•Viewing a Blu-ray disc on the Touch-Screen radio
screen is not available in all states/provinces, and the
vehicle must be stopped, and the shift lever must be in
the PARK position for vehicles with automatic trans-
mission. In vehicles with manual transmission the
parking brake must be engaged.
DVD Player
Play A DVD
1. Insert a DVD into the VES disc player with the label facing as indicated on the DVD player. The radio
automatically selects the appropriate mode after the
disc is recognized and displays the menu screen, or
starts playing the first track.
2. To watch a DVD on Rear 1 for driver’s side rear passengers, ensure the Remote Control and Head-
phone switch is on Rear 1. 3. To watch a DVD on Rear 2 for passenger side rear
passengers, ensure the Remote Control and Head-
phone switch is on Rear 2.
NOTE:
• To view a DVD on the radio press the MEDIA soft-key
on the radio touchscreen, then touch the disc soft-key.
Press the Play soft-key, then the FULL SCREEN soft-
key.

Dual Video Screen
NOTE:Typically there are two different ways to operate
the features of the Video Entertainment System (VES).
• The Remote Control
• The Touch-Screen Radio (If Equipped)
Play A DVD Using The VES Player (If Equipped)
1. Insert the DVD with the label facing up. The VES
player automatically selects the appropriate mode
after the disc is recognized and starts playing the
DVD. NOTE:
The VES player has basic DVD control function
such as Menu, Play, Pause, FF, RW and Stop.
2. To watch a DVD on Rear 1 for driver’s side passen- gers, ensure the Remote Control and Headphone
switch is on Rear 1.
3. To watch a DVD on Rear 2 for passenger’s side passengers, ensure the Remote Control and Head-
phone switch is on Rear 2.

Compressed Audio Files (MP3 and WMA)
The DVD player is capable of playing MP3 (MPEG-1
Audio Layer 3) and WMA (Windows Media Audio) files
from a CD Data disc (usually a CD-R or CD-RW).
•The DVD player always uses the file extension to
determine the audio format, so MP3 files must always
end with the extension .mp3or.MP3 and WMA
files must always end with the extension .wmaor
.WMA. To prevent incorrect playback, do not use
these extensions for any other types of files.
• For MP3 files, only version 1 ID3 tag data (such as
artist name, track title, album, etc.) are supported.
• Any file that is copy protected (such as those down-
loaded from many online music stores) will not play.
The DVD player will automatically skip the file and
begin playing the next available file. •
Other compression formats such as AAC, MP3 Pro,
Ogg Vorbis, and ATRAC3 will not play. The DVD
player will automatically skip the file and begin play-
ing the next available file.
• If you are creating your own files, the recommended
fixed bit rate for MP3 files is between 96 and 192Kbps
and the recommended fixed bit rate for WMA files is
between 64 and 192Kbps. Variable bit rates are also
supported. For both formats, the recommended
sample rate is either 44.1kHz or 48kHz.
• To change the current file, use the remote control’s or
DVD player ’s button to advance to the next file, or
the button to return to the start of the current or
previous file.
• To change the current directory, use the remote con-
trol’s PROG UP and Down buttons or Rewind/skip
back and fast fwd/skip forward.

Keyless Enter-N-Go
This feature allows the driver to oper-
ate the ignition switch with the push
of a button, as long as the Remote
Start/Keyless Enter-N-Go Key Fob is
in the passenger compartment.
Normal Starting
Using The ENGINE START/STOP Button
1. The transmission must be in PARK or NEUTRAL.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal while pushing theENGINE START/STOP button once.
3. The system takes over and attempts to start the vehicle. If the vehicle fails to start, the starter will
disengage automatically after 10 seconds. 4. If you wish to stop the cranking of the engine prior to
the engine starting, push the button again.
NOTE: Normal starting of either a cold or a warm engine
is obtained without pumping or pressing the accelerator
pedal.
To Turn Off The Engine Using ENGINE
START/STOP Button
1. Place the shift lever/gear selector in PARK, then push and release the ENGINE START/STOP button.
2. The ignition switch will return to the OFF position.
3.
If the shift lever/gear selector is not in PARK, the
ENGINE START/STOP button must be held for two
seconds or three short pushes in a row with the vehicle
speed above 5 mph (8 km/h) before the engine will shut
off. The ignition switch position will remain in the ACC

JUMP-STARTING
If your vehicle has a discharged battery it can be jump-
started using a set of jumper cables and a battery in
another vehicle or by using a portable battery booster
pack. Jump-starting can be dangerous if done improperly
so please follow the procedures in this section carefully.
WARNING!
Do not attempt jump-starting if the battery is frozen.
It could rupture or explode and cause personal injury.
CAUTION!
Do not use a portable battery booster pack or any
other booster source with a system voltage greater
than 12 Volts or damage to the battery, starter motor,
alternator or electrical system may occur.NOTE:
When using a portable battery booster pack
follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions and
precautions.
Preparations For Jump-Start
The battery in your vehicle is located under the passen-
ger’s front seat. There are remote locations located under
the hood to assist in jump-starting.

WARNING!
•Take care to avoid the radiator cooling fan when-
ever the hood is raised. It can start anytime the
ignition switch is ON. You can be injured by
moving fan blades.
• Remove any metal jewelry such as rings, watch
bands and bracelets that could make an inadvertent
electrical contact. You could be seriously injured.
• Batteries contain sulfuric acid that can burn your
skin or eyes and generate hydrogen gas which is
flammable and explosive. Keep open flames or
sparks away from the battery.
NOTE: Be sure that the disconnected ends of the cables
do not touch while still connected to the either vehicle.
1. Set the parking brake, shift the automatic transmission into PARK and turn the ignition to LOCK.

2. Turn off the heater, radio, and all unnecessary electri-cal accessories.

Remove the protective cover over the remote positive
(+) battery post. Pull upward on the cover to remove it.
4. If using another vehicle to jump-start the battery, park
the vehicle within the jumper cables reach, set the
parking brake and make sure the ignition is OFF.
WARNING!
Do not allow vehicles to touch each other as this
could establish a ground connection and personal
injury could result.
Jump-Starting Procedure
WARNING!
Failure to follow this jump-starting procedure could
result in personal injury or property damage due to
battery explosion.
CAUTION!
Failure to follow these procedures could result in
damage to the charging system of the booster vehicle
or the discharged vehicle.
NOTE: Make sure at all times that unused ends of
jumper cables are not contacting each other or either
vehicle while making connections.
