If any of the following messages are displa yed, also refer to this Owner’s Manual.■
If “Shift to P Before Exiting Vehicle” is shown
Message is displayed when the driver’s door is opened without turning the
engine switch off with the shift lever in any position other than P.
Shift the shift lever to P. ■
If “Power Turned Off to Save Battery” is displayed
This message is displayed when the power was cut off due to the automatic
power off function.
The next time the engine is started, increase the engine speed slightly and
maintain it at that spee d for approximately 5 minutes to recharge the battery.■
If “AWD System Overheated Switching to 2WD Mode” or “AWD System
Overheated 2WD Mode Engaged” is displayed (AWD models)
This message may be displayed when driving under extremely high load con-
ditions.
Drive the vehicle at low speeds or stop the vehicle in a safe place with the
engine running until the message is cleared.
If the message is not cleared, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.■
If “A New Key has been Registered Contact Your Dealer for Details” is dis-
played
This message will be displayed each time the driver’s door is opened when the
doors are unlocked from the outside for approximately one week after a new
electronic key has been registered.
If this message is displayed but you have not had a new electronic key regis-
tered, ask your Lexus dealer to check if an unknown electronic key (other than
those in your possession) has been registered. ■
When “Headlight System Malfunctio n Visit Your Dealer” is displayed
The following systems may be malfunct ioning. Have the vehicle inspected by
your Lexus dealer immediately. ●
The LED headlight system ●
The automatic headlight leveling system ●
Automatic High Beam (if equipped) ●
AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) (if equipped)Other messages displayed on the multi-information display

If “Forward Camera System Unavailable” or “Forward Camera System
Unavailable Clean Windshield ” is displayed (if equipped)
The following systems may be suspended until the problem shown in the mes-
sage is resolved. ●

LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist) ●
LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering control) ●
Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range ●

If “Oil Maintenance Required Soon” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil is schedule d to be changed. (The indicator will not
work properly unless the message has been reset.)
Check the engine oil, and change if ne cessary. After changing the engine oil,
the message should be reset. (  P. 5 7 7 )■
If “Oil Maintenance Required” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil should be changed. (After the engine oil is
changed and the message has been reset.)
Check and change the engine oil, and o il filter by your Lexus dealer. After
changing the engine oil, the message should be reset. (  P. 5 7 7 )■
If “Maintenance Required Soon” is displayed (U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance according to the driven distance on the mainte-
nance schedule
* should be performed soon.
Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 km) after the message has been
reset.
If necessary, perform maintenance. Pl ease reset the message after the main-
tenance is performed. (  P. 565)

Indicates that all maintenance is required to correspond to the driven distance
on the maintenance schedule

Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch. When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the engine switch
will turn to IGNITION ON mode.
When the smart access system with
push-button start is deactivated in
customization setting, the engine switch
will turn to ACCESSORY mode.
Firmly depress the brake pedal and check that is shown on the multi-
information display.
Press the engine switch.
In the event that the engine still cannot be started, contact your Lexus dealer.Starting the engine 1

then stop the engine.
If you see steam:
Carefully lift the hood after the steam subsides.
If you do not see steam:
Carefully lift the hood.
After the engine has cooled down
sufficiently, inspect the hoses and
radiator core (radiator) for any
leaks.

RX350_U_OM48E90U Add coolant if necessary. Water can be used in an emergency if
coolant is unavailable.
Start the engine and turn the air conditioning system on to check that the radi-
ator cooling fans operate and to check for coolant leaks from the radiator or
hoses. The fans operate when the air conditioning system is turned on immediately after a
cold start. Confirm that the fans are oper ating by checking the fan sound and air flow.
If it is difficult to check these, turn the air conditioning system on and off repeatedly.
(The fans may not operate in freezing temperatures.)
If the fans are not operating:
Stop the engine immediately an d contact your Lexus dealer.
If the fans are operating:
Have the vehicle inspected at the nearest Lexus dealer.
Check if “Engine Coolant Temp High St op in a Safe Place See Owner’s Man-
ual” is shown on the multi-information display.
If the message does not disappear:
Stop the engine and contact your Lexus dealer.
If the message is not displayed:
Have the vehicle inspected at the nearest Lexus dealer. 5
