Distance to empty (dte Ð miles or km)GUID-463716F9-529A-4489-8DA6-E69543606427The distance to empty (dte) mode provides you
with an estimation of the distance that can be
driven before refueling. The dte is constantly
being calculated, based on the amount of fuel in
the fuel tank and the actual fuel consumption.
The display is updated every 30 seconds.
The dte mode includes a low range warning
feature. If the fuel level is low, the warning is
displayed on the screen.
When the fuel level drops even lower, the dte
display will change to ªÐк.
.If the amount of fuel added is small, the
display just before the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position may continue to
be displayed.
. When driving uphill or rounding curves, the
fuel in the tank shifts, which may momenta-
rily change the display.

HOW TO SELECT MENUS ON THE
SCREEN
GUID-716D8DAB-A607-460F-8940-58011D08B09BVehicle functions are viewed on the display
screen in menus. To select each key item,
highlight the preferred item using the multi-
function controller and push the ENTER button.
Whenever a menu selection is made or menu
item is highlighted, different areas on the screen
provide you with important information. See the
following for details.
1. Header:Shows the path used to get to the current
screen. (for example, push SETTING button
> choose ªComfortº menu item.)
2. Menu Selections: Shows the options to choose within that
menu screen.
3. UP/DOWN Movement indicator: Shows that the multi-function controller may
be used to move UP/DOWN on the screen
and select more options.
4. Menu Items Counter: Shows the total number of items listed
across all pages for the current menu (for
example, 3/7) .
5. Footer/Information Line: Provides more information (if available) about the menu selection currently high-
lighted. (for example, Adjust head lamp on
time after shut-off.)

HOW TO USE BRIGHTNESS CON-

Fuel Economy informationGUID-5859B98A-6277-455C-B30C-B3A61F0573E7The approximate distance to empty, average fuel
economy and current fuel economy will be
displayed for reference.
To reset the average fuel economy (Avg Fuel
Econ or Average Fuel Economy) , select the
ªReset Fuel Ecoº or ªResetº key.
If the ªFuel Eco Historyº or ªViewº key is
selected, the average fuel consumption history
will be displayed in graph form along with the
average for the previous Reset-to-Reset period.
The unit can be converted between ªUSº and
ªMetricº. (See ªHow to use SETTING buttonº
(P.4-15) .)
The fuel economy information may differ from the
information displayed on the vehicle information
display. This is due to the timing difference in
updating the information and does not indicate a
malfunction.
For models without the navigation system, the
information can also be displayed by pushing
the
ECON button on the control panel.

.E-15 fuel contains more than 10%
oxygenate. E-15 fuel will adversely
affect the emission control devices
and systems of the vehicle and should
not be used. Damage caused by such
fuel is not covered by the NISSAN new
vehicle limited warranty.
. If a methanol blend is used, it should
contain no more than 5% methanol
(methyl alcohol, wood alcohol) . It
should also contain a suitable amount
of appropriate cosolvents and corro-
sion inhibitors. If not properly formu-
lated with appropriate cosolvents and
corrosion inhibitors, such methanol
blends may cause fuel system damage
and/or vehicle performance problems.
At this time, sufficient data is not
available to ensure that all methanol
blends are suitable for use in NISSAN
vehicles.
If any driveability problems such as engine
stalling and difficult hot-starting are experienced
after using oxygenate-blend fuels, immediately
change to a non-oxygenate fuel or a fuel with a
low blend of MTBE.
Take care not to spill gasoline during
refueling. Gasoline containing oxygenates
can cause paint damage.E-15 fuelGUID-01511866-9AF5-4F1A-A0D8-437144450BBBE-15 fuel is a mixture of approximately 15% fuel
ethanol and 85% unleaded gasoline. E-15 can
only be used in vehicles designed to run on E-
15 fuel. Do not use E-15 in your vehicle. U.S.
government regulations require fuel ethanol
dispensing pumps to be identified with small,
square, orange and black label with the common
abbreviation or the appropriate percentage for
that region.
E-85 fuelGUID-2030B02E-AFA6-4D31-9313-218497CD545AE-85 fuel is a mixture of approximately 85% fuel
ethanol and 15% unleaded gasoline. E-85 can
only be used in a Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) . Do
not use E-85 fuel in your vehicle. U.S. govern-
ment regulations require fuel ethanol dispensing
pumps to be identified by a small, square,
orange and black label with the common
abbreviation or the appropriate percentage for
that region.
Fuel containing MMTGUID-86B49DA8-0A7D-47A0-9E83-473775706A4CMMT, or methylcyclopentadienyl manganese
tricarbonyl, is an octane boosting additive.
NISSAN does not recommend the use of fuel
containing MMT. Such fuel may adversely affect
vehicle performance, including the emissions
control system. Note that while some fuel pumps
label MMT content, not all do, so you may have to consult your gasoline retailer for more details.
Aftermarket fuel additivesGUID-5F922D33-8C8A-4BB1-9C96-A3B00FBB68E5NISSAN does not recommend the use of any
aftermarket fuel additives (for example, fuel
injector cleaner, octane booster, intake valve
deposit removers, etc.) which are sold commer-
cially. Many of these additives intended for gum,
varnish or deposit removal may contain active
solvent or similar ingredients that can be harmful
to the fuel system and engine.
Octane rating tipsGUID-55C61700-70EE-4FB4-AB7F-069574691DFCUsing unleaded gasoline with an octane
rating lower than recommended can cause
persistent, heavy ªspark knockº. (Spark
knock is a metallic rapping noise.) If
severe, this can lead to engine damage. If
you detect a persistent heavy spark knock
even when using gasoline of the stated
octane rating, or if you hear steady spark
knock while holding a steady speed on
level roads, have a NISSAN dealer correct
the condition. Failure to correct the condi-
tion is misuse of the vehicle, for which
NISSAN is not responsible.
Incorrect ignition timing will result in spark
knock, after-run and/or overheating, which may
cause excessive fuel consumption or engine
