Basic HFL Operation
Make and receive phone calls using the vehicle’s audio system, without handling your phone. Visit
handsfreelink.com (U.S.) or handsfreelink.ca (Canada) to check phone
compatibility.
To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain manual functions may be inoperable or grayed out while the vehicle is moving. Stop or pull over to perform the
function. Voice commands are also available.
HFL Controls
Use the controls to enter information and make selections.
Hang-Up/Back button: End or decline a call, or cancel
an operation. Pick-Up button: Answer an incoming call.
Talk button: Access the Voice Portal to make a call
using a stored voice tag, or say voice commands*. button: Press until the phone screen is displayed in the Driver Information
Interface. p / q buttons: Press up or down to navigate the contact list in the Driver
Information Interface. Swipe up or down to scroll through the contact list.ENTER button: From the phone screen in the Driver Information Interface,
select from Speed Dial, Call History, or Phonebook.

Notes: • Any requests that include visual feedback from Siri on your phone are not displayed
in the vehicle.

• If using Siri Eyes Free through Apple CarPlay (see page 65), use the Talk button to

Basic Navigation Operation
A real-time navigation system uses GPS and a map database to show your current
location and help guide you to a desired destination. You can operate the system using voice commands or the system controls.
To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain manual functions may be

Fuse Locations
If any electrical devices are not working, turn the vehicle off and check to see if any
applicable fuse is blown. Fuse locations are shown on the fuse box cover. Locate the
fuse in question by the fuse number and box cover number.

Opening the Hood
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, and set the
parking brake.
2. Pull the hood release handle under the lower left corner of the dashboard.
3. Push the hood latch lever in the center to the right to release the lock mechanism, and open the hood.
4. Remove the support rod from the clamp using the grip. Mount the support rod in the hood.
When closing, remove the support rod, and stow it in the clamp, then gently lower the hood. Remove your hand at a height of approximately 12 inches (30 cm) and let the hood close.
Do not open the hood when the wiper arms are raised. The hood will strike the wipers, and may damage either the hood or the wipers.

Park the vehicle on level ground, and wait approximately three minutes after turning the engine off before you check the oil.
Checking the Oil
1. Remove the dipstick (orange).
2. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth or paper towel.
3. Insert the dipstick back all the way into its hole.
4. Remove the dipstick again, and check the level. It should be between the upper and lower
marks. Add oil if necessary. 1.5 ℓ engine models
