Yo uc an recognise MOExtende dtyres by the
MOExtende dmarking which appears on the tyre
wall .You will find thi smarking next to the tyre
size designation, the load-bearing capacity and
the speed index.
MOExtende dtyres ma yonlybeu sedinc onjunc-

must be positioned vertically, directly under
the jacking point of the vehicle.
Observe the following when raising the vehi- cle:
R only use the vehicle-specifi cjack that has
been tested and approved by Mercedes-Benz
to rais ethe vehicle. If the jack is used incor-
rectly, it could tip over while the vehicl eis
raised.
R the jack is designed only to rais eand hold the
vehicl efor as hort time while awhee lisb eing
changed. It is not permissibl etouse it to per-
form maintenance work under the vehicle.
R avoi dchanging the whee lonuphill and down-
hill slopes.
R before raising the vehicle, safeguard it from
rolling awaybya pplying the parking brake and
positioning whee lchocks. Do not release the
parking brake while the vehicl eisraised.
R the jack must be placed on afirm, flat and
non-slip surface. On aloose surface, alarge,
flat load-bearing underlay must be used .Ona
slippery surface, anon-slip underlay must be
used ,e.g. rubber mats.
R do not use wooden blocks or similar objects
as ajack underlay.O therwise, the jack willn ot
be abletoa chieve its load-bearing capacity
due to the restricted height.
R make sure that the distance betwee nthe
underside of the tyres and the ground does
not exceed 3cm.
R never place yourh ands or feet under the
raised vehicle.
R do not lie under the vehicle.
R do not start the engine when the vehicl eis
raised.
R do not open or close adoor or the boot lid
when the vehicl eisraised.
R make sure that no persons are present in the
vehicl ewhen the vehicl eisraised.
Vehicles with light-alloy wheels and hub
caps: the whee lbolts are covered by ahub cap.
Before you can unscrew the whee lbolts, you
must remove the hub cap. Two different variants
can be fitted. Vehicles with plastic hub cap:
X To remove: turn the centre cover of hub
cap :anti-clockwis eand remove.
X To fit: before fitting, ensure that hub cap :is
in the open position. To do this, turn the
centre cover anti-clockwise.
X Position hub cap :and turn the centre cover
clockwise until hub cap :engage sphysically
and audibly.
X Make sure that hub cap :is fitted securely. Vehicles with aluminium hub cap:
X To remove: take socket;and whee lwrench
= from the vehicl etool kit (Y page 336).
X Position socket ;on hub cap :.
X Position whee lwrench =on socket ;.
X Using whee lwrench =,turn hub cap :anti-
clockwise and remove it.
X To fit: before fitting, check hub cap :and
the whee larea for dirt and clean if necessary.
X Put hub cap :in position and turn until it is in
the right position.
X Position socket ;on hub cap :.
X Attach whee lwrench =to socket ;and
tighten hub cap :.
