Driving (P 337)
Release Button
Depress the brake pedal and press the
release button to move out of
( P.
Move the shift lever without pressing
the release button. Press the release button to move the
shift lever.
Automatic Transmission (P 351)
● Shift to
(P and depress the brake pedal when starting the
engine.
● Shifting
Park
Turn off or start the engine.
Transmission is locked.
Reverse
Used when reversing.
Neutral
Transmission is not locked.
Drive
Normal driving. The sequential
shift mode can be used.Paddle Shifters (P354)
● Paddle shifters allow you to sh ift gears much like a manual
transmission (1st through 6th). This is useful for engine braking.
● D-paddle shift mode: The
transmission will shift back to
automatic mode once the
system detects that the vehicle
is cruising.
● Sequential shift mode: Holds
the selected gear, and the M
indicator comes on, when the
SPORT mode is on.

shown in the instrument

START/STOP button for up to 15 seconds while

range to start the engine.

AcuraLink®
Is a subscription-based service that provides convenient features such as voice
communication in case of emergency, online security, one-on-one operator
assistance, and the transmission of impo rtant messages regarding your vehicle’s
status.
For information on traffic rerouting and traffi c information updates, provided by the
AcuraLink server, see the Na vigation System Manual.
■Automatic collision notification
If your vehicle’s airbags deploy or if the unit
detects that the vehicle is severely impacted,
your vehicle automatically will attempt to
connect to the AcuraLink operator. Once
connected, information about your vehicle, its
positioning, and its condition will be sent to
the operator; you also can speak to the
operator when connected.

from the Internet or your smartphone.
To subscribe to AcuraLink, or to get more
information about all of its features, contact an Acura

1In Case of Emergency
Your vehicle may not be able to connect to the operator
if the battery level is low, th e line is disconnected or you
do not have adequate cellular coverage.
You cannot use emergency services when:•You travel outside the AcuraLink service coverage areas.
•There is a problem with the connecting devices,
such as the ASSIST button, microphone, speakers,
or the unit itself.
•You are not subscribed to the service or your
subscription is no longer valid.
You cannot operate othe r navigation- or phone-
related functions using the screens while talking to
the operator.
Only the operator can terminate the connection to
your vehicle.
1 Automatic collision notification
If the unit fails to connect to the operator, it
repeatedly tries until it succeeds.

Driving
■To release automatically
Depressing the accelerator pedal releases the parking brake.
Use the accelerator pedal to release the brake when you are starting the vehicle
facing uphill, or in a traffic jam.
Gently depress the accelerator pedal.
When on a hill, it may require more
accelerator input to release.u The electric parking brake indicator goes
off.
You can release the parking brake automatically when:
• You are wearing the driver’s seat belt.
• The engine is running.
• The shift lever is in any position other than
(P or (N.
1Parking Brake
In the following situations, the parking brake
automatically operates.
•When the vehicle stops more than 10 minutes
while ACC with LSF* is activated.•When the driver’s seat belt is unfastened while
your vehicle is stopped au tomatically by ACC with
LSF
*.•When the engine is turned off while ACC with LSF*
is activated.
•When the vehicle stops with the automatic brake
hold system activated for more than 10 minutes.
•When the driver’s seat belt is unfastened while
your vehicle is stopped and brake hold is applied.
•When the engine is turned off while brake hold is
applied.
•When there is a problem with the Brake Hold
System.
If the parking brake cannot be released
automatically, release it manually.
The parking brake cannot be released automatically
while the following indicators are on:
•Malfunction indicator lamp•Transmission indicator
The parking brake may not be released automatically
while the following indicators are on:
•Electric parking brak e system indicator•VSA® system indicator•ABS indicator•Supplemental restraint system indicator
