Power outlet
The power outlet is designed to pro-
vide power for mobile telephones or
other devices designed to operate
with vehicle electrical systems. The
devices should draw less than 10
amps with the engine running.
Digital clock
Whenever the battery terminals or
related fuses are disconnected, you
must reset the time.
WARNING
Do not adjust the clock while
driving. You may lose your
steering control and cause an
accident that results in severe
personal injury or death.

• If the battery is weak or the smart
key does not work correctly, you
can start the engine by inserting
the smart key into the smart key
holder. Push the cover to open the
cover. To eject the smart key from
the smart key holder, press the
smart key inward past the detent
and then pull the key outward.
When you don’t use the smart key

• When the stop lamp fuse is blown
on automatic transmission vehi-
cles, you can't start the engine
normally. Replace the fuse with a
new one. If you are not able to
replace the fuse, you can start the
engine by pressing the engine
start/stop button for 10 seconds
with the engine start/stop button
in the ACC.
CAUTION
Do not press the engine
start/stop button for morethan 5 seconds except whenthe stop lamp fuse is blown.
When you eject the smart key from the smart key holder, pressthe smart key inward and pull itout. If you pull out the smart keyforcibly without pushing thesmart key, the smart key holdermay be damaged and will notoperate normally.

FUSES
A vehicle’s electrical system is pro-
tected from electrical overload dam-
age by fuses.This vehicle has 3 fuse panels, one
located in the driver’s side panel bol-
ster, the others in the engine com-
partment.
If any of your vehicle’s lights, acces-
sories, or controls do not work, check
the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse
has blown, the element inside the
fuse will be melted.
If the electrical system does not
work, first check the driver’s side
fuse panel.
Always replace a blown fuse with
one of the same rating.
If the replacement fuse blows, this
indicates an electrical problem. Avoid
using the system involved and imme-
diately consult an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
Three kinds of fuses are used: blade
type for lower amperage rating, car-tridge type, and fusible link for higheramperage ratings.

WARNING - Fuse replace-
ment
Never replace a fuse with any- thing but another fuse of the
same rating.
A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly a
fire.
Never install a wire or alu- minum foil instead of the prop-
er fuse - even as a temporary
repair. It may cause extensive
wiring damage and a possible
fire.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or anyother metal object to removefuses because it may cause ashort circuit and damage thesystem.

Instrument panel fuse replace-
ment
1. Turn the ignition switch and all
other switches off.
2. Open the fuse panel cover.
3. Pull the suspected fuse straight out. Use the removal tool provided
in the main fuse box in the engine
compartment.
4. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown.
5. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly
in the clips.
If it fits loosely, consult an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
If you do not have a spare, use a fuse of the same rating from a circuityou may not need for operating thevehicle, such as the cigarette lighterfuse.
If the headlights or other electrical
components do not work and the
fuses are OK, check the fuse panel
in the engine compartment. If a fuse
is blown, it must be replaced.

CAUTION
When replacing a blown fuse or relay with a new one, makesure the new fuse or relay fitstightly into the clips. Theincomplete fastening fuse orrelay may cause the vehiclewiring and electric systemsdamage and a possible fire.
Do not remove fuses, relays and terminals fastened withbolts or nuts. The fuses, relaysand terminals may be fas-tened incompletely, and it maycause a possible fire. If fuses,relays and terminals fastenedwith bolts or nuts are blown,consult with an authorizedHYUNDAI dealer.
Do not input any other objects except fuses or relays intofuse/relay terminals such as adriver or wiring. It may causecontact failure and systemmalfunction.

Fuse switch
Always, put the fuse switch at the ON
position.
If you move the switch to the OFF
position, some items such as audio
and digital clock must be reset and
transmitter (or smart key) may not
work properly.
Engine compartment fuse
replacement
1. Turn the ignition switch and allother switches off.
2. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling up. 3. Check the removed fuse; replace it
if it is blown. To remove or insert
the fuse, use the fuse puller in the
engine compartment fuse panel.
4. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly
in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION
Always place the fuse switch inthe ON position while drivingthe vehicle.

Multi fuse
If the multi fuse is blown, it must be
removed as follows:
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Disconnect the negative battery
cable.
3. Remove the fuse panel on the right side in the engine compart-
ment.
4. Remove the nuts shown in the pic- ture above.
5. Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.
6. Reinstall in the reverse order of removal.

If the multi fuse is blown, consult an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
