●In the manual shift mode, the transmis-
sion may not shift to the selected gear.
This helps maintain driving perfor-
mance and reduces the chance of ve-
hicle damage or loss of control.
● When this situation occurs, the CVT
position indicator light will blink and
the chime will sound.
● In the manual shift mode, the transmis-
sion may shift up automatically to a
higher range than selected if the en-
gine speed is too high. When the ve-
hicle speed decreases, the transmis-
sion automatically shifts down and
shifts to 1st gear before the vehicle
comes to a stop.
● CVT operation is limited to automatic drive
mode when CVT fluid temperature is ex-
tremely low even if manual shift mode is
selected. This is not a malfunction. When
CVT fluid warms up, manual mode can be
selected.
● When the CVT fluid temperature is high, the
shift range may upshift in lower rpm than
usual. This is not a malfunction.
Shift lock release
If the battery charge is low or discharged, the
shift lever may not be moved from the P (Park)
position even with the brake pedal depressed
and the shift lever button pushed. To move the
shift lever, perform the following procedure:
1. Push the ignition switch to the OFF or LOCK position.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Remove the shift lock release cover using a suitable tool.
4. Push down the shift lock release using a suitable tool. 5. Push the shift lever button and move the shift
lever to the N (Neutral) position while hold-
ing down the shift lock release. The vehicle
may be moved to the desired location. Re-
place the removed shift lock release cover
after the operation.
If the shift lever cannot be moved out of the P
(Park) position, have the CVT system checked as
soon as possible. It is recommended that you visit
an INFINITI retailer for this service.
WARNING
If the shift lever cannot be moved from the
P (Park) position while the engine is run-
ning and the brake pedal is depressed, the
stop lights may not work. Malfunctioning
stop lights could cause an accident injur-
ing yourself and others.
Accelerator downshift
— in D (Drive) position —
For passing or hill climbing, depress the accel-
erator pedal to the floor. This shifts the transmis-
sion down into a lower gear, depending on the
vehicle speed.

the front of the vehicle at sunrise or sunset.)
● When a sudden change in brightness oc-
curs. (For example, when the vehicle enters

If the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight under
high temperature conditions (over approximately
104°F (40°C)) and then started, the LDW system
may be deactivated automatically, the warning
systems ON indicator on the switch will flash and
the following message will appear in the vehicle
information display. - “Unavailable High Cabin
Temp.”
When the interior temperature is reduced, the
LDW system will resume operating automatically
and the warning systems ON indicator will stop
flashing.
SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
The lane camera unit1for the LDW system is
located above the inside mirror. To keep the
proper operation of the LDW systems and pre-
vent a system malfunction, be sure to observe the
following:
● Always keep the windshield clean.
● Do not attach a sticker (including transpar-
ent material) or install an accessory near the
camera unit.

●Excessive noise will interfere with the
warning chime sound, and the chime
may not be heard.
The LDP system may or may not operate
properly under the following conditions:
● On roads where there are multiple par-
allel lane markers; lane markers that
are faded or not painted clearly; yellow
painted lane markers; non-standard
lane markers; or lane markers covered
with water, dirt, snow, etc.
● On roads where discontinued lane
markers are still detectable.
● On roads where there are sharp curves.
● On roads where there are sharply con-
trasting objects, such as shadows,
snow, water, wheel ruts, seams or lines
remaining after road repairs. (The LDP
system could detect these items as lane
markers.)
● On roads where the traveling lane

● When the vehicle’s traveling direction

While the LDP system is operating, you may hear a
sound of brake operation. This is normal and indi-
cates that the LDP system is operating properly.
SYSTEM TEMPORARILY
UNAVAILABLE
Condition A:
The warning and assist functions of the LDP
system are not designed to work under the fol-
lowing conditions:
● When you operate the lane change signal
and change the traveling lanes in the direc-
tion of the signal. (The LDP system will be
deactivated for approximately 2 seconds af-
ter the lane change signal is turned off.)
● When the vehicle speed lowers to less than
approximately 45 mph (70 km/h).
After the above conditions have finished and the
necessary operating conditions are satisfied, the
warning and assist functions will resume.
Condition B:
The assist function of the LDP system is not
designed to work under the following conditions
(warning is still functional): ● When the brake pedal is depressed.
● When the steering wheel is turned as far as
necessary for the vehicle to change lanes.
● When the vehicle is accelerated during LDP
system operation.

