Attach the cover.Align the 2 tabs positions and
close the cover.
Fix the cover by pushing the
center of the clip.
Install the engine compartment cover. ( P. 5 0 3 )
■Rear turn signal lights
Open the back door and attach
protective tape around the lamp
body. (Use masking tape, do not
use Duct tape, as duct tape may
leave markings.)
Remove the cover.
It is recommended for safeguarding
to wrap the tip of the screwdriver
with a cloth, etc., in order to prevent
scratches to the vehicle.
Remove the 2 bolts.

■Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by your Lexus
dealer.
●Headlight low beams
●Headlight high beams (LED type)
●Front turn signal lights (LED type)
●Parking lights and Daytime running lights
●Front fog lights
●Front side marker lights (LED type)
●Side turn signal lights
●Stop/tail lights
●Rear side marker lights
●High mounted stoplight
●License plate lights
●Outer foot lights
■After replacing the bulbs
■LED lights
The headlight low beams, headlight high beams (LED Type), front turn signal lights (LED
Type), parking lights, daytime running lights, front fog lights, front side marker lights (LED
Type), side turn signal lights, rear side ma rker lights, stop/tail lights, rear side marker
lights, high mounted stoplight and license plate lights, outer foot lights consist of a num-
ber of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle to your Lexus dealer to have
the light replaced.
■Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not indicate a
malfunction. Contact your Lexus dealer for mo re information in the following situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
●Wa t e r h a s b u i l t u p i nside the headlight.

If you think something is wrong
●Fluid leaks under the vehicle
(Water dripping from the air co nditioning after use is normal.)
●Flat-looking tires or uneven tire wear
●Engine coolant temperature gauge needle continually points higher than nor-
mal
●Changes in exhaust sound
●Excessive tire squeal when cornering
●Strange noises related to the suspension system
●Pinging or other noises related to the hybrid system
●Engine misfire or misses, st umbling or running roughly
●Appreciable loss of power
●Vehicle pulls heavily to one side when braking
●Vehicle pulls heavily to one side when driving on a level road
●Loss of brake effectiveness, spongy feeling, pedal almost touches the floor
If you notice any of the following symptoms, your vehicle probably needs
adjustment or repair. Contact your Lexus dealer as soon as possible.

If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer
sounds
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights comes on or
flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, bu t then goes off, this does not necessar-
ily indicate a malfunction in the system. However, if this continues to occur,
have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

■If “Depress Brake When Vehicle Is Stopped Hybrid System May Overheat” is shown
Message is displayed when the accelerator pedal is depressed to maintain the vehicle
position when stopped on a upward slope, etc.
If this continues, the hybrid system may overheat.
Release the accelerator pedal and depress the brake pedal.
■If “Oil Maintenance Required Soon” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil is scheduled to be changed. (The indicator will not work
properly unless the oil maintenance data has been reset.)
Check the engine oil, and change if necessary. After changing the engine oil, the oil
change system should be reset. ( P. 5 0 6 )
■If “Oil Maintenance Required” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil should be change d. (After the engine oil is changed and the
oil maintenance data has been reset.)
Check and change the engine oil, and oil filter by your Lexus dealer. After changing the

Remove the engine cover.
Connect the jumper cables according to the following procedure:Connect a positive jumper cable clamp to the exclusive jump starting ter-
minal on your vehicle.
Connect the clamp on the other end of the positive cable to the positive (+)
battery terminal on the second vehicle.
Connect a negative cable clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal on the
second vehicle.
Connect the clamp at the other end of the negative cable to a solid, station-
ary, unpainted metallic point away from the exclusive jump starting terminal
and any moving parts, as shown in the illustration.4
