Loss of a smart key
A maximum of two smart keys can be
registered to a single vehicle. If you
happen to lose your smart key, it is
recommended that you should imme
diately take the vehicle and remaining
key to your authorized HYUNDAI
dealer or tow the vehicle, if necessary.
Smart key precautions
The smart key will not work if any of
the following occur:
• The smart key is close to a radiotransmitter such as a radio station
or an airport which can interfere
with normal operation of the trans
mitter.
• The smart key is near a mobile two way radio system or a cellular
phone.
• Another vehicle’s smart key is being operated close to your vehicle.
When the smart key does not work
correctly, open and close the door
with the mechanical key. If you have
a problem with the smart key, it is
recommended that you contact an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer. (Continue)(Continue)
If the smart key is in close proximity
to your mobile phone, the signal
could be blocked by your mobile
phones normal operational signals.
This is especially important when the
phone is active such as making and
receiving calls, text messaging,
and/or sending/receiving emails.
Avoid placing the smart key and your
mobile phone in the same pants or
jacket pocket and always try to main
tain an adequate distance between
the two devices.

If the fuel filler cap requires replace
ment, use only a genuine HYUNDAI
cap or the equivalent specified for
your vehicle. An incorrect fuel filler
cap can result in a serious malfunc
tion of the fuel system or emission
control system.
NOTICE
i•When refueling, always move
the shift lever to the P (Park)
position (for automatic
transaxle) or first gear or R
(Reverse, for manual transaxle),
set the parking brake, and place
the ignition switch to the
LOCK/OFF position. Sparks
produced by electrical compo
nents related to the engine can
ignite fuel vapors causing a fire.
•Do not use matches or a lighter
and do not smoke or leave a lit
cigarette in your vehicle while at
a gas station, especially during
refueling.
•Do not over fill or top off your
vehicle tank, which can cause
gasoline spillage.
(Continued)
(Continued)
•If a fire breaks out during refuel
ing, leave the vicinity of the vehi
cle, and immediately contact the
manager of the gas station and
then contact the local fire
department. Follow any safety
instructions they provide.
•If pressurized fuel sprays out, it
can cover your clothes or skin
and thus subject you to the risk
of fire and burns. Always
remove the fuel cap carefully
and slowly. If the cap is venting
fuel or if you hear a hissing
sound, wait until the condition
stops before completely remov
ing the cap.
•Always check that the fuel cap is
installed securely to prevent fuel
spillage in the event of an acci
dent.

The DRL system will turn the dedi
cated lamp OFF when:
1. The headlights or front fog lightsare in the ON position.
2. The engine is turned off.
Headlamp leveling device
To adjust the headlamp beam level
according to the number of the pas

luggage area, turn the beam leveling
switch. The higher the number of the switch
position, the lower the headlamp
beam level. Always keep the head
lamp beam at the proper leveling
position, or headlights may dazzle
other road users.
Listed below are the examples of
proper switch settings. For loading
conditions other than those listed
below, adjust the switch position so
that the beam level may be the near
est as the condition obtained accord
