When trouble arises
Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer) Indicates a malfunction in the EP S (Electric Power Steering) sys-
tem
 Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.

PCS warning light Indicates a malfunction in the pre-collision system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the system is
not malfunctioning:
• The light will come on when the TRAC and VSC systems are
turned off. ( P. 2 5 7 )
• The light will come on when the pre-collision braking is disabled.
(  P. 1 8 7 )
• The light will flash when the system cannot temporarily be used. ( P. 1 9 5 )
 Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.
Slip indicator light
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The VSC system;
•The TRAC system; or
• The hill-start assist control system
 Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.
The light will flash when the VSC or TRAC is operating.
Low fuel level warning light
Indicates that remaining fuel is ap proximately 2.6 gal. (9.7 L, 2.1
Imp.gal.) or less
 Refuel the vehicle.
Seat belt reminder light (warning buzzer)*
Warns the driver and/or front passenger to fasten their seat belts
 Fasten the seat belt.
If the front passenger’s seat is occupied, the front passenger’s
seat belt also needs to be fa stened to make the warning light
(warning buzzer) turn off.
Master warning light A buzzer sounds and the warning light comes on and flashes to
indicate that the master warning system has detected a malfunc-
tion.

*: Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer:The driver’s seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert the driver that his or her seat belt
is not fastened. Once the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode, the
buzzer sounds for 6 seconds. If the vehicl e reaches a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h), the
buzzer sounds once. If the seat belt is still unfastened afte r 30 seconds, the buzzer will
sound intermittently for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat belt is still unfastened, the buzzer
will sound in a different tone for 20 more seconds.
The front passenger’s seat be lt warning buzzer sounds to alert the front passenger
that his or her seat belt is not fastened. The buzzer sounds once if the vehicle reaches
a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h). If the seat be lt is still unfastened after 30 seconds, the
buzzer will sound intermittently for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat belt is still unfastened,
the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 20 more seconds.
■SRS warning light
This warning light system monitors the airbag sensor assembly, front impact sensors, side
impact sensors (front door), side impact sensors (front), side impact sensors (rear),
driver’s seat position sensor, driver’s seat belt buckle switch, front passenger occupant
classification system (ECU and sensors), “A IR BAG ON” indicator light, “AIR BAG OFF”
indicator light, front passenger’s seat belt bu ckle switch, seat belt pretensioner assem-
blies, airbags, interconnecting wiring and power sources. ( P. 3 6 )
■Front passenger detection sensor, seat belt reminder and warning buzzer
●If luggage is placed on the front passenger seat, the front passenger detection sensor
may cause the warning light to flash and the warning buzzer to sound even if a passen-
ger is not sittin g in the seat.
●If a cushion is placed on th e seat, the sensor may not detect a passenger, and the warn-
ing light may not operate properly.
■Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
When the battery charge becomes insufficie nt or the voltage temporarily drops, the
electric power steering system warning light may come on and the warning buzzer may
sound.
Tire pressure warning light When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure such as
• Natural causes ( P. 4 7 9 )
•Flat tire ( P. 4 8 5 )
 Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified level.
The light will turn off after a fe w minutes. In case the light does
not turn off even if the tire inflation pressure is adjusted, have the
system checked by your Lexus dealer.
When the light comes on after blinking for 1 minute:
Malfunction in the tire pr essure warning system (P. 4 7 9 )
 Have the system checked by your Lexus dealer.

●Did you press the engine switch while firmly depressing the brake pedal?

●Is the electronic key battery weak or depleted?
In this case, the engine can be started in a temporary way. (P. 500)

●Is the engine switch in IGNITION ON mode?
If you cannot release the shift lever by depressing the brake pedal with the
engine switch in IGNITION ON mode ( P. 4 9 8 )
●It is locked automatically to prevent theft of the vehicle. ( P. 1 5 3 )
●Is the window lock switch pressed?
The power window except for the one at the driver’s seat cannot be operated
if the window lock switch is pressed. ( P. 1 2 9 )
●The auto power off function will be oper ated if the vehicle is left in ACCES-
SORY or IGNITION ON mode (the engine is not running) for a period of

If you think something is wrong
The engine does not start
The shift lever cannot be shifted from P even if you depress the brake
