Gate operator & Canadian
programming
During programming, your handheld
transmitter may automatically stop
transmitting. Continue to press the
Integrated HomeLink
®Wireless
Control System button (refer to the
steps 2 to 3 in the Programming part)
while you press and re-press
("cycle") your handheld transmitter
every two seconds until the frequen-
cy signal is learned. The indicator
light will flash slowly and then rapidly
after a few seconds when success-
fully trained.
Operating HomeLink
®
To operate, simply press and release
the programmed HomeLink®button.
Activation will now occur for the
trained devices (i.e. garage door
opener, gate operator, security sys-
tem entry door lock, home/office
lighting, etc.). For convenience, the
hand-held transmitter of the device
may also be used at any time. Reprogramming a single
HomeLink
®button
To program a device to HomeLink
®
using a HomeLink®button previous-
ly trained, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the desired HomeLink
®button. DO NOT
release the button.
2. The indicator light will begin to flash after 20 seconds. Without
releasing the HomeLink
®button,
proceed to the "Programming"
step 2.
For more questions or comments,
contact HomeLink
®at www.home-
link.comor 1-800-355-3515.
Erasing HomeLink
®buttons
An individual programming cannot
be erased respectively. However, all
three programming can be erased at
the same time by following below
steps;
1. Press and hold the two outer HomeLink
®buttons until the indi-
cator light begins to flash after 10
seconds.
2. Release both buttons. Do not hold for longer than 20 seconds.
The Integrated HomeLink

Control System is now in the training
(learning) mode and can be pro-
grammed at any time by following the
appropriate steps as in the

Convenient features of your vehicle

There are some conditions that can
cause changes to the vehicle mag-
nets, such as installing a ski rack or
a CB antenna. Body repair work on
the vehicle can also cause changes
to the vehicle's magnetic field. In
these situations, the compass will
need to be re-calibrated to quickly
correct these changes. To re-cali-
brate the compass:
1. Press and hold the button formore than 6 seconds. When the
compass memory is deleted, a let-
ter "C" will appear on the display.
2. To calibrate the compass, drive the vehicle in 2 complete circles at
less than 5 mph (8 km/h).
Integrated HomeLink®Wireless
Control System
The HomeLink®Wireless Control
System provides a convenient way to
replace up to three hand-held
radiofrequency (RF) transmitters
with a single built-in device. This
innovative feature will learn the radio
frequency codes of most current
transmitters to operate devices such
as gate operators, garage door
openers, entry door locks, security
systems, and even home lighting.
Both standard and rolling code-
equipped transmitters can be pro-
grammed by following the outlined
procedures. Additional HomeLink
®
information can be found at:
www.homelink.com or by calling 1-
800-355-3515. Before programming HomeLink
®to
a garage door opener or gate oper-
ator, make sure that people and
objects are out of the way from the
device to prevent potential harm or
damage. Do not use HomeLink
®
with any garage door opener that
lacks the safety stop and reverse
features required by U.S. federal
safety standards (this includes any
garage door opener model manu-
factured before April 1, 1982). A
garage door that cannot detect an
object - signaling the door to stop
and reverse - does not meet cur-
rent U.S. federal safety standards.
Using a garage door opener with-
out these features increases the
risk of serious injury or death.
Retain the original transmitter of the
RF device you programmed for use
in other vehicles as well as for future
HomeLink
®programming. It is also
suggested that upon the sale of the
vehicle, the programmed HomeLink
®
buttons be erased for security pur-
poses.

Dual-diagonal braking system
Your vehicle is equipped with dual-
diagonal braking systems. This
means you still have braking on two
wheels even if one of the dual sys-
tems fails.
With only one of the dual systems
working, longer pedal travel and
greater pedal pressure may be
required to stop the vehicle.
Also, the vehicle will not stop in as
short a distance only with one por-
tion of the brake systems working.
If the brakes fail while you are driv-
ing, shift to a lower gear for addition-
al engine braking and stop the vehi-
cle as soon as it is safe to do so.
Anti-lock Brake System(ABS) Warning Light
This warning light illuminates in
one of the following situations:
You turn ON the ignition switch or
Engine Start/Stop button.
- It illuminates for approximately 3seconds and then goes OFF.
There is a malfunction with the ABS (The normal braking system
is still operational without the
assistance of the anti-lock brake
system).
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized
EQUUS dealer.
Electronic Brake forceDistribution (EBD)System Warning Light
These two warning lights illuminate
at the same time while driving in
the following situation:
The ABS and the regular brake
system may not properly operate.
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized
EQUUS dealer.

WARNING

Inoperable conditions of the
Parking Assist System
The Parking Assist System maynot properly operate, when:
1. Moisture is frozen over the sensor.
(It will operate normally again
when the frozen ice melts.)
2. The sensor is covered or blocked with foreign substances, such as
snow or water. (It will normally
operate again when the substance
is removed, and the sensor is no
longer blocked.)
3. The sensor is stained with foreign substances such as snow or
water. (The sensing range will
return to normal when foreign sub-
stances are removed.)
There is a possible malfunctionwith the Parking Assist Systemwhen:
1. The vehicle drives on uneven road
surfaces such as unpaved roads,
gravels, bumps, or slopes.
2. The sensor is interfered with objects, which generate excessive
noise, such as horns, motorcycle
engines, or truck air brakes.
3. Heavy rain or water is sprayed.
4. Wireless transmitters or mobile phones are near the sensor.
5. The sensor is covered with snow.
Detecting range may decrease when:
1. Outside air temperature is
extremely hot or cold.
2. The sensor cannot detect an object, as it is smaller than 39 in (1
m) or narrower than 5.5 in (14 cm)
in diameter.
The following objects may notbe recognized by the sensor:
1. A sharp or slim object, such as
ropes, chains or small poles.
2. An object, such as clothes, spongy material or snow, absorbs the sen-
sor frequency.
Information
1. The warning may not soundsequentially depending on the speed
and shapes of the objects detected.
2. The Parking Assist System may malfunction if the vehicle bumper
height or sensor installation is mod-
ified. Any unauthorized installment
of equipment or accessories may
also limit the sensor performance.
3. Sensor may not recognize objects within 12 in (30 cm), or it may mis-
calculate the distance.
4. When the sensor is frozen or stained with snow or water, the sensor may
be inoperative until the stains are
removed using a soft cloth.
5. Do not push, scratch or strike the sensor with any hard objects that
could damage the sensor surface.
This may damage the sensor.
