OPERATING TIPSGUID-F01F7E65-6E97-46F7-9F01-5BF5D7347BA4When the engine coolant temperature and
outside air temperature are low, the air flow
from the foot outlets may not operate. This is not
a malfunction. After the coolant temperature
warms up, air will flow normally from the foot
outlets.
The sensors
*Aand*Bon the instrument
panel helps maintain a constant temperature. Do
not put anything on or around this sensor.
IN-CABIN MICROFILTERGUID-5220CAC9-8912-4F6F-BE80-7DB91DCC333AThe air conditioning system is equipped with an
in-cabin microfilter which collects dirt, pollen,
dust, etc. To make sure the air conditioner heats,
defogs, and ventilates efficiently, replace the
filter in accordance with the specified main-
tenance intervals listed in the NISSAN Service
and Maintenance Guide. To replace the filter,
contact a NISSAN dealer.
The filter should be replaced if air flow is
extremely decreased or when windows fog
up easily when operating heater or air
conditioning system.
SERVICING AIR CONDITIONERGUID-02BCBA6E-487C-41ED-A2A9-700FF87B2A29The air conditioning system in your NISSAN is
charged with a refrigerant designed with the
environment in mind. This refrigerant will not
harm the earth's ozone layer. However,
special charging equipment and lubricant are
required when servicing your NISSAN air con-
ditioner. Using improper refrigerants or lubri-
cants will cause severe damage to your air
conditioning system. (See ªCapacities and
recommended fluids/lubricantsº (P.9-2) for air
conditioning system refrigerant and lubricant
recommendations.)
Your NISSAN dealer will be able to service your
environmentally friendly air conditioning system.
WARNING
The system contains refrigerant under
high pressure. To avoid personal injury,
any air conditioner service should be
done only by an experienced technician
with the proper equipment.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDEGUID-3C1AA21E-391A-4C5C-A10B-24DFEFCB1A15The system should respond correctly to all voice commands without difficulty. If problems are encountered, try the following solutions.
Where the solutions are listed by number, try each solution in turn, starting with number 1, until the problem is resolved.
SymptomSolution
The system fails to interpret the command
correctly. 1. Ensure that the command is valid. (See ªNISSAN Voice Recognition System (models with navigation system)º (P.4-98) .)
2. Ensure that the command is spoken after the tone.
3. Speak clearly without pausing between words and at a level appropriate to the ambient noise level in the vehicle.
4. Ensure that the ambient noise level is not excessive (for example, windows open or defroster on) . NOTE: If it is too noisy to
use the phone, it is likely that the voice commands will not be recognized.
5. If more than one command was said at a time, try saying the commands separately.
The system consistently selects the
wrong voicetag. 1. Ensure that the voicetag requested matches what was originally stored. (See ªQuick Dialº (P.4-78) .)
2. Replace one of the names being confused with a new name.
The system cannot be operated. Close the soft top (for Roadster models) .

WARNING
.Do not leave children or adults who
would normally require the support
of others alone in your vehicle. Pets
should not be left alone either. They
could accidentally injure themselves
or others through inadvertent op-
eration of the vehicle. Also, on hot,
sunny days, temperatures in a
closed vehicle could quickly become
high enough to cause severe or
possibly fatal injuries to people or
animals.
. Properly secure all cargo to help
prevent it from sliding or shifting.
Do not place cargo higher than the
seatbacks. In a sudden stop or
collision, unsecured cargo could
cause personal injury (Coupe mod-
els) .
. Closely supervise children when
they are around cars to prevent
them from playing and becoming
locked in the trunk where they could
be seriously injured. Keep the car
locked with the trunk closed when
not in use, and prevent children's access to car keys (Roadster mod-
els) .
If the engine oil temperature is high, the
engine protection mode, which helps re-
duce the chance of engine damage, could
activate and automatically decrease en-
gine power. Driving while the engine oil
temperature is high may result in engine
damage.
EXHAUST GAS (carbon monoxide)GUID-AB282403-B1AB-4B2D-A4DD-CC6CC1B09781
WARNING
. Do not breathe exhaust gases; they
contain colorless and odorless car-
bon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is
dangerous. It can cause uncon-
sciousness or death.
. If you suspect that exhaust fumes
are entering the vehicle, drive with
all windows fully open, and have the
vehicle inspected immediately.
. Do not run the engine in closed
spaces such as a garage.
. Do not park the vehicle with the
engine running for any extended
length of time. .
Keep the rear hatch/trunk lid closed
while driving, otherwise exhaust
gases could be drawn into the
passenger compartment. If you
must drive with the rear hatch/trunk
lid open, follow these precautions:
1) Open all the windows.
2) Set the
air recirculation to
off and the fan control to high to
circulate the air.
. The exhaust system and body
should be inspected by a qualified
mechanic whenever:
Ð The vehicle is raised for service.
Ð You suspect that exhaust fumes
are entering into the passenger
compartment.
Ð You notice a change in the sound of the exhaust system.
Ð You have had an accident invol- ving damage to the exhaust
system, underbody, or rear of
the vehicle.
