Rear screen demist - Defrost

The demisting/defrosting switches off automatically to   prevent   an   excessive   consumption   of   current.
The rear screen demist - defrost can   only   operate   when   the   engine   is

unning.

ossible,   as   reducing   the   consumption

The   indicator   lamp   in   the   button   comes   on,

hild   lock   is   on.
This
  indicator   lamp   remains   on   until   the   child

ock   is   switched   off.
It is still possible to open the doors from the outside.
Switching off
F With  the   ignition   on,   press   this   button   again.
The   indicator   lamp   in   the   button   goes   off,

ccompanied   by   a   message   to   confirm   that   the  
c

hild   lock   is   off.
This
  indicator   lamp   remains   off   while   the   child  
l

ock   is   switched   off.
Remote
  control   system   to   prevent   opening   of   the   rear   doors   using   their   interior   controls.
Any   other   status   of   the   indicator   lamp  
i

ndicates   a   fault   with   the   electric   child  
l

ock.
Have   it   checked   by   a   CITROËN   dealer  
o

r   a   qualified   workshop.
This   system   is   independent   and   in   no  
c

ircumstances   does   it   take   the   place   of  
t

he   central   locking   control.
Check   the   status   of   the   child   lock   each  t
ime   you   switch   on   the   ignition.
Always
  remove   the   key   from   the   ignition  
w

hen   leaving   the   vehicle,   even   for   a  
s

hort   time.

Distribution of loads
F Distribute  the   load   in   the   trailer   so   that   the  h
eaviest   items   are   as   close   as   possible   to

he   axle   and   the   nose   weight   approaches

he   maximum   permitted   without

xceeding it.
Air
  density   decreases   with   altitude,   thus

educing   engine   per formance.   Above

00 metres,   the   maximum   towed   load   must

e   reduced   by   10 %   for   every   1 000   metres   of

titude.

Side wind

Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases the temperature   of   the   coolant.

  the   fan   is   electrically   controlled,   its   cooling

apacity   is   not   dependent   on   the   engine   speed.

o   lower   the   engine   speed,   reduce   your

peed.
The
  maximum   towed   load   on   a   long   incline

epends   on   the   gradient   and   the   ambient

emperature.

  all   cases,   keep   a   check   on   the   coolant

Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking distance.

o   the   reserve   level,   the   system   switches   to

nergy   economy   mode:   the   power   supply   is

ut   off   automatically   to   preserve   the   remaining

attery   charge.
Avoid
  attaching   heavy   objects   to   the

ey,   which   would   weigh   down   on   its  
b

lade   in   the   ignition   switch   and   could  
c

ause   a   malfunction.
It
  could   adversely   affect   the   deployment

f   the   front   airbag.

When   the   engine   is   hot,   handle   the

xterior   safety   catch   and   the   stay   with

are   (risk   of   burns),   using   the   protected

rea.
When   the   bonnet   is   open,   take   care   not

o   damage   the   safety   catch.
