• When using the voice recognition
feature, only commands listed
within the user's manual are sup-
ported.
• Be aware that during the opera-
tion of the voice recognition sys-
tem, pressing any key other than
the key terminates voice
recognition mode.
• For superior voice recognition
performance, position the micro-
phone used for voice recognition
above the head of the driver’s seat
and maintain a proper position
when saying commands.
• Within the following situations,
voice recognition may not function
properly due to external sound.
- When the windows and sunroof
are open
- When the wind of the cooling /
heating device is strong
- When entering and passing
through tunnels

• Phone related voice commands
can be used only when a

Wireless Technology phone book,
it takes some time to convert the
phone book data into voice infor-
mation. During this time, voice
recognition may not properly
operate.
• Pronounce the voice commands
naturally and clearly as if in a nor-
mal conversation.

• Do not start the vehicle with the
accelerator pedal depressed.
The vehicle can move and lead
to an accident.
• Wait until the engine rpm is
normal. The vehicle may sud-
denly move if the brake padel
is released when the rpm is
high.

Starting the engine ✽NOTICE
• The engine will start by pressing
the Engine Start/Stop button, only
when the smart key is in the vehi-
cle.
• Even if the smart key is in the
vehicle, if it is far away from the
driver, the engine may not start.
• When the Engine Start/Stop but-
ton is in the ACC or ON position,
if any door is open, the system
checks for the smart key. If the
smart key is not in the vehicle, the
" " indicator will blink and if
all doors are closed, the chime will
also sound for about 5 seconds.
The indicator will turn off while
the vehicle is moving. Keep the
smart key in the vehicle when
using the ACC position or if the
vehicle engine is ON.
Vehicle with manual transaxle:
1.Always carry the smart key with
you.
2.Make sure the parking brake is
applied.
3.Make sure the shift lever is in neu-
tral.
4.Depress the clutch and brake ped-
als.
