Features of your vehicle
Make sure to refuel your vehicle
according to the "Fuel requirements"
suggested in section 1.
If the fuel filler cap requires replace-
ment, use only a genuine Kia cap or
the equivalent specified for your vehi-
cle. An incorrect fuel filler cap can
result in a serious malfunction of the
fuel system or emission control sys-
tem.
CAUTION- Exteriorpaint
Do not spill fuel on the exterior
surfaces of the vehicle. Anytype of fuel spilled on paintedsurfaces may damage the paint.
WARNING - Refueling& Vehicle fires
When refueling, always shut the
engine off. Sparks produced by
electrical components related
to the engine can ignite fuel
vapors causing a fire. Once
refueling is complete, check to
make sure the filler cap and
filler door are securely closed,
before starting the engine.
WARNING- Smoking
DO NOT use matches or a
lighter and DO NOT SMOKE or
leave a lit cigarette in your vehi-
cle while at a gas station espe-
cially during refueling.
Automotive fuel is highly flam-
mable and can, when ignited,
result in fire.

Trunk lid (or tailgate)
open warning light
This warning light illuminates when
the trunk lid (or tailgate) is not closed
securely with the ignition switch in
any position.
Door ajar warning light
This warning light illuminates when a
door is not closed securely with the
ignition switch in any position.
Immobilizer indicator (if equipped)
If any of the following occurs in a
vehicle equipped with the smart key,
the immobilizer indicator illuminates,
blinks or goes off.
When the smart key is in the vehi- cle, if the ENGINE START/STOP
button is in the ACC or ON posi-
tion, the indicator will illuminate for
a few minutes to indicate that you
are able to start the engine.
However, when the smart key is
not in the vehicle, if the ENGINE
START/STOP button is pressed,
the indicator will blink for a few min-
utes to indicate that you are not
able to start the engine.
When the ENGINE START/STOP button changes to the ON position
from the ACC position without the
smart key in the vehicle, the indi-
cator blinks for a few minutes to
indicate that you are not able to
start the engine. When the battery is weak, if the
ENGINE START/STOP button is
pressed, the indicator will blink and
you are not able to start the
engine. However, you are able to
start the engine by inserting the
smart key in the smart key holder.
If the smart key system related
parts have a problem, the indicator
will blink.

Electric power steering
(EPS) system warninglight (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates after
the ignition key is turned to the ON
position and then it will go off when
the engine starts.
This light also comes on when the
EPS has malfunctioned. If it comes
on while driving, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia deal-
er.
Fuel cap open warningindicator
This warning light indicates the fuel
filler cap is not tighten securely.
Always make sure that the fuel filler
cap is tight.
ECOMINDER®indicator
(if equipped)
The ECOMINDER®indicator is dis-
played to help you improve fuel effi-
ciency when you are driving.
The ECOMINDER
®indicator will
turn the ECO light green on the
instrument panel when you are
driving efficiently in the ECO ON
mode.
If you don't want the indicator dis-
played, you can turn the ECO ON
mode to OFF mode by pressing
the TRIP button.
When the instant fuel consumption mode(if equipped) is displayed on
the LCD display or the system is
not working properly, the indicator
turns off. If the indicator turns off
when the instant fuel consumption
mode or ECO OFF mode is not
selected, have the system
checked by an authorized Kia deal-
er as soon as possible. Fuel efficiency depends on the dri-
ver's driving habit and road condi-
tion.
The system stops operating when the transaxle is in the P (Park), R
(Reverse), N (Neutral) position or
sports mode, or when the instant
fuel consumption mode is select-
ed.
WARNING -
ECOMINDER®indicator
Don't keep watching the “ECO”
ECOMINDER®indicator while
driving. It may distract you
while driving and cause an acci-
dent.

Door open! (if equipped)
It displays the corresponding door or
tailgate that is not closed securely. Fuel cap open warning (if equipped)
This warning light indicates the fuel
filler cap is not tight securely.
Always make sure that the fuel filler
cap is tight.Align steering wheel (if equipped)
If you start the engine when the
steering wheel is turned 90 degrees
to the left after a couple of seconds,
“Align steering wheel” illuminates on
the LCD display for 5 seconds.
Turn the steering wheel to the right
and make it turned to the left less
than 30 degrees.

Luggage room lamp
The luggage room lamp comes on
when the trunk (tailgate) is opened.
To prevent unnecessary charging
system drain, close the trunk (tail-
gate) securely after using the lug-
gage room.
Vanity mirror lamp
(if equipped)
Push the switch to turn the light on or
off.
: The lamp will turn on if this
button is pressed.
: The lamp will turn off if this button is pressed.
Always have the switch in the off
position when the vanity mirror lamp
is not in use. If the sunvisor is closed
without the lamp off, it may discharge
the battery or damage the sunvisor.
Glove box lamp
The glove box lamp comes on when
the glove box is opened.
To prevent unnecessary charging
system drain, close the glove box
securely after using the glove box.

These compartments can be used to
store small items.
To avoid possible theft, do not leave
valuables in the storage compart-
ment.
Always keep the storage compart-
ment covers closed while driving. Do
not attempt to place so many items
in the storage compartment that the
storage compartment cover can not
close securely.
Center console storage
(if equipped)
To open the center console storage,
pull up the lever.
Glove box
To open the glove box, pull the handle
and the glove box will automatically
open. Close the glove box after use.
Always keep the glove box closed
while the vehicle is in operation.
STORAGE COMPARTMENT
WARNING - Flammable
materials
Do not store, propane cylinders,
or other flammable/explosive
materials in the vehicle. These
items may catch fire and/or
explode if the vehicle is
exposed to hot temperatures for
extended periods.

Clothes hanger (if equipped)
To use the hanger, pull down the
upper portion of hanger.
Floor mat anchor(s)
When using a floor mat on the floor
carpet, make sure it attaches to the
floor mat anchor(s) in your vehicle.
This keeps the floor mat from sliding
forward.

The following must be observed
when installing ANY floor mat to the
vehicle.
Ensure that the floor mats are
securely attached to the vehicle's
floor mat anchor(s) before driving
the vehicle.
Do not use ANY floor mat that can- not be firmly attached to the vehi-
cle's floor mat anchors.
Do not stack floor mats on top of one another (e.g. all-weather rub-
ber mat on top of a carpeted floor
mat). Only a single floor mat
should be installed in each posi-
tion.
IMPORTANT - Your vehicle was
manufactured with driver's side floor
mat anchors that are designed to
securely hold the floor mat in place.
To avoid any interference with pedal
operation, Kia recommends that only
the Kia floor mat designed for use in
your vehicle be installed.
Navigation system (if equipped)
The navigation system ascertains
the present position of your vehicle
by using information from satellites
and guides you to the place you
assign as the destination.
Detailed information for the naviga-
tion system is described in a sepa-
rately supplied manual.
