Operating the power windows after tu rning the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
OFF
The power windows can be operated for ap proximately 45 seconds even after the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned OFF.
They cannot, however, be operated once either front door is opened. ■
Jam protection function
If an object becomes caught between th e window and the window frame, window
travel is stopped and the window is opened slightly. ■
When the power window does not close normally
If the jam protection function is oper ating abnormally and a window cannot be
closed, perform the following operations using the power window switch on the rel-
evant door. ●
After stopping the vehicle, the window can be closed by holding the power win-
dow switch in the one-touch closing position while the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode.●
If the window still cannot be closed even by carrying out the operation
explained above, initialize the function by performing the following procedure.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position. Con-
tinue holding the switch for a further 6 seconds after the window has
closed.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening position. Con-
tinue holding the switch for a furt her 2 seconds after the window has
opened completely.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position once
again. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the win-
dow has closed.
If you release the switch while the window is moving, start again from the beginning.
If the window continues to close but then re-open slightly even after performing the
above procedure correctly, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer. STEP 1

CAUTION■
Closing the windows
Observe the following precautions.
Failing to do so may result in death or serious injury. ●
The driver is responsible for all the powe r window operations, including the oper-
ation for the passengers. In order to preven t accidental operation, especially by a
child, do not let a child op erate the power windows. It is possible for children and
other passengers to have body parts caught in the power window. Also, when
riding with a child, it is recommended to use the window lock switch. ( P. 108)●
Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a
position where it could be caught when a window is being operated. ●
When using the smart access system, wireless remote co ntrol or mechanical key
and operating the power windows, operat e the power window after checking to
make sure that there is no possibility of any passenger having any of their body
parts caught in the window. Also, do not let a child operate window by the smart
access system, wireless remote control or me chanical key. It is possible for chil-
dren and other passengers to get caught in the power window. ●
When exiting the vehicle, turn the “ENG INE START STOP” switch off, carry the
key and exit the vehicle along with the child. There may be accidental operation,
due to mischief, etc., that may possibly lead to an accident.■
Jam protection function ●
Never try jamming any part of your body to activate the jam protection function
intentionally. ●
The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before
the window fully closes.

The moon roof can be operated when

Operating the moon roof after turning the “ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even after the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned OFF.
It cannot, however, be operated on ce either front door is opened.■
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while closing or tilting
down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens slightly. ■
If the moon roof cannot be closed automatically
Keep the switch depressed. ■
To reduce moon roof wind noise
When the moon roof is opened automaticall y, it will stop slightly before the fully
open position. Driving with the moon roof in this position can help reduce wind
noise. ■
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will
open automatically when th e moon roof is opened.

Engine immobilizer system
■
System maintenance
The vehicle has a maintenance-free type engine immobilizer system. ■
Conditions that may cause the system to malfunction ●
If the key is in contact with a metallic object ●
If the key is in close proximity to or to uching a key to the security system (key
with a built-in transponde r chip) of another vehicleThe vehicle’s keys have built-in tran sponder chips that prevent the engine
from starting if a key has not been prev iously registered in the vehicle’s on-
board computer.
Never leave the keys inside the ve hicle when you leave the vehicle.
This system is designed to help prev ent vehicle theft but does not guar-
antee absolute security aga inst all vehicle thefts.
The indicator light flashes after

detected.
■ Triggering of the alarm
The alarm is triggered in the following situations wh en the alarm is
set:
● A locked door is unlock ed or opened in any way other than using
the entry function, wireless remo te control or using mechanical
key. (The doors will lock again automatically.)
● The hood is opened.
■ Setting the alarm system
Close the doors and hood, and
lock all doors.
The system will be set automati-
cally after 30 seconds. The indicator light changes from
being on to flashing when the
system is set.
■ Deactivating or stopping the alarm
Do one of the following to deactivate or stop the alarm.
● Unlock the doors.
● Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to ACCESSORY or
IGNITION ON mode, or start the engine. (The alarm will be
deactivated or stopped after a few seconds.)