●The radar sensors are designed to ig-
nore most stationary objects, however
objects such as guardrails, walls, foli-
age and parked vehicles may occasion-
ally be detected. This is a normal driving
condition.
● Severe weather or road spray condi-
tions may reduce the ability of the radar
to detect other vehicles.
● The camera may not detect lane mark-
ers in the following situations and the
BSI system may not operate properly.
– On roads where there are multiple parallel lane markers; lane markers
that are faded or not painted clearly;
yellow painted lane markers; non-
standard lane markers; lane markers
covered with water, dirt, snow, etc.
– On roads where discontinued lane markers are still detectable.
– On roads where there are sharp curves.
– On roads where there are sharply contrasting objects, such as shad-

tem may not function properly. – During bad weather (For example:
rain, fog, snow, etc.)
– When driving on slippery roads, such as on ice or snow, etc.
– When driving on winding or uneven roads.
– When there is a lane closure due to road repairs.
– When driving in a makeshift lane.
– When driving on roads where the lane width is too narrow.
– When driving with a tire that is not within normal tire conditions (e.g.
tire wear, low tire pressure, installa-
tion of spare tire, tire chains, non-
standard wheels) .
– When the vehicle is equipped with non-original brake parts or suspen-
sion parts.
● Do not use the BSI systems when tow-
ing a trailer.
● Excessive noise (e.g. audio system vol-
ume, open vehicle window) will inter-
fere with the chime sound, and it may
not be heard.

●When the shift lever is not in the D (Drive) or
Manual mode
● When the parking brake is applied
● When the brakes are operated by the driver
When the COAST/SET switch is pushed under
the following conditions, the system cannot be
set.
A warning chime will sound and a message will
pop up: ● When the VDC system is off (To use the ICC
system, turn on the VDC system. Push the
CRUISE ON/OFF switch to turn off the ICC
system and reset the ICC switch by pushing
the CRUISE ON/OFF switch again.)
For additional information about the VDC
sytem, refer to “Vehicle Dynamic Control
(VDC) system” in this section.
● When ABS or VDC is operating
● When a wheel is slipping (To use the ICC
system, make sure the wheels are no longer
slipping. Push the CRUISE ON/OFF switch
to turn off the ICC system, and reset the ICC
system by pushing the CRUISE ON/OFF
switch again.)

Vehicle detected ahead
When a vehicle is detected in the lane ahead, the
ICC system decelerates the vehicle by control-
ling the throttle and applying the brakes to match
the speed of a slower vehicle ahead. The system
then controls the vehicle speed based on the
speed of the vehicle ahead to maintain the driver
selected distance. NOTE:
● The stoplights of the vehicle come on
when braking is performed by the ICC
system.
● When the brake operates, a noise may
be heard. This is not a malfunction.
When a vehicle ahead is detected, the vehicle
ahead detection indicator comes on. The ICC
system will also display the set speed and se-
lected distance.
Vehicle ahead not detected
When a vehicle is no longer detected ahead, the
ICC system gradually accelerates your vehicle to
resume the previously set vehicle speed. The ICC
system then maintains the set speed.
When a vehicle is no longer detected, the vehicle
ahead detection indicator turns off.
If a vehicle ahead appears during acceleration to
the set vehicle speed or any time the ICC system
is in operation, the system controls the distance
to that vehicle.
When a vehicle is no longer detected under
approximately 15 mph (24 km/h), the system will
be canceled.

