■The system automatically cancels when:
• You depress the brake pedal and change to
(P or (R.
• You engage the parking brake.
Under the following conditions, the system automatically cancels, and the parking
brake is applied:
• Braking is kept for more than 10 minutes.
• The driver’s seat belt is unfastened.
• The power system is turned off.
• Brake Hold System Problem appears on the multi-information display.
■Turning off the automatic brake hold system
While the system is on, press the automatic
brake hold button again.u The automatic brake hold system
indicator goes off.
If you want to turn off automatic brake hold
while the system is in operation, press the
automatic brake hold button with the brake
pedal depressed.

While the system is activated, you can turn off the
power system or park th e vehicle through the same

Whether the system is on, or the system is activated,
the automatic brake hold turns off once the power
system is off.
1 Turning on the system
Make sure to turn off the automatic brake hold
system before using an automated car wash.
You may hear an operating noi se if the vehicle moves
while the automatic brake hold system is in
operation. The system generates sound while holding
the vehicle and it moves.

■When the system activates
At system’s earliest collision alert st age, you can change the distance (Long/
Normal /Short ) between vehicles at which alerts will come on through multi-
information display setting options.

■Vibration alert on the steering wheel
When a potential coll ision to an oncoming detected vehicle is determined, the
system alerts you with rapid vibration on th e steering wheel, in addition to visual and
audible alerts.
u Take appropriate action to prevent a col lision (apply the brakes, operate the
steering wheel, etc.).

The camera in the CMBS
TM is also designed to detect
pedestrians.
However, this pedestrian detection feature may not
activate or may not detect a pedestrian in front of
your vehicle under certain conditions.
Refer to the ones indicating the pedestrian detection

The head-up warning uses a lens located at the front
end of the dashboard.
Do not cover the lens or spill any liquid on it.

Press this button until the beeper sounds to
switch the system on or off.
When the CMBS
TM is off:
• The CMBSTM indicator in the instrument
panel comes on.
• A message on the multi-information display
reminds you that the system is off.

TM is in the previously selected ON or
OFF setting each time you start the power
system.

• Your vehicle is moving at 3 mph (5 km/h) or
lower.
When a vehicle is detected approaching from a rear corner, Cross Traffic Monitor
alerts you with a buzzer and a displayed warning or accelerator pedal resistibility.
The system will not detect a vehicle that approaches from directly behind your
vehicle, nor will it provide alerts about a detected vehicle when it moves directly
behind your vehicle.
The system does not provide alerts for a vehicle that is moving away from your
vehicle, and it may alert for pedestrians, bicycles, or stationary objects.
■How the System Works1 Cross Traffic Monitor
Cross Traffic Monitor may not detect or may delay
alerting an approaching vehi cle, or may alert without
an approaching vehicle under the following
conditions:
•An obstacle, such as a nother vehicle and a wall,
near your vehicle’s rear bumper, is blocking the
radar sensor’s scope.
•Your vehicle is moving at the speed of about 3 mph
(5 km/h) or higher.
•A vehicle is approaching at the speed other than
between about 6 mph (10 km/h) and 16 mph (25
km/h).
•The system picks up external interference such as
other radar sensors from an other vehicle or strong
radio wave transmitted fr om a facility nearby.
•Either corner of the rear bumper is covered with
snow, ice, mud or dirt.
•When there is bad weather.
•Your vehicle is on an incline.
•Your vehicle is tilted due to a heavy load in the rear.•Your vehicle is reversing towards a wall, a poll, a
vehicle, and so on.
•The rear bumper or the sensors have been
improperly repaired or the rear bumper has been
deformed. Have your vehi cle checked by a dealer.
For proper operation, always keep the rear bumper
corner area clean.
Do not cover the rear bumper corner area with labels
or stickers of any kind.

■When the System Detects a Vehicle1When the System Detects a Vehicle
If on the lower right ch anges to (amber) when
the transmission is in
( R, mud snow or ice, etc. may
have accumulated in the vi cinity of the sensor. The
system is temporarily canceled. Check the bumper
corners for any obstructions, and thoroughly clean
the area if necessary.
If (amber) comes on when the transmission is in
( R, there may be a problem with the Cross Traffic
Monitor system. Do not use the system and have your
vehicle checked by a dealer.
If the display remains the same with the transmission
in
( R, there may be a problem with the rear camera
system and the Cross Traffic Monitor system.

Multi-View Rear Camera*
About Your Multi-View Rear Camera
The audio/information screen can display your vehicle’s rear view. The display
automatically changes to th e rear view when the gear position is changed to
(R.
You can view three different camera angl es on the rearview display. Press the
interface dial to switch the angle.
If Top View is last used before you turn the power mode to OFF, Wide mode is
selected next time you turn the power on and change to
(R.
■Multi-View Rear Camera Display Area
1 About Your Multi-View Rear Camera
The rear camera view is restricted. You cannot see
the corner ends of the bum per or what is underneath
the bumper. Its unique le ns also makes objects
appear closer or farther than they actually are.
Visually confirm that it is safe to drive before backing
up. Certain conditions (such as weather, lighting, and
high temperatures) may also re strict the rear view. Do
not rely on the rearview display which does not give
you all information about conditions at the back of
your vehicle.
If the camera lens is cove red with dirt or moisture,
use a soft, moist cloth to keep the lens clean and free
of debris.
You can change the Fixed Guideline and Dynamic

Surround View Camera System*
Is a four camera system that views areas commonly known as “blind spots” from
different angles, then displays the images on the audi o/information screen. This
system can be used to:
• Check the right and left sides of the vehi cle while crossing at intersections with
poor visibility (fog, heavy rain, obstructed view, etc.).

•Check for obstacles in front of the vehicle when parking or maneuvering in
confined areas.

Press the CAMERA button when the vehicle is
stationary or moving at 12 mph (20 km/h) or
slower. Press the button again or the interface
dial to switch camera views.
■For rear reviews:

vehicle is stationary. Press the CAMERA
button or the interface dial to switch to rear
view mode.
You can customize the display setting.
