Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below
has burnt out, have it replaced by
your Scion dealer.
l Parking lights/daytime running lights
l Rear side marker lights
l High mounted stoplight
l Tail lights
l Side turn signal lights
nLED light bulbs
The parking lights/daytime running lights, rear side marker lights, high
mounted stoplight and tail lights consist of a number of LEDs. If any of the
LEDs burns out, take your vehicle to your Scion dealer to have the light
replaced.
n Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not
indicate a malfunction.
Contact your Scion dealer for more information in the following situations:
lLarge drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
l Water has built up inside the headlight.
WARNING
n Replacing light bulbs
lTurn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after
turning off the lights.
The bulbs become very hot and may cause burns.
l Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands. When it is
unavoidable to hold the glass portion, use and hold with a clean dry cloth
to avoid getting moisture and oils on the bulb.
Also, if the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
l Fully install light bulbs and any parts used to secure them. Failure to do so
may result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This
may damage the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
n To prevent damage or fire
Make sure bulbs are fully seated and locked.

The coolant level is satisfactory
if it is between the “FULL” and
“LOW” lines on the reservoir.Reservoir

Add engine coolant if neces-
sary.
Water can be used in an emer-
gency if engine coolant is unavail-
able.
Start the engine and turn the air conditioning system on to check
that the radiator cooling fan opera tes and to check for coolant leaks
from the radiator or hoses.
The fan operates when the air conditioning system is turned on immedi-
ately after a cold start. Confirm that the fan is operating by checking the fan
sound and air flow. If it is difficult to check these, turn the air conditioning
system on and off repeatedly.
(The fan may not operate in freezing temperatures.)
If the fan is not operating:
Stop the engine immediately an d contact your Scion dealer.
If the fan is operating:
Have the vehicle in spected at the nearest Scion dealer.
