Vehicles with tyre repair kit
The tools and the towing eye are
located in a box together with the tyre
repair kit below the floor cover in the
load compartment.

Vehicle care255Tyre chains are only permitted on
tyres of size 215/60 R16, 215/55 R17 ,
225/55 R17 M+S and 235/45 R18.
Temporary spare wheel
The use of tyre chains is not permitted
on the temporary spare wheel.
Tyre repair kit
Minor damage to the tyre tread can be repaired with the tyre repair kit.
Do not remove foreign bodies from
the tyres.
Tyre damage exceeding 4 mm or that
is at tyre's side wall cannot be
repaired with the tyre repair kit.9 Warning
Do not drive faster than 50 mph.
Do not use for a lengthy period.
Steering and handling may be
affected.
Two types of tyre repair kit are
available:
● Type 1 indicated by the on/off
switch at the top of the
compressor.
● Type 2 indicated by the on/off
switch at the side of the
compressor.
If vehicle has a flat tyre:
Apply the parking brake and engage
first gear, reverse gear or P.
On vehicles with audio speaker
system, the tyre repair kit is stowed together with the tools.

Towing the vehicle
Disengage cap at slot and remove
downwards.
The towing eye is stowed with the
vehicle tools 3 248.
Screw in the towing eye as far as it will
go until it stops in a horizontal
position.
Attach a tow rope – or better still a tow
rod – to the towing eye.
The towing eye must only be used for towing and not for recovering the
vehicle.
Switch on ignition to release steering
wheel lock and to permit operation of
brake lights, horn and windscreen
wiper.
Transmission in neutral.
Caution
Drive slowly. Do not drive jerkily.
Excessive tractive force can
damage the vehicle.
When the engine is not running,
considerably more force is needed to
brake and steer.
To prevent the entry of exhaust gases from the towing vehicle, switch on the
air recirculation and close the
windows.
Vehicles with manual transmission
and All-wheel drive: If the vehicle is
towed with all four wheels on the
ground then there are no technical
limitations for speed and distance. If
only one axle has been raised, the
maximum speed is 30 mph. There is
no distance limitation.
Vehicles with automatic transmission
and All-wheel drive: The vehicle must
be towed facing forwards. If the
vehicle is towed with all four wheels
on the ground, the maximum speed is 30 mph and for a maximum of
30 miles. If the front axle has been
