For details, refer to Section 4, “i-ACTIVSENSE”.
Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) & Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
Make sure that the Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) & Lane Departure Warning
System (LDWS) OFF indicator light in the instrument cluster is turned off. When
the Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) & Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
OFF indicator light is turned on, press the switch and make sure that the indicator
light turns off.
• The vehicle speed is about 60 km/h (37 mph) or faster.
• The driver is operating the steering wheel.
System Operation
The Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) & Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
indication (white) is displayed in the multi-information display, and the system
goes on stand-by.
Drive the vehicle in the centre of the vehicle lane while the system is on standby.
When all of the following conditions are met, the Lane-keep Assist System (LAS)
& Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) indication (green) is displayed in the
multi-information display, and the system becomes operational.
• The system detects white (yellow) lane lines on both the right and left sides.
Other conditions are described in the related text.
When Driving
31For details, refer to Section 4, “Tyre Pressure Monitoring System”, or “Diesel Particulate Filter”.
Diesel Particulate Filter
The diesel particulate filter collects and removes most of the particulate matter
(PM) in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine.
The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors the air pressure of all
four wheels. If the air pressure of one or more tyres is too low, the system warns
the driver by indicating the tyre pressure monitoring system warning light in the
instrument cluster and operating a beep sound.
In the following cases, system initialization must be performed so that the system
operates normally.
• A tyre pressure is adjusted.
• Tyre rotation is performed.
• A tyre or wheel is replaced.
• The battery is replaced or completely drained.
• The tyre pressure monitoring system warning
light is illuminated.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
PM collected by the diesel particulate filter is cleared during normal driving,
however, PM may not be removed and the diesel particulate filter indicator light
may illuminate under the following conditions:
• If the vehicle is driven at 15 km/h (9 mph) or less continuously.
• If the vehicle is repeatedly driven for a short period of time (10 minute or less)
or driven while the engine is cold.
• If the vehicle is idled for a long time.
