Remote Start Auto Cool Seat
When on and it is hot outside, theventilated seats will turn onautomatically.
Select to turn on or off.
Remote Start Auto Heat Seat
When on and it is cold outside, theheated seats will turn onautomatically.
Select to turn on or off.
Comfort and Convenience
Select and the following maydisplay:

.Reverse Tilt Mirror
Easy Exit Driver Seat
This feature moves the seatrearward to a preset positionallowing the driver more room to exitthe vehicle.

Select On or Off.
Auto Memory Recall
When on, this feature will recall thestored seat positions for the RemoteKeyless Entry (RKE) transmitterbeing used. SeeMemory Seats048.
Select On or Off.
Chime Volume
This allows the selection of thechime volume level.
Select Normal or High.
Button Chime
Select to turn this feature on or off.
Reverse Tilt Mirror
This allows the feature to be turnedon or off.
Select Off, On - Driver andPassenger, On - Driver, or On -Passenger.
Collision/Detection Systems
Select and the following maydisplay, if equipped:

Side Blind Zone Alert

AUTOhis displayed when the
system is automatically controllingthe combination of outside andrecirculated air for bestperformance.
Rear Window Defogger
The rear window defogger uses awarming grid to remove fog or frostfrom the rear window. It only workswhen the ignition is on.
K:Press to turn the rear windowdefogger on or off. The indicator onthe button turns on. The rearwindow defogger turns offautomatically if it is left on.
Caution
Using a razor blade or sharp
object on the inside rear window
can damage the antenna or
defogger. Repairs would not be
covered by the vehicle warranty.
Do not stick anything to the rear
window.
Heated Mirrors :If equipped withheated outside mirrors, the mirrorsheat to help clear fog or frost fromthe surface of the mirror when therear window defog button ispressed. SeeHeated Mirrors039.
Sensors
The automatic climate controlsystem uses sensors to maintaintemperatures. The solar sensor ison the instrument panel near thewindshield, and the outsidetemperature sensor is in front of theradiator.
The solar sensor monitors the solarradiation when operating in AUTOmode, adjusting the temperature,fan speed and air delivery.
The system may also supply coolerair to the side of the vehicle facingthe sun. The recirculation mode willalso be activated, as necessary.
The outside temperature sensor canbe affected by radiant heat whenthe vehicle is not moving.
To p r e v e n t f a l s e t e m p e r a t u r ereadings, the displayed temperaturewill not update at low vehiclespeeds.
If the vehicle has been turned off forless than four hours, thetemperature at start up will berecalled from previous operation.
Do not cover the sensors; otherwisethe automatic climate control systemwill not work properly.
Remote Start Climate Control
Operation
If equipped with the remote startfeature, when it is activated, theclimate control system will use theprevious settings. SeeRemoteVehicle Start030.
Regular Operation
Adjusting the Temperature
When the climate control systemhas stabilized, adjust thetemperature to a comfortablesetting.

.Pay attention to special roadsigns (e.g., falling rocks area,winding roads, long grades,passing or no-passing zones)and take appropriate action.
Winter Driving
Driving on Snow or Ice
Snow or ice between the tires andthe road creates less traction orgrip, so drive carefully. Wet ice canoccur at about 0 °C (32 °F) whenfreezing rain begins to fall. Avoiddriving on wet ice or in freezing rainuntil roads can be treated.
For Slippery Road Driving:
.Accelerate gently. Acceleratingtoo quickly causes the wheels tospin and makes the surfaceunder the tires slick.

.The Antilock Brake System(ABS) improves vehicle stabilityduring hard stops, but thebrakes should be applied sooner
than when on dry pavement.SeeAntilock Brake System(ABS)0241.
.Allow greater following distanceand watch for slippery spots. Icypatches can occur on otherwiseclear roads in shaded areas.The surface of a curve or anoverpass can remain icy whenthe surrounding roads are clear.Avoid sudden steeringmaneuvers and braking whileon ice.
.Turn off cruise control.
Blizzard Conditions
Stop the vehicle in a safe place andsignal for help. Stay with the vehicleunless there is help nearby.If possible, use RoadsideAssistance. SeeRoadsideAssistance Program0368.Togethelp and keep everyone in thevehicle safe:
.Turn on the hazard warningflashers.
.Tie a red cloth to an outsidemirror.
{Warning
Snow can trap engine exhaust
under the vehicle. This may
cause exhaust gases to get
inside. Engine exhaust contains
carbon monoxide (CO), which
cannot be seen or smelled. It can
cause unconsciousness and even
death.
If the vehicle is stuck in snow:
.Clear snow from the base ofthe vehicle, especially anyblocking the exhaust pipe.
.Open a window about 5 cm(2 in) on the vehicle sidethat is away from the wind,to bring in fresh air.
.Fully open the air outlets onor under the instrumentpanel.
.Adjust the climate controlsystem to circulate the airinside the vehicle and set
