climate control system
You can switch the climate control system
on and off with the OFF button.
It is also switch- ed on when you press another button or a knob
.
Airflow from outside is blocked when the climate
contro l system is sw itched off .
A/C
Cooling mode
You can switch the cooling mode on or off using
the rocker switch ®· The air is not cooled and hu­
midity is not removed when cooling mode is
switched off. This can cause fog on the w indows .
Cooling mode switches off automatically when
the outside temperature is below zero.
A/Ceco

You can switch the eco cooling mode on or off us-
ing the rocker switch ®· The climate control ..,.

Switching adaptive cruise control off
• Push the lever away from you into position @

vehicles are detected ahead. The stored speed is
maintained.
• -A vehicle driving ahead was detected. The
adapt ive cr uise control system regulates the
speed and distance to the vehicle dr iv ing ahead
and accelerates/brakes automatically.
• -adaptive cru ise cont rol is switched on . Ave­
h icle was detected ahead. Yo ur vehicle is stat ion­
ary and will not star t driving automatically.
(-j -adaptive cru ise control is switched on . No
vehicles we re detected ahead . Your vehicle is sta­
tionary and will not start dr iving automati cally.
• -T he automatic brak ing is not enough to
maintain a sufficient distance to a veh icle dr iving
ahead . You must intervene

Based on the graphic display, you can determine
if the system is maintaining a distance to the ve­
h icle dr iving ahead and what that distance is .
No vehicle -no vehicle was detected driving
ahead .
Silver vehicle -a vehicle was detected driv ing
ahead.
Red vehicle -request for the dr iver to take action

The five distance bar s on the gauge© rep resent
the set d istance (refer to
~ page 101 for infor­
mat io n on how to change the dis tance) . If you
fa ll below the se lected distance, the distance
bars become red from the bottom upward.

A WARNING
If you press the !SET ! button when driv ing at
speeds below 20 mph (30 km/h), the veh icle
accelerates automatically up to 20 mph (30
km/h), wh ich is the minim um speed that can
be set.
@ Tips
- If you switch the ignition or the adaptive
cruise cont rol sys tem off, the set speed is
erased for safety reasons.
- The e lectronic stabilization control (ESC)
and the an ti-slip-regula tion (ASR) are auto­
matically switched on when the adap tive
cruise cont rol is swit ched on.

gestio n assist is only designed for use on
paved roads.

- On curving stretches of road .
- In narrow lanes.
- In unclear traffic situations s uch as at inter-
sections or toll stations.

the time between the vehicle driving ahead and

Messages in the instrument cluster display
If the active lane assist sw itches off automatical­
ly , the indicator light in the display turns off and
one of the follo wing messages appears:
rl1 Audi active lane assist: currently unavaila­
ble . Camera view restricted due to surround­
ings. See owner's manual
This message appears if the camera is unable to
detect the lines. This could happen if:
- The camera window
¢page 113, fig. 106 is
dirty or covered in ice. Clean this area on the
windshield
r:::> page 337 .
-The camera fie ld of view is fogged over. Wait
until the fog has cleared before switching the
active lane assist on aga in.

Multi Media Interface
Traffic safety information
Audi recommends performing certain Infotain­
ment system functions, such as entering a desti­
nation, only when the vehicle is stationary . Al ­
ways be prepared to stop operat ing the Infotain­
ment system in the interest of your safety and
the safety of other road users.
A WARNING
Only use the Infotainment system when traf­
fic conditions permit and always in a way that
allows you to maintain complete control over
your vehicle.
Introduction
The Multi Media Interface , or MMI for short ,
combines various systems for communication,
navigation* and entertainment in your Audi. You
can operate the MMI using the MMI control pan­
el, the multifunction steering wheel or the voice
recognition system* .
