Manual Transmission
To engage R (Reverse), with the
vehicle stationary, pull up on the
button on the selector lever and
engage the gear. If the gear does
not engage, set the lever in Neutral,
release the clutch pedal, and apply
it again; then repeat gear selection.

Up-Shift Light
If the vehicle has a manual
transmission, it may have an
up-shift light that indicates when to
shift to the next higher gear for the
best fuel economy.

Bluetooth systems, press to reject
an incoming call, or end a
current call.
_SRC^:Press to select an audio
source.
Toggle up or down to select the next
or previous favorite radio station,
CD/MP3 track, USB file, iPod/
iPhone song or Bluetooth music.
Toggle and hold up or down to fast
forward or reverse the radio
stations, CD/MP3 tracks, USB files,

x− :Press + or −to increase or
decrease the volume.

Cruise Control
If equipped with the cruise control
system:
o:Press to turn the cruise control
system on and off. A white indicator
comes on in the instrument cluster
when cruise is turned on.
RES/+ : If there is a set speed in
memory, move the thumbwheel up
briefly to resume to that speed or
hold upward to accelerate. If cruise
control is already active, use to
increase vehicle speed. SET/−
:Move the thumbwheel down
briefly to set the speed and activate
cruise control. If cruise control is
already active, use to decrease
speed.
n: Press to disengage cruise
control without erasing the set
speed from memory.

Driver Information
Center (DIC)
If equipped, the DIC display is in the
instrument cluster. It shows the
status of many vehicle systems. The
controls for the DIC are on the turn
signal lever.
1. SET/CLR: Press to set or clear
the menu item displayed.

w/x: Use to scroll through
the menus.

Avoid setting off the alarm by
accident by locking the vehicle after
all occupants have left the vehicle
and all doors are closed.
To avoid setting off the alarm by
accident:
.Lock the vehicle after all
occupants have exited.
. Always unlock the vehicle with
the RKE transmitter.
Unlocking the driver door with the
key will not disarm the system or
turn off the alarm.
How to Detect a Tamper
Condition
IfKis pressed on the RKE
transmitter and the horn chirps and
the lights flash three times, an alarm
occurred previously while the
system was armed.
Immobilizer
See Radio Frequency

Immobilizer Operation
(Key Access)
This vehicle has a passive
theft-deterrent system.
The system does not have to be
manually armed or disarmed.
The vehicle is automatically
immobilized when the key is
removed from the ignition.
The system is automatically
disarmed when the vehicle is
started with the correct key. The key
uses a transponder that matches an
immobilizer control unit in the
vehicle and automatically disarms
the system. Only an authorized key
starts the vehicle. The vehicle may
not start if the key is damaged.
The security light in the instrument
cluster comes on if there is a
problem with arming or disarming
the theft-deterrent system.
When trying to start the vehicle, the
security light comes on briefly when
the ignition is turned on.
If the engine does not start and the
security light stays on, there is a
problem with the system. Turn the
ignition off and try again.
If the engine still does not start, and
the key appears to be undamaged
or the light continues to stay on, try
another ignition key. If the engine
does not start with the other key, the
vehicle needs service. If the vehicle
does start, the first key may be
damaged. See your dealer who can
service the theft-deterrent system
and have a new key made.
Do not leave the key or device that
disarms or deactivates the
theft-deterrent system in the vehicle.

The windshield washer reservoir is
used for the windshield and the rear
window. Check the fluid level in the
reservoir if either washer is not
working. See Washer Fluid 0257.
Compass
The vehicle may have a compass
display in the Driver Information
Center (DIC).
Setting the Compass Zone
Under certain circumstances, such
as during a long trip or moving to a
new area, the compass zone will
need to be reset. If the compass is
not set to the correct zone, it may
give false readings. The compass
zone should be set to the area in
which the vehicle is currently
traveling.
Use the DIC buttons to set the
compass zone:
1. While the vehicle is in P (Park), press the MENU button to
display the DIC menu. 2. Press and hold SET/CLR while
the Set Area display is active.3. Find the vehicle's currentlocation and zone number on
the map. Zones 1 through 15
are available.
4. Use
w xto change to the
correct zone number.
5. Press SET/CLR to confirm the setting.
Clock
Radio without Touchscreen
The infotainment system controls
are used to access the time and
date settings through the menu
system. See Operation0157 on
how to use the menu system.
Setting the Time and Date
When Auto Set is enabled the time
cannot be manually set.
1. Press MENU, then select Settings.
2. Select Time and Date.
3. Select Set Time or Set Date.
4. Turn MENU to change the value.
5. Press MENU to select the next value.
6. Turn MENU to change the value.
7. To exit without saving, press BACK at any time; or to save
and return to the Time and
Date menu, press MENU
multiple times.

Auto Set
Auto Set requires an active
connection to OnStar.
When Auto Set is enabled, the time
displayed on the clock may not
update immediately when driving
into a new time zone.
When Auto Set is enabled, the time
cannot be manually set.
From the Set Time or Set
Date menu:1. Press the preset button under Auto Set.
2. Turn MENU to select Off (Manual) or On-Cell Network,
then press MENU to select it
and return to the Time and
Date menu.
3. To exit without saving, press BACK at any time.
Setting the 12/24 Hour Format
From the Set Time menu:
1. Press the preset button under 12-24 HR to change between
12 hour and 24 hour modes. 2. To return to the Time and Date
menu, press BACK at any time.
Radio with Touchscreen
The infotainment system controls
are used to access the time and
date settings through the menu
system. See Operation0157 on
how to use the menu system.
Setting the Time and Date

Personalization Menu (Radio
without Touchscreen)
The audio system controls are used
to access the personalization
menus for customizing vehicle
features.
The following are all possible
personalization features. Depending
on the vehicle, some may not be
available.
MENU :Turn to scroll through the
menus or setup items. Press to
enter the menus and select the
menu items.
BACK : Press to exit or return to
the previous screen or menu.
To access a menu:
1. Press MENU.
2. Turn MENU to the desired menu.
3. Press MENU to select.
Menus and functions may vary
depending on vehicle options. Entering the Personalization

Select Settings from the
Home Page.

This feature automatically adjusts
the radio volume based on the
speed of the vehicle.
Select the desired value.
Maximum Startup Volume
When the vehicle is started and the
radio volume is greater than this set
level, the volume is adjusted to this
level.
Select the desired value.

Valet Mode (If Equipped)
This will lock the infotainment
system and steering wheel controls.
It may also limit access to vehicle
storage locations (if equipped).
To enable valet mode:
1. Enter a four-digit code on the keypad.
2. Touch Enter to go to the confirmation screen.
3. Re-enter the four-digit code.
Touch LOCK or UNLOCK to lock or
unlock the system. Touch Back to
go back to the previous menu.

Auto Volume
This feature adjusts the volume
based on vehicle speed and
ambient noise. Select Off, Low, Medium-Low,
Medium, Medium-High, or High.
Maximum Startup Volume
This feature sets the maximum
startup volume. If the vehicle is
started and the volume is greater
than this level, the volume is
adjusted to this level. To set the
maximum startup volume, press +
or
−to increase or decrease.
