In some weather conditions (e.g. low
temperature or humidity), the presence
of misting on the internal sur face of the
glass of the headlamps and rear lamps
is normal; it disappears after the lamps
have been on for a few minutes.

In good or rainy weather, both day
and night, the front foglamps and the
rear foglamps are prohibited. In these
situations, the power of their beams
may dazzle other drivers.
they
should
only be used in fog or snow.
In these weather conditions, it is your
responsibility to switch on the foglamps
and dipped headlamps manually as the
sunshine sensor may detect sufficient
light.
Do not forget to switch off the front
foglamps and the rear foglamps when
they are no longer needed.Lighting left on audible signal
An audible signal when a front door
is opened warns the driver that the
vehicle's exterior lighting is on, with the
ignition off and in manual lighting mode.
In this case, switching off the lighting
stops the audible signal.
With the ignition off, if the dipped
headlamps remain on, the vehicle goes
into "

the battery.
the l
ighting goes off when you switch
off the ignition, but you can always
switch it on again using the lighting
control stalk.

and anti-slip regulation (ASR)
Activation
these systems are activated automatically
e ach time the vehicle is started.
As soon as they detect a problem of grip or
trajectory, these systems act on the operation if
the engine and brakes.
thi
s is indicated by flashing of this
warning lamp in the instrument panel.
the D
SC system offers exceptional
safety in normal driving, but this should
not encourage the driver to take extra
risks or drive at high speed.the c orrect operation of the system
depends on observation of the
manufacturer's recommendations
regarding the wheels (tyres and rims),
the braking components, the electronic
components and the assembly and
repair procedures used by P

Deactivation
In exceptional conditions (starting a vehicle
which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on soft
ground...), it may be advisable to deactivate the
DSC system, so that the wheels can spin freely
and regain grip.

reactivated as soon as possible.

Airbags
System designed to contribute towards
improving the safety of the occupants (with
the exception of the rear centre passenger)
in the event of violent collisions.
the a
irbags
supplement the action of the force-limiting
seat belts (with the exception of the centre rear
passenger).
If a collision occurs, the electronic detectors
record and analyse the front and side impacts
sustained in the impact detection zones:
-
in t
he case of a serious impact, the airbags
are deployed instantly and contribute
towards better protection of the occupants
of the vehicle (with the exception of the
rear centre passenger); immediately after
the impact, the airbags deflate rapidly so
that they do not hinder visibility or the exit
of the occupants,
-
in t
he case of a minor or rear impact or in
certain roll-over conditions, the airbags
may not be deployed; the seat belt
alone contributes towards ensuring your
protection in these situations.
The airbags do not operate when the
ignition is switched off.
thi
s equipment will only deploy once.
If a second impact occurs (during the
same or a subsequent accident), the
airbag will not be deployed again. Deployment of one or more of the
airbags is accompanied by a slight
emission of smoke and a noise, due
to the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridge incorporated in the system.
thi
s smoke is not harmful, but sensitive
individuals may experience slight
irritation.
the n
oise of detonation related to the
deployment of one or more airbags may
result in a slight loss of hearing for a
short time.

Front airbags
Deployment
the airbags are deployed, except the
p assenger's front airbag if it is deactivated, in the
event of a serious front impact to all or part of the
front impact zone A , in the longitudinal centreline
of the vehicle on a horizontal plane and directed
from the front to the rear of the vehicle.
the f
ront airbag inflates between the thorax and
head of the front occupant of the vehicle and the
steering wheel, driver's side, and the dashboard,
passenger's side to cushion their forward
movement. System which protects the driver and front
passenger in the event of a serious front impact
in order to limit the risk of injury to the head and
thorax.
the d
river's airbag is fitted in the centre of the
steering wheel; the front passenger's airbag is
fitted in the dashboard above the glove box.

Driving

308_en_Chap06_conduite_ed02-2015
Under-inflation detection
the system monitors the pressures in the
f our t yres, once the vehicle is moving.
It compares the information given by the four
wheel speed sensors with reference values,
which must be reinitialised ever y time the
tyre pressures are adjusted or a wheel
changed .
the s
ystem triggers an alert as soon as it
detects a drop in the inflation pressure of one
or more tyres.the u nder-inflation detection system
does not replace the need for vigilance
on the part of the driver.
thi
s system does not avoid the need to
check the tyre pressures (including the
spare wheel) every month as well as
before a long journey.
Driving with under-inflated tyres impairs
road holding, extends braking distances
and causes premature tyre wear,
particularly under arduous condition
(high loading, high speed, long journey).
System which automatically checks the pressures of the tyres while driving.the i
nflation pressures defined for
your vehicle can be found on the tyre
pressure label.
For more information on the
identification markings, refer to the
corresponding section.
tyr
e pressures should be checked
when the tyres are "cold" (vehicle
stopped for 1 hour or after a journey of
less than 6 miles (10 km) at moderate
speeds).
Other wise (when hot), add 0.3 bar to
the pressures shown on the label.
Driving with under-inflated tyres
increases fuel consumption.
Snow chains
the system does not have to be
r einitialised after fitting or removing
snow chains.
