For vehicles equipped with the Warmth Com-
fort package: the armrest in the door and thecenter console can also be heated when you
switch on the seat heating of one of the front
seats. This can be set with COMAND (see the
separate operating instructions).
The three red indicator lamps in the button
indicate the heating level you have selected.
The system automatically switches down
from level 3to level 2after approximately
eight minutes.
The system automatically switches down
from level 2to level 1after approximately ten
minutes.
The system automatically switches off
approximately 20 minutes after it is set to
level 1.
The distribution of the heated surfaces on the seat cushions and backrests in the front can
be set via COMAND (see the separate oper-
ating instructions).
Front seats
XTurn the SmartKey to position 1or 2in the
ignition lock (
Ypage 151).
XTo switch on: press button:repeatedly
until the desired heating level is set.

Stowage compartment under the armrest
XTo open:press button :or; and fold the
armrest to the left or right.
Depending on the vehicle's equipment, a USB
port, an AUX-IN jack or a Media Interface are
installed in the stowage compartment. A
Media Interface is a universal interface for
portable audio or video equipment, e.g. for an
iPod
®, iPhone®or MP3 player (see the sepa-
rate COMAND operating instructions).
Stowage compartments in the doors
You can store items such as a rolled up fluo-
rescent jacket and a small umbrella in stow-
age compartment ;in the doors.
In doors :you can store bottles with a capa-
city of up to 34 fl. oz. (1.0 liter).

Important safety notes
GWARNING
If you do not correctly store objects in the
vehicle interior, they can slip or be flung
around, thus striking vehicle occupants.
There is a risk of injury, especially when brak- ing or abruptly changing directions.
RAlways store objects so that they cannot be
flung around in these or in similar situa-
tions.
RAlways make sure that objects do not pro-
trude from stowage compartments, parcel
nets or stowage nets.
RClose lockable stowage compartments
while driving.
RStow and secure objects that are heavy,
hard, pointy, sharp-edged, fragile or too
large in the trunk.
Observe the loading guidelines (Ypage 300).
!Only use the cup holders for containers of
the right size and which have lids. The
drinks could otherwise spill.
!Do not expose drinks bottles in the cup
holder in the center console to continuous,
strong and direct sunlight. The passenger
compartment in the area of the center con- sole can otherwise be damaged by the con-
centrated and reflected sunlight.

out of reach of children. Never leave children
unsupervised in the vehicle.
Your attention must always be focused on the
traffic conditions. Only use the cigarette
lighter when road and traffic conditions per-
mit.

General notes

a maximum draw of 180 W (15A). Accesso-

discharge.
An emergency cut-out ensures that th eon -
boar dvoltage doe sno tdrop to olow. If th eon -
boar dvoltage is to olow, th epower to th e
sockets is automatically cut .Thi sensures
that ther eis sufficien tpower to start th e
engine.