The DCA system helps assist the driver to keep a
following distance to the vehicle ahead by brak-
ing and moving the accelerator pedal upward in
the normal driving condition.
When a vehicle is detected ahead:
The vehicle ahead detection indicator comes on.
When vehicle approaches a vehicle ahead:● If the driver’s foot is not on the accelerator
pedal, the system activates the brakes to
decelerate smoothly as necessary. If the ve-
hicle ahead comes to a stop, the vehicle
decelerates to a standstill within the limita-
tions of the system.
● If the driver’s foot is on the accelerator pedal,
the system moves the accelerator pedal up-
ward to assist the driver to release the ac-
celerator pedal.
When brake operation by driver is required:
The system alerts the driver by a warning chime
and blinking the vehicle ahead detection indica-
tor. If the driver’s foot is on the accelerator pedal
after the warning, the system moves the accel-
erator pedal upward to assist the driver to switch
to the brake pedal. The stoplights of the vehicle come on when
braking is performed by the DCA system.
When the brake operates, a noise may be
heard. This is not a malfunction.
WARNING
●
When the vehicle ahead detection indi-
cator light is not illuminated, the system
will not control or warn the driver.
● Depending on the position of the accel-
erator pedal, the system may not be
able to assist the driver to release the
accelerator pedal appropriately.
● If the vehicle ahead comes to a stand-
still, the vehicle decelerates to a stand-
still within the limitations of the system.
The system will release brake control
with a warning chime once it judges the
vehicle is at a standstill. To prevent the
vehicle from moving, the driver must
depress the brake pedal. (The system
will resume control automatically once
the system reaches 3 mph (5 km/h)) . Overriding the system:
The following driver’s operations override the
system operation.
● When the driver depresses the accelerator
pedal even further while the system is mov-
ing the accelerator pedal upward, the DCA
system control of the accelerator pedal is
canceled.
● When the driver’s foot is on the accelerator
pedal, the brake control by the system is not
operated.
● When the driver’s foot is on the brake pedal,
neither the brake control nor the alert by the
system operates.
● When the ICC system is set, the DCA sys-
tem will be cancelled.

2. FEB system warning light
FEB SYSTEM OPERATION
The FEB system will function when your vehicle is
driven at speeds above approximately 3 mph
(5 km/h).
If a risk of a forward collision is detected, the FEB
system will provide an initial warning to the driver
by both a visual and audible alert.
If the driver applies the brakes quickly and force-
fully after the warning, and the FEB system de-
tects that there is still the possibility of a forward
collision, the system will automatically increase
the braking force. If the driver does not take
action, the FEB system issues the second visual
warning (red) and audible warning and also ap-
plies partial braking.
If the risk of a collision becomes imminent, the
FEB system applies harder braking automatically.
NOTE:
The vehicle’s brake lights come on when
braking is performed by the forward emer-
gency braking system.

SYSTEM OPERATION
The PFEB system operates when vehicle speed
is within the range of approximately 5 to 50 mph
(10 to 80 km/h).
(The system will not activate for a stationary ve-
hicle or a pedestrian when the vehicle is driven at
speeds faster than approximately 37 mph
(60 km/h).)
If a risk of a forward collision is detected, the
PFEB system will provide the first warning to the
driver by flashing the warning light, providing an
audible warning and applying partial braking.
If the driver’s collision avoidance operation is not
sufficient and the risk of collision is increased, the
system issues the second visual warning and
audible warning, and applies harder braking im-
mediately before the collision.
NOTE:
The vehicle’s stop lights come on when
braking is performed by the PFEB system.
Depending on vehicle speed and distance to the
vehicle ahead or pedestrian, as well as driving
and roadway conditions, the system may help the
driver avoid a forward collision or may help miti-
gate the consequences if a collision should one
be unavoidable.If the driver is handling the steering wheel, accel-
erating or braking, the PFEB system will function
later or will not function.
The automatic braking will cease under the fol-
lowing conditions:
● When the steering wheel is turned as far as
necessary to avoid a collision.
● When the accelerator pedal is depressed.
● When there is no longer a vehicle or a pe-
destrian detected ahead.
If the PFEB system has stopped the vehicle, the
vehicle will remain at a standstill for approximately
2 seconds before the brakes are released.
PFEB SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
● The multi-sensing front camera unit
does not detect the following objects:
– Children and other people who are of short stature, animals, and
bicycles
– Pedestrians walking at night or in dark areas such as tunnels
– Oncoming vehicles – Crossing vehicles
– Vehicles parked diagonally
● The multi-sensing front camera unit
may not detect a vehicle or pedestrian
ahead in the following conditions:
– Visibility is poor because of bad weather conditions such as rain,
snow, fog, dust storms, sandstorms,
and snowstorms.
– Snow, sand or road spray from trav- eling vehicles.
– The windshield glass in front of the camera is covered with dirt, water
drops, ice, snow, etc.
– The windshield glass in front of the camera is fogged up.
– Strong light (for example, sunlight or high beams from oncoming vehicles)
enters from the front.
– The headlights did not illuminate during the nighttime or in a tunnel, or
the headlight lenses are extremely
dirty.
– Both tail lights of the vehicle ahead do not illuminate at night or inside a
tunnel.
