Removing a wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does not block   traffic:   the   ground   must   be   level,  
s

table   and   not   slippery.
Apply
  the   parking   brake,   switch   off   the  
i

gnition   and   engage   first   gear*   to   block  
t

he   wheels.
Check
  that   the   parking   brake   warning  
l

amp   in   the   instrument   panel   comes   on.
The
  occupants   must   get   out   of   the  
v

ehicle   and   wait   where   they   are   safe.
Ensure
  that   the   jack   is   correctly  
p

ositioned   at   one   of   the   vehicle's  
j

acking   points.
Incorrect
  use   of   the   jack   could   cause  
t

he   vehicle   to   drop.
Never
  go   underneath   a   vehicle   raised  
u

sing   a   jack;   use   an   axle   stand.
List of operations
Do not use a jack other than the one supplied   by   the   manufacturer.

Wheel with wheel trim
When removing the wheel , first
remove   the   wheel   trim   using   the

perture.
When refitting the wheel , refit the
wheel
  trim,   starting   by   placing   its   cutout

n   line   with   the   valve   and   then   pressing  
r

ound   its   edge   with   the   palm   of   your  
han

ool 3   (alloy   wheels).

nd   ensure   that   it   is   directly   below   the

ront A or rear B   jacking   point   provided   on

he   underbody,   whichever   is   closest   to   the

heel   to   be   changed. F
 E xtend   the   jack   2   until   its   head   comes   into   contact   with   the   jacking   point   A or B   used;   the  v
ehicle’s   contact   sur face   at   A or B   must   engage   with   the   central   part   of   the   head   of   the   jack.

aise   the   vehicle   until   there   is   sufficient   space   between   the   wheel   and   the   ground   to   admit   the  
s

pare   (not   punctured)   wheel   easily.
Ensure
  that   the   jack   is   stable.   If   the   ground   is   slippery   or   loose,   the   jack   might   slip   or   drop   -

isk   of   injury!
Take
  care   to   position   the   jack   only   at   one   of   the   vehicle’s   jacking   points   A or B
 

under   the   vehicle,

nsuring   that   the   contact   sur face   of   the   vehicle’s   jacking   point   is   centred   on   the   head   of   the   jack.
 O

ther wise   there   is   a   risk   of   damage   to   the   vehicle   and/or   that   the   jack   might   drop   -   Risk   of   injury!

If your vehicle is fitted with alloy wheels, when   tightening   the   bolts   on   fitting,   it   is

he   wheel   is   secured   by   the   conical

After changing a wheel
When using a "space-saver" type of spare   wheel,   do   not   exceed   50   mph  
(80
  km/h).
Have
  the   tightening   of   the   bolts   and   the

ressure   of   the   spare   wheel   checked  
b

y   a   CITROËN   dealer   or   a   qualified  
w

orkshop   without   delay.
Have
  the   punctured   wheel   repaired  
a

nd   refitted   to   the   vehicle   as   soon   as  
p

ossible.
Stowing the wheel with
punctured tyre
The wheel with punctured tyre can be stowed   under   the   floor,   in   the   housing

or   the   standard   spare   wheel.
To
  stow   an   alloy   wheel,   first   remove   the

he   fixing   parts   (nut   and   bolt)   can   be   put

ust   be   stowed   in   the   boot;   use   a   cover

o   protect   the   inside   of   the   boot.

Snow chains
In wintry conditions, snow chains improve traction as well as the behaviour of the vehicle when braking.Advice on installation

Towing the vehicle
Access to the tools
The towing eye is installed in the boot under the   floor.

emove   the   towing   eye   from   the   holder.
General recommendations
Observe the legislation in force in your country.
E nsure   that   the   weight   of   the   towing   vehicle   is   higher   than   that   of   the   towed   vehicle.
The
  driver   must   remain   at   the   wheel   of   the   towed   vehicle   and   must   have   a   valid   driving  
l

icence.
When
  towing   a   vehicle   with   all   four   wheels   on   the   ground,   always   use   an   approved   towing  
a

rm;   rope   and   straps   are   prohibited.
The
  towing   vehicle   must   move   off   gently.
When
  towing   a   vehicle   with   the   engine   off,   there   is   no   longer   any   power   assistance   for  
b

raking   or   steering.
In
  the   following   cases,   you   must   always   call   on   a   professional   recovery   service:
