26 IN BRIEF
Engine Oil Life System
The engine oil life system calculates
engine oil life based on vehicle use
and displays the CHANGE ENGINE
OIL SOON message when it is time to
change the engine oil and filter. The
oil life system should be reset to 100%
only following an oil change.
Resetting the Oil Life System1. Using the DIC controls on the right side of the steering wheel,
display REMAINING OIL LIFE on
the DIC. See Driver Information
Center (DIC) 0132. When
remaining oil life is low, the
CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON
message will appear on the
display. See Engine Oil
Messages 0140. 2. Press and hold SEL to clear the
CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON
message and reset the oil life
at 100%.
Be careful not to reset the oil life
display accidentally at any time
other than after the oil is
changed. It cannot be reset
accurately until the next oil
change.
The oil life system can also be reset as
follows: 1. Turn the ignition on with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times
within five seconds.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL
SOON message is not on, the
system is reset.
See Engine Oil Life System 0259.
Car Wash Guidelines
Caution
Some automatic car washes can
cause damage to the vehicle, wheels
and ground effects. Automatic car
washes are not recommended, due
to lack of clearance for the
undercarriage and/or wide rear tires
and wheels. See "Washing the
Vehicle" under Exterior Care0315.

INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS 109
Power Outlets
Power Outlets 12 Volt Direct Current
Accessory power outlets can be used
to plug in electrical equipment, such
as a cell phone or MP3 player.
The vehicle has three 12-volt
accessory power outlets on the center
console:
.Inside the center console storage
in front of the armrest cover.
. Inside the storage area under the
armrest cover.
. Inside the storage area on the rear
of the center console, if equipped.
These outlets are powered while the
vehicle is in ON/RUN/START or ACC/
ACCESSORY mode, or until the driver
door is opened within 10 minutes of
turning off the vehicle.
Lift the cover to access the accessory
power outlet.
Certain electrical accessories may not
be compatible with the accessory
power outlet and could overload a
vehicle circuit breaker or adapter fuse.
If overloaded, the circuit breaker will reset after all devices are disconnected
or if Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
is turned off and then back on. See
Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
0200.
Wait one minute to allow the circuit
breaker to reset before reconnecting
devices or turning RAP back on. If the
problem continues, the issue could be
within your device. Try another
known good device to make sure the
circuit breaker is operating properly.
If this does not resolve your problem,
see your dealer.
It is possible to replace the factory
power outlet with a cigar lighter
receptacle, if desired. This requires the
factory installed circuit breaker to be
replaced with a standard minifuse by
the dealer. A minifuse will not reset
and will have to be replace if blown.
Caution
Failure to replace the circuit
breaker with the minifuse could
overheat the cigar lighter and
damage the vehicle. Always unplug electrical equipment
when not in use and do not plug in
equipment that exceeds the maximum
15 amps rating.
When adding electrical equipment, be
sure to follow the proper installation
instructions included with the
equipment. See
Add-On Electrical
Equipment 0246.
Caution
Adding any electrical equipment to
the vehicle may damage it or keep
other components from working as
they should. The repairs would not
be covered by the vehicle warranty.
Do not use equipment exceeding
maximum amperage rating of
15 amperes. Check with your dealer
before adding electrical equipment.

110 INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS
Caution
Hanging heavy equipment from the
power outlet can cause damage not
covered by the vehicle warranty.
The power outlets are designed for
accessory power plugs only, such as
cell phone charge cords.
Power Outlet 220/230 Volt
Alternating Current
If equipped, this power outlet is inside
the center console. It can be used to
plug in electrical equipment that uses
a maximum limit of 150 watts.
An indicator light on the outlet turns
on to show it is in use. The light
comes on when the ignition is in ON/
RUN/START, equipment requiring less
than 150 watts is plugged into the
outlet, and no system fault is
detected.
The indicator light does not come on
when the ignition is in LOCK/OFF or if
the equipment is not fully seated into
the outlet.
If equipment is connected using more
than 150 watts or a system fault is
detected, a protection circuit shuts off
the power supply and the indicator
light turns off. To reset the circuit,
unplug the item and plug it back in or
turn the Retained Accessory Power
(RAP) off and then back on. See
Retained Accessory Power (RAP)0200.
The power restarts when equipment
using 150 watts or less is plugged into
the outlet and a system fault is not
detected. The power outlet is not designed for
the following and may not work
properly, if this equipment is
plugged in:
.
Equipment with high initial peak
wattage such as:
compressor-driven refrigerators
and electric power tools.
. Other equipment requiring an
extremely stable power supply
such as: microcomputer-controlled
electric blankets, touch sensor
lamps, etc.
. Medical equipment.
Wireless Charging
The vehicle may have wireless
charging in the storage behind the
climate control system. See Instrument
Panel Storage 0100. The system
wirelessly charges one PMA or Qi
compatible mobile device. To check
for phone or other device
compatibility, see your dealer for
details.

118 INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS
Speedometer
The speedometer shows the vehicle's
speed in kilometers per hour (km/h)
or miles per hour (mph).
This vehicle is equipped with an
overspeed warning device. When the
vehicle's speed reaches 120 km/h
(75 mph), a chime will sound.
A message also displays in the Driver
Information Center (DIC). SeeVehicle
Speed Messages 0148.
Odometer
The odometer shows how far the
vehicle has been driven, in either
kilometers or miles.
Trip Odometer
The trip odometer shows how far the
vehicle has been driven since the trip
odometer was last reset.
The trip odometer is accessed and
reset through the Driver Information
Center (DIC). See Driver Information
Center (DIC) 0132.
Tachometer
The tachometer displays the engine
speed in revolutions per minute (rpm).
On the base cluster, if the vehicle has
the Stop/Start system, when the
ignition is in ON/RUN, the tachometer
indicates the vehicle status. When
pointing to AUTO STOP, the engine is
off but the vehicle is on and can
move. The engine could auto start at
any time. When the indicator points
to OFF, the vehicle is off.
When the engine is on, the
tachometer will indicate the engine’s
revolutions per minute (rpm). The
tachometer may vary by several
hundred rpm’s, during Auto Stop
mode, when the engine is shutting off
and restarting.
A slight bump may be felt when the
transmission is determining the most
fuel efficient operating range.Caution
If the engine is operated with the
rpm’s in the warning area at the
high end of the tachometer, the
vehicle could be damaged, and the
damage would not be covered by
the vehicle warranty. Do not operate
the engine with the rpm’s in the
warning area.
