GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CAR
In-depth knowledge of your new vehicle
starts here.
The handbook that you are reading
simply and directly explains how it
is made and how it works.
That’s why we advise you to read it
seated comfortably on board, so that
you can see what is described here for
yourself.SYMBOLS ...................................... 10

MIRRORS
INTERIOR MIRROR
The mirror is fitted with a safety device
that causes its release in the event of
a violent impact with the passenger.
Lever A fig. 20 can be used to move
the mirror to two different positions:
normal or antiglare.ELECTROCHROMIC
INTERIOR MIRROR
(for versions/markets, where provided)
Some versions have an electrochromic
mirror with automatic antiglare function.
There is an ON/OFF button on the
lower part of the mirror for
activating/deactivating the
electrochromic function. When the
function is active, a LED on the mirror is
active. When reverse is engaged, the
mirror is automatically set for daytime
use.DOOR MIRRORS
With electrical
adjustment
Proceed as follows:
❒select the mirror using selector B
fig.
21;
❒adjust the mirror using the joystick A
fig. 21 in the four directions.

FOLDING THE MIRRORS
When required (for example when the
mirror causes difficulty in narrow
spaces) it is possible to fold the mirror
by moving it from position 1 (open),
to position 2 (closed) fig. 22.
10) 11)
WARNING
10) When driving the mirrors must
always be in position 1.
11) As door mirrors are curved, they
may slightly alter the perception
of distance.

They are located at the sides of the
interior rear view mirror. They can be
adjusted forwards and sideways fig. 34.
The passenger side sun visor includes
a courtesy mirror, lighted by a specific
light that can be switched on using
the button B fig. 34.
The driver and passenger side sun
visors include document pockets.

GLOVE COMPARTMENT
(for versions/markets, where provided)
It is located on the dashboard,
passenger side.
To open the compartment, use the
handle A fig. 35.STORAGE

CONDITIONS OF USE
Cold starting
Short journeys and frequent cold starts
do not allow the engine to reach
optimum operating temperature. This
results in a significant increase in
consumption levels (from +15 to +30%
on the urban cycle) and emissions.
Traffic and road
conditions
High fuel consumption is caused by
heavy traffic, for instance when
travelling in a queue with frequent use
of low gears or in cities with many traffic
lights. Winding mountain roads and
rough road surfaces also adversely
affect consumption.
Stops in traffic
During prolonged hold-ups (e.g. level
crossings) switch off the engine.TOWING TRAILERS
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION
For towing caravans or trailers the car
must be fitted with a certified tow hook
and an adequate electrical system.
Installation should be carried out by
specialised personnel who will issue the
required papers for travelling on roads.
Install any specific and/or additional
door mirrors as specified by the
Highway Code.
Remember that when towing a trailer,
steep hills are harder to climb, braking
distances increase and overtaking
takes longer depending on the overall
weight of the trailer.
Engage a low gear when driving
downhill, rather than constantly using
the brake.
The weight the trailer exerts on the car
tow hook reduces the car's loading
capacity by the same amount. To make
sure that the maximum towable weight
is not exceeded (given in the car
registration document) account should
be taken of the fully laden trailer,
including accessories and luggage.Respect the speed limits specific to
each country for vehicles towing
trailers.
In any case, the top speed must not
exceed 100 km/h.
101) 102)
WARNING
101) The ABS with which the car is
equipped will not control the
braking system of the trailer.
Particular caution is therefore
required on slippery surfaces.
102) Never modify the braking
system of the car to control the
trailer brake. The trailer braking
system must be fully independent
of the car’s hydraulic system.

REPLACING FUSES
GENERAL INFORMATION
Fuses protect the electrical system:
they intervene (blow) in the event of a
failure or improper action on the
system.
When a device does not work, check
the condition of its protective fuse:
the filament A fig. 121 must be intact. If
it is not, replace the blown fuse with
another having the same amperage
(same colour).
117) 118) 119) 120) 121) 122)
B = intact fuse;
C = fuse with damaged filament.
To facilitate fuse replacement, use the
pliers D hooked inside the fuse box
lid on the dashboard left-hand side.Refer to the tables on the following
pages to identify the protective fuse.
FUSE LOCATION
Dashboard fuse box
To access the fuse you must remove
the press-fitted cover E.
The 5 A fuse for door mirror demisting
is located in the diagnosis socket
area, as shown in fig. 122.The fuse box shown in fig. 123 is
located in the lower area next to the
pedal unit.
