When the engine is running at idle, with the brakes released, if position R, D or
M
is selected, the vehicle moves even

ithout the accelerator being pressed.

the engine is running, never

carrying out maintenance with

he engine running, apply the parking

rake and select position P.
If position N
is
selected
inadvertently

driving,
allow

engine

ambient
temperature

23°C,
the
engine
should
be
left
at
idle

four
minutes,
to
ensure
the
correct

There is a risk of damage to the gearbox:

discharged.
If the selector is not in position P

driver's
door
is
opened
or
a
pproximately
45
seconds
after
the

gnition
is
switched
off,
a
warning

essage
appears
in
the
screen.

When
driving
on
flooded
roads
or
when

rossing
a
ford,
proceed
at
walking

ace. To
reduce fuel consumption when at

prolonged standstill with the engine

Stopping the vehicle
Before switching off the engine, you can e ngage position P or N to place the gearbox in
neu
tral.
In
both cases, apply the parking brake to

mmobilise the vehicle.

It
is only possible to change from one gear to
a
nother if the vehicle speed and engine speed

ermit; other wise, the gearbox will operate

el.
If
the engine speed is too low or too high, the
g
ear selected flashes for a few seconds, then
t
he actual gear engaged is displayed.
It
is possible to change from position D
(automatic)
to position M (manual) at any time.
When
the vehicle is stationary or moving
v
ery slowly, the gearbox engages first gear
au
tomatically. With
t he i gnition o n, i llumination o f
t
his warning lamp, accompanied
b
y an audible signal and a message in the
m
ultifunction screen, indicates a gearbox fault.
In
this case, the gearbox switches to back-up
m
ode and is locked in 3rd gear. You may feel
a
substantial knock when changing from P
to R
and from N to R.
This will not cause any
d
amage to the gearbox.
Do
not exceed 60 mph (100 km/h), local speed
r
estrictions
p
ermitting.
Contact
a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
w
orkshop as soon as possible.
This
symbol is displayed if a gear
i
s not engaged correctly (selector
b
etween two positions).
The
sport and snow programmes are
n
ot available when operating manually.

In the event of a fault with the system, the indicator lamp in the "ECO OFF" button
flashes
for a few moments, then comes on
c
ontinuously.
Have
it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a
q
ualified
w
orkshop.
In
the event of a fault in STOP mode, the
v
ehicle may stall. All of the warning lamps
i
n the instrument panel come on. It is then
n
ecessary to switch off the ignition and start
t
he engine again using the key.
Operating fault
The Stop & Start system requires
a 12 V battery with a special
s
pecification
a
nd
t
echnology.
All
work on this type of battery must be
c
arried out only by a CITROËN dealer
o
r a qualified workshop.
For
more information on the 12 V

attery, refer to the corresponding

ection.
Press
this
button
to
deactivate
the
system.
Deactivation
is
confirmed
by
illumination
of
the
i
ndicator
lamp
in
the
button
and
the
display
of
a
message.
Pressing
this
button
again
reactivates
the

ystem.
The
indicator
lamp
in
the
button
goes
off,
a
ccompanied
by
the
display
of
a
message.
Deactivation / Manual
reactivation
In certain cases, such as the need to maintain a comfortable temperature in the passenger
c
ompartment, it may be useful to deactivate the
S
top & Start system.
The
system can be deactivated at any time,
o
nce the ignition is on.
If
the engine is in STOP mode, it then restarts.
The
Stop & Start system is reactivated
a
utomatically every time the ignition is
switched
on.
Opening the bonnet
Before
doing anything under the
b
onnet, deactivate the Stop & Start
s
ystem to avoid the risk of injury
r
elated to an automatic change to
S
TART mode.
Driving on flooded roads
Before
driving through a flooded road,
i
t is strongly recommended that you
d
eactivate the Stop & Start system.
For

Speed limiter
System which prevents the vehicle from exceeding the speed programmed by the driver.
When
the programmed speed limit is reached,
p
ressing the accelerator pedal in the normal
m
anner no longer has any effect.
The
speed limiter is switched on
m
anually:
i
t requires a programmed speed of at least
2
0 mph (30 km/h).
The
speed limiter is switched off by manual
o
peration of the control.
The
programmed speed can be exceeded
t
emporarily by pressing the accelerator firmly.
To
return to the programmed speed, simply
s
low down to a speed below the programmed
s
peed. The
speed limiter cannot, in any
c
ircumstances, replace the need to
r
espect speed limits, nor can it replace the
n
eed for vigilance on the part of the driver.The

Programming Leaving limiter mode
F Turn thumb wheel 1 to the "0" position: t
he speed limiter mode is deselected. The

isplay returns to the distance recorder.
On
a steep descent or in the event of
s
harp acceleration, the speed limiter
w
ill not be able to prevent the vehicle
from
exceeding the programmed speed.
To
avoid any risk of jamming of the
ped
als:

nsure that the mat is secured
c
o r r e c t l y,
-
d
o not fit one mat on top of another.
In
the event of a speed limiter fault, the speed
i
s cleared and the dashes then flash.
Have
it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a

Operating fault
F Set the speed value by pressing button 2 or 3 (e.g.: 55 mph (
90 km/h)).
You
can then change the programmed speed using buttons 2 and 3:

Exceeding the programmed speed
Pressing the accelerator pedal to exceed the programmed speed will not have any effect unless you press the pedal firmly past the point of
resistance .
The

and
the
programmed
speed,

hich is still displayed, flashes, accompanied by an audible signal.
Returning
to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or
u
nintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically cancels the

lashing of the programmed speed and the audible signal stops.

Cruise control
System which automatically maintains the speed of the vehicle at the value programmed

y the driver, without any action on the

ccelerator

al.
The cruise control is switched on
m
anually:

equires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph
(
40 km/h), as well as the engagement of:

f
ourth gear on a manual gearbox,
-
s
econd gear on a or automatic or electronic
g
earbox, in sequential mode,
-
p
osition A on an electronic gearbox or
p
osition D on an automatic gearbox.
The cruise control is switched off
m
anually
o
r by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or on
t
riggering of the trajectory control systems for
s
afety reasons.
It
is possible to exceed the programmed speed
t
emporarily by pressing the accelerator pedal.
To
return to the programmed speed, simply
r
elease the accelerator pedal.
Switching
off the ignition cancels any

rogrammed speed value. The
