tioned when the shoulder support is adjusted.

Fold forward for increased lateral support in

Removing The head restraints cannot be removed.
Rear head restraints
Information WARNING
A missing protective effect due to re‐
moved or not correctly adjusted head re‐
straints can cause injuries in the head and
neck area. There is risk of injuries. Install head
restraints on occupied seats prior to driving
and make sure that the center of the head re‐
straint supports the back of the head at eye
level.◀
WARNING
Objects on the head restraint reduce the
protective effect in the head and neck area.
There is risk of injuries.
▷Do not use seat or head restraint covers.▷Do not hang objects, e.g., clothes hangers,

necessarily available in your car, e. g., due to
the selected options or country versions. This
also applies to safety-related functions and
systems. The respectively applicable country
provisions must be observed when using the
respective features and systems.
Information WARNING
Loose objects in the car's interior can be
thrown into the car's interior while driving, e.g.
in the event of an accident or during braking
and evasive maneuvers. There is risk of inju‐
ries. Secure loose objects in the car's inte‐
rior.◀
CAUTION
Anti-slip pads such as anti-slip mats can
damage the dashboard. There is risk of prop‐
erty damage. Do not use anti-slip pads.◀
Storage compartments The following storage compartments are avail‐
able in the vehicle interior:▷Glove compartment on the driver's and
front passenger side, refer to page 181.▷Storage compartment, refer to page 184,
in the center console for remote control:
Steptronic transmission.▷Storage compartment in the center arm‐
rest, refer to page 182, in the front and
rear.▷Compartments in the doors.▷Pockets on the backrests of the front
seats.▷Net in the front passenger footwell.

A storage compartment is located in the center
armrest between the front seats.

Locking the storage compartment
The storage compartment in the armrest can
be locked with an integrated key to separately
secure the trunk lid, refer to page 47, e.g.
After the storage compartment is locked, the
remote control can be handed out without the
integrated key, refer to page 38, for instance at
a hotel.
This prevents access to the storage compart‐
ment and to the trunk.
Connection for an external audio
device
An external audio device, e.g.,
an MP3 player, can be con‐
nected via the AUX-IN port or the USB audio interface in the
center armrest.
