Operating the panoramic moon roof after turning the engine off
The panoramic moon roof and electronic sunshade can be operated for approximately
45 seconds after the engine switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It
cannot, however, be operated once the driver’s door is opened. ■
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the panoramic moon roof and the frame in the following
situations, travel is stopped and the panoramic moon roof opens slightly:●
The panoramic moon roof is closing or tilting down. ●
The electronic sunshade is closing. ■
Door lock linked panoramic moon roof operation●
The panoramic moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key.

Operation of each component

Closing both the panoramic moon roof and electronic sunshade
Slide the
switch forward.
The electronic sunshade will close to the half-open position and pause. The panoramic
moon roof will then fully close. Then the electronic sunshade will fully close.■
When the panoramic moon roof or electronic sunshade does not close normally
Perform the following procedure:
Stop the vehicle.
Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
Slide and hold the switch or switch forward. Continue pressing the
switch for approximately 10 seconds afte r the panoramic moon roof or electronic
sunshade closes and reopens. The panoramic moon roof and electronic sunshade
will start to close.
*Check that the panoramic moon roof and electronic sunshade are fully closed and
release the switch.
* : If the switch is released at the incorrec t time, the procedure will have to be per-
formed again from the beginning.
If the panoramic moon roof or electronic su nshade does not fully close even after per-
forming the above procedure correctly, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer. ■
Alarm
The alarm may be triggered if the alarm is set and the panoramic moon roof is closed
using the door lock linked panoramic moon roof operation function. (  P. 76 )■
Panoramic moon roof open warning buzzer
The buzzer sounds and a message is shown on the multi-information display in the instru-
ment cluster when the engine switch is turned off and the driver’s door is opened with the
panoramic moon roof open. ■

Opening and closing the panoramic moon roof ●
The driver is responsible for panoramic m oon roof opening and closing operations.
In order to prevent accidental operation, espe cially by a child, do not let a child oper-
ate the panoramic moon roof. It is possible for children and other passengers to have
body parts caught in the panoramic moon roof.
■
Jam protection function ●
Never use any part of your body to intentio nally activate the jam protection function.●
The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before the
panoramic moon roof or electronic sunshade is fully closed. Also, the jam protection
function is not designed to operate while the switch is being pressed. Take care so that
your fingers, etc. do not get caught.●
Check to make sure that all passengers do
not have any part of their body in a position
where it could be caught when the electronic
sunshade is being operated. ●
Do not let a child operate the electronic sun-
shade. Closing the electronic sunshade on
someone can cause death or serious injury.

moon roof is being operated. ●
When using the wireless remote control or
mechanical key and operating the panoramic
moon roof, operate the panoramic moon roof
after checking to make sure that there is no
possibility of any passenger having any of
their body parts caught in the panoramic
moon roof. Also, do not let a child operate
panoramic moon roof by the wireless remote
control or mechanical key. It is possible for
children and other passengers to get caught
in the panoramic moon roof. ●
When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine
switch off, carry the key and exit the vehicle
along with the child. Th ere may be accidental
operation, due to mischief, etc., that may pos-
sibly lead to an accident.

To prevent burns or injuries
Do not touch the area between the underside of the panoramic moon roof and the
electronic sunshade. Your hand may get cau ght and you could injure yourself. Also, if
the vehicle is left in direct sunlight for a long time, the underside of the panoramic moon
roof could become very hot and could cause burns.
NOTICE ■
To prevent damage to the panoramic moon roof ●
Before opening the panoramic moon roof, make sure that there are no foreign
objects, such as stones or ice, around the opening.●
Do not hit the surface or edge of the panoramic moon roof with hard objects.●
Do not continuously press the switch after the panoramic moon roof has been
fully opened or closed. ■
After the vehicle has been washed or rained on
Before opening the panoramic moon roof , wipe any water off the panoramic moon
roof. Otherwise, water may enter the cabin when the panoramic moon roof is opened.

Things that must not be carri ed in the luggage compartment
The following things may cause a fire if loaded in the luggage compartment:●
Receptacles containing gasoline ●
Aerosol cans ■
Storage precautions
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may prevent the pedals from being depressed properly, may block the
driver’s vision, or may result in items hittin g the driver or passengers, possibly causing
an accident. ●
Stow cargo and luggage in the luggage compartment whenever possible. ●
Do not stack cargo and luggage in the luggage compartment higher than the seat-
backs. ●
When you fold down the rear seats, long items should not be placed directly behind
the front seats. ●
Never allow anyone to ride in the luggage compartment. It is not designed for pas-
sengers. They should ride in their seats with their se at belts properly fastened.●
Do not place cargo or luggage in or on the following locations.
• At the feet of the driver
• On the front passenger or re ar seats (when stacking items)
•On the luggage cover
• On the instrument panel
•On the dashboard ●
Secure all items in th e occupant compartment.■
Capacity and distribution ●
Do not exceed the maximum axle weight ra ting or the total vehicle weight rating. ●
Even if the total load of occupant’s weight and the cargo load is less than the total load
capacity, do not apply the load unevenly. Improper loading may cause deterioration
of steering or braking control which may cause death or serious injury. ■
Roof luggage carrier precautions
Observe the following precautions: ●
Place the cargo so that its weight is distributed evenly between the front and rear
axles. ●
If loading long or wide cargo, never exce ed the vehicle overall length or width.

Before driving, make sure the cargo is secu rely fastened on the roof luggage carrier.●
Loading cargo on the roof luggage carrier will make the center of gravity of the vehi-
cle higher. Avoid high speeds, sudden starts, sharp turns, sudden braking or abrupt
maneuvers, otherwise it may result in loss of control or vehicle rollover due to failure
to operate this vehicle correctly and result in death or serious injury. ●
If driving for a long distance, on rough roads, or at high speeds, stop the vehicle now
and then during the trip to make sure the cargo remains in its place. ●
Do not exceed 165 lb. (75 kg) cargo weight on the roof luggage carrier.

Do not subject the camera sensor to a strong impact. ●
Do not change the installation position or di rection of the camera sensor or remove it.●
Do not disassemble the camera sensor. ●
Do not install an electronic de vice or device that emits strong electric waves near the
camera sensor. ●
Do not modify any components of the vehicle around the camera sensor (inside rear
view mirror, sun visors, etc.) or ceiling. ●
Do not attach any accessories that may obst ruct the camera sensor to the hood, front
grille or front bumper. Contact your Lexus dealer for details. ●
If a surfboard or other long object is to be mounted on the roof, make sure that it will
not obstruct the camera sensor. ●
Do not modify the headlights or other lights.

How to use the camera ●
The parking assist monitor may not oper ate properly in the following cases.
• If the back of the vehicle is hit, the position and mounting angle of the camera may
change.
• As the camera has a water proof construction, do not detach, disassemble or
modify it. This may cause incorrect operation.
• When cleaning the camera lens, flush the camera with a large quantity of water
and wipe it with a soft and wet cloth. St rongly rubbing the camera lens may cause
the camera lens to be scratched and unable to transmit a clear image.
• Do not allow organic solvent, car wax, window cleaner or glass coat to adhere to
the camera. If this happens, wipe it off as soon as possible.
• If the temperature changes rapidly, such as when hot water is poured on the vehi-
cle in cold weather, the system may not operate normally.
• When washing the vehicle, do not apply intensive bursts of water to the camera or
camera area. Doing so may result in the camera malfunctioning.
• When the camera is used under fluorescen t lights, sodium light or mercury light
etc., the lights and the illuminate d areas may appear to flicker.●
Do not expose the camera to strong impa ct as this could cause a malfunction.
If this happens, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer as soon as possible.
