8. Pull up on the lever on theback of the seat to release the
seatback. 9. Push the seatback forward to
lay flat.

Head Restraint
Adjustment
Do not drive until the head restraints
for all occupants are installed and
adjusted properly.
To achieve a comfortable seating
position, change the seatback
recline angle as little as necessary
while keeping the seat and the head
restraint height in the proper
position.

Power Mirrors

To adjust the mirrors: 1. Press (1) or (2) to select the driver or passenger side mirror.
2. Press the arrows on the control pad to move each mirror in the
desired direction.
3. Press either (1) or (2) again to deselect the mirror.

The outside mirrors can be folded
inward to prevent damage when
going through an automatic car
wash. To fold, pull the mirror toward
the vehicle. See

To adjust power folding mirrors,
if equipped:
1. Press
{to fold the mirrors
inward.
2. Press
{again to return the
mirrors to the driving position. Heated Mirrors
If equipped, pressing

Steering Wheel
Adjustment
To adjust the steering wheel:
1. Hold the steering wheel and pull the lever.
2. Move the steering wheel up or down.

3. Release the lever to lock thewheel in place.
Tilt and Telescoping Steering
Wheel
To adjust the tilt and telescoping
steering wheel, if equipped: 1. Push the lever (1) down to move the steering wheel
forward or rearward. Lift the
lever (1) up to lock the wheel in
place.
2. Hold the steering wheel and pull the lever (2) toward you to
move the steering wheel up or
down. Release the lever (2) to
lock the wheel into place. Power Tilt and Telescoping
Steering Wheel
To adjust the power tilt and
telescoping steering wheel,
if equipped:
Press the control to move the
steering wheel up and down or
forward and rearward.
Do not adjust the steering wheel
while driving.
Throttle and Brake Pedal
Adjustment
If equipped, the position of the
throttle and brake pedals can be
changed.
The switch used to adjust the
pedals is to the left of the steering
wheel.
Press the switch to the left to move
the pedals closer to your body.
Press the switch to the right to move
the pedals away.

While using Range Selection Mode,
cruise control and the Tow/Haul
Mode can be used.
Grade Braking is not available when
Range Selection Mode is active.

Four-Wheel Drive
If the vehicle has four-wheel drive,
you can send the engine's driving
power to all four wheels for extra
traction.
Automatic Transfer Case
Two Speed Transfer Case
Single Speed Transfer Case
The transfer case knob is to the left
of the steering wheel. Use this knob
to shift into and out of the different
four-wheel drive modes.

m: This setting is used for driving
in most street and highway
situations.
AUTO : This setting is ideal for use
when road surface traction
conditions are variable.

m: Use the Four-Wheel Drive High
position when extra traction is
needed, such as on snowy or icy
roads or in most off-road situations. 4
n:
Vehicles with a two speed
automatic transfer case have a
Four-Wheel Drive Low position. This
setting sends maximum power to all
four wheels. You might choose 4
nif
you are driving off-road in deep
sand, mud, or snow, and while
climbing or descending steep hills.
N (Neutral) : Vehicles with a two
speed automatic transfer case have
a N (Neutral) position. Shift the
transfer case to N (Neutral) only
when towing the vehicle. See

2. Press and slide the batterydown toward the pocket of the
transmitter in the direction of
the key ring. Do not use a
metal object
3. Remove the battery.
4. Insert the new battery, positive side facing up. Replace with a
CR2032 or equivalent battery.
5. Push together the transmitter back cover top side first, and
then the bottom toward the
key ring.
Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System Operation
(Keyless Access)
The Keyless Access system allows
for vehicle entry when the
transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft). See
“Keyless Access Operation” later in
this section.
The RKE transmitter functions may
work up to 60 m (197 ft) away from
the vehicle.
Other conditions can affect the
performance of the transmitter. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System 035.
With Remote Start (without
Remote Start Similar)
/:If equipped, press and releaseQ, then immediately press and hold/until the turn signal flash or for at
least four seconds. The engine may
be started from outside the vehicle
using the RKE transmitter. See
Remote Vehicle Start 043.
Q:Press to lock all doors.
If enabled through the Driver
Information Center (DIC), the turn
signal lamps flash once to indicate
locking has occurred. If enabled
through the DIC, the horn chirps

1. With the key removed, insert aflat, thin object in the center of
the transmitter to separate and
remove the back cover.
2. Lift the battery with a flat
object.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Insert the new battery, positive side toward the back cover.
Replace with a CR2032 or
equivalent battery.
5. Push together the transmitter.
Remote Vehicle Start
If equipped with the remote start
feature, the climate control system
will come on when the vehicle is
started remotely depending on the
outside temperature.
The rear defog and heated and
cooled seats, if equipped, may also
come on. See Heated and Cooled
Front Seats 070 and Vehicle
Personalization 0173.
Laws in some communities may
restrict the use of remote starters.
Check local regulations for any
requirements on remote starting of
vehicles.
Do not use remote start if the
vehicle is low on fuel.
The vehicle cannot be remote
started if:
. The key is in the ignition (Key
Access) or the transmitter is in
the vehicle (Keyless Access).
. The hood is not closed.
. There is an emission control
system malfunction and the
malfunction indicator lamp is on. The engine will turn off during a
remote vehicle start if:
.
The coolant temperature gets
too high.
. The oil pressure gets low.
The RKE transmitter range may be
reduced while the vehicle is running.

Starting the Engine Using Remote
Start
1. Press and release
Q.
2. Immediately press and hold
/
until the turn signal lamps flash
or for at least four seconds.
When the vehicle starts, the
parking lamps will turn on. The
doors will be locked and the
climate control system may
come on.
