front/rear axle output seals. High
pressure water can overcome
the seals and contaminate the
fluid. Contaminated fluid will
decrease the life of the transfer
case and/or drive axles and
should be replaced.
Every 240 000 km/150,000 Miles
. Engine cooling system drain and
refill (or every five years,
whichever occurs first). See
Cooling System 0267. An
Emission Control Service.
. Engine drive belts inspection for
fraying, excessive cracks,
or obvious damage (or every
10 years, whichever occurs

or commercial use vehicles to

‐Ambulances, police cars and
emergency rescue vehicles.
‐ Civilian vehicles such as light
duty pick-up trucks, SUVs and

‐ Recovery vehicles such as
tow trucks and flatbed single
vehicle carriers or any vehicle
that is consistently used in
towing trailers or other loads.
‐ High use commercial vehicles
such as courier delivery
vehicles, private security patrol
vehicles or any vehicles that
operate on a 24 hour basis.
‐ Any vehicle consistently
operated in a high sand or
dust environment such as
those used on oil pipelines
and similar applications. .
Vehicles that are regularly used
for short trips of 6 kilometers
or less
If your vehicle has an Oil Life
Indicator, the indicator will show
you when to change the oil and
filter. Under severe conditions
the indicator may come on
before 10 000 km/6,000 mi. The
indicator won't detect dust in the
oil, so if you drive in a dusty
area you may have to change
the oil and filter sooner than
every 10 000 km/6,000 mi.
Note: All vehicles with
rear-wheel drive —change
driveline axle oil every
30 000 km/19,000 mi if vehicle is
used for towing purposes.

driving conditions listed above, it
may be necessary to replace
your spark plugs at more
frequent intervals. For further

Fluids and lubricants identified below by name, part number, or specification can be obtained from your dealer.Usage Fluid/Lubricant
Engine Oil Use only engine oil meeting the dexos1™ specification of the proper SAE
viscosity grade. Look for the dexos1 approved logo for GM approved
engine oil. See Engine Oil0262.
Engine Coolant 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only DEX-COOL
®Coolant.
See Engine Coolant 0268.
Hydraulic Brake System DOT 3 Hydraulic Brake Fluid (GM Part No. 19299818). Windshield Washer Automotive windshield washer fluid that meets regional freeze protection requirements.
Automatic Transmission DEXRON
®-HP Automatic Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. 19300536).
Chassis Lubrication Chassis Lubricant (GM Part No. 12377985) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI #2, Category LB or GC-LB.
Front Axle (4WD Only) SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. 88900401). Rear Axle SAE 75W-85 Synthetic Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. 19300457).
