Features of your vehicle
Electronic power steering (EPS)
The power steering uses a motor to
assist you in steering the vehicle. If
the engine is off or if the power steer-
ing system becomes inoperative, the
vehicle may still be steered, but it will
require increased steering effort.
The motor driven power steering is
controlled by a power steering con-
trol unit which senses the steering
wheel torque and vehicle speed to
command the motor.
The steering becomes heavier as
the vehicle’s speed increases and
becomes lighter as the vehicle’s
speed decreases for optimum steer-
ing control.
Should you notice any change in the
effort required to steer during normal
vehicle operation, have the power
steering checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
✽ ✽NOTICE
The following symptoms may occur
during normal vehicle operation:
• The steering effort is high immedi-
ately after the engine starts. This
happens as the system performs
the EPS system diagnostics. When
the diagnostics is completed, the
steering wheel will return to its
normal condition.
• A click noise may be heard from the EPS relay after the ignition
switch is changed to the ON or
OFF position.
• Motor noise may be heard when the vehicle is at a stop or at a low
driving speed.
• When you operate the steering wheel in low temperature, abnor-
mal noise could occur. If tempera-
ture rises, the noise will disappear.
This is a normal condition. (Continued)(Continued)
• When the vehicle is stationary, if
you turn the steering wheel all the
way to the left or right continuous-
ly, the steering wheel effort
increases. This is not a system mal-
function. As time passes, the steer-
ing wheel effort will return to its
normal condition.
If the Electronic Power Steering
System does not operate normally,
the warning light ( ) will illuminate
on the instrument cluster. The steer-
ing wheel may become difficult to
control or operate abnormally. Take
your vehicle to an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer and have the
vehicle checked as soon as possible.

- The mirror will unfold when youapproach the vehicle (all doors
closed and locked) with a smart
key in possession. (if equipped)
Reverse parking aid function
(if equipped)
While the vehicle is moving rear-
ward, the outside rearview mirror(s)
will move downward to aid reverse
parking. According to the position of
the outside rearview mirror switch
(1), the outside rearview mirror(s) will
operate as follows:
L/R : When the remote control outside
rearview mirror switch is select-
ed to the L (left) or R (right) posi-
tion, both outside rearview mir-
rors will move downward. Neutral
: When the remote control
outside rearview mirror
switch is placed in the mid-
dle, the outside rearview
mirrors will not operate
while the vehicle is moving
rearward.
The outside rearview mirrors will
automatically revert to their original
positions under the following condi-
tions:
1. The ignition switch is in the OFF position.
2. Shift lever is moved to any position except R (Reverse).
3. Remote control outside rearview mirror switch is placed in the mid-
dle.

CAUTION
In case it is an electric type out-side rearview mirror, don’t fold itby hand. It could cause motorfailure.
CAUTION
The electric type outsiderearview mirror operates eventhough the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the OFF posi-tion. However, to prevent unnec-essary battery discharge, do notadjust the mirrors longer thannecessary while the engine isnot running.

The instrument panel illumination
intensity can be adjusted as follows:
Ignition switch in the ON position
Pushing the control switch up ordown
The illumination intensity is shown
on the instrument cluster LCD dis-
play.

Speedometer
The speedometer indicates the vehi-
cle speed.
The speedometer is calibrated in
miles per hour and/or kilometers per
hour.
Tachometer
The tachometer indicates the engine
speed in revolutions per minute
(rpm).
Use the tachometer to select the cor-
rect shift points and to prevent lug-
ging and/or over-revving the engine.

Engine coolant temperature
gauge
This gauge shows the temperature
of the engine coolant when the igni-
tion switch is ON.
Do not continue driving with an over-
heated engine. If your vehicle over-
heats, refer to “If the engine over-
heats” in section 6.
If the segment level moves beyond
the normal range area toward the “H”
position, it indicates overheating that
may damage the engine.
Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge indicates the approx-
imate amount of fuel remaining in the
fuel tank.
The fuel tank capacity is given in sec-
tion 12.
The fuel gauge is supplemented by a low fuel warning light, which will
illuminate when the fuel tank is
nearly empty.
On inclines or curves, the fuel gauge segment level may fluctuate
or the low fuel warning light may
come on earlier than usual due to
the movement of fuel in the tank.
CAUTION - Red zone
Do not operate the engine with-in the tachometer's RED ZONE.This may cause severe enginedamage.

Odometer
The odometer indicates the total dis-
tance that the vehicle has been driv-
en and should be used to determine
when periodic maintenance should
be performed.
CAUTION - Low fuel
Avoid driving with a extremelylow fuel level. Running out offuel could cause the engine tomisfire, damaging the catalyticconverter.
WARNING - Fuel gauge
Stop and obtain additional fuel
as soon as possible after the
warning light comes on or when
the gauge level comes close to
the E level. Running out of fuel
can expose vehicle occupants
to danger.
