When trouble arises
Securely attach cables or chains to
the towing hooks.
Take care not to damage the vehicle
body.
Enter the vehicle being towed and start the engine.
If the engine does not start, turn th e engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
Set the four-wheel drive control switch in H4 and push the center differential
lock/unlock switch to unlock the center differential. ( P. 3 3 6 )
For models with the rear height control air suspension: Change the vehicle
height to N (normal) mode and press the height control OFF button to end
the vehicle height control operation. ( P. 3 3 1 )
Shift the shift lever to N and release the parking brake.
When the shift lever cannot be shifted: P. 5 4 8
■While towing
If the engine is not running, the power assist for the brakes and steering will not function,
making steering and br aking more difficult.
■Wheel nut wrench
Wheel nut wrench is installed in the tool box. ( P. 5 3 4 )

CAUTION
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
■When towing the vehicle
■While towing
●When towing using cables or chains, avoid sudden starts, etc. which place excessive
stress on the towing hooks, cables or chains . The towing hooks, cables or chains may
become damaged, broken debris may hit people and cause serious damage.
●Do not turn the engine switch off.
There is a possibility that the steering wheel is locked and cannot be operated.
NOTICE
■To avoid serious damage to your vehicle
■To prevent body damage when towing with a sling-type truck
Do not tow with a sling-type truck, either from the front or rear.
Be sure to transport the vehicle with all four
wheels raised off the ground. If the vehicle is
towed with the tires contacting the ground, the
drivetrain or related parts may be damaged,
the vehicle may fly off the truck.
Do not use the rear emergency towing hook.

Low speed four-wheel drive indicator light Indicates a malfunction in the four -wheel drive system if the light
continues flashing. ( P. 3 3 6 )
 Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.

Center differential lock indicator light
Indicates a malfunction in the four -wheel drive system if the light
continues flashing. ( P. 3 3 6 )
 Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.
Open door warning light (warning buzzer)*1
Indicates that a door or the glass hatch is not fully closed
 Check that all the doors and the glass hatch are closed.
Low fuel level warning light
Indicates that remaining fuel is a pproximately 3.5 gal. (13.1 L, 2.9
Imp. gal.) or less
 Refuel the vehicle.
Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt reminder light (warning
buzzer)

Warns the driver and/or front passenger to fasten their seat belts
 Fasten the seat belt.
If the front passenger’s seat is occupied, the front passenger’s
seat belt also needs to be fa stened to make the warning light
(warning buzzer) turn off.
Master warning light
A buzzer sounds and the warning light comes on and flashes to
indicate that the master warning system has detected a malfunc-
tion.

Tire pressure warning light
When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure such as
• Natural causes ( P. 5 1 5 )
•Flat tire ( P. 5 3 3 )
 Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified level.
The light will turn off after a fe w minutes. In case the light does
not turn off even if the tire inflation pressure is adjusted, have the
system checked by your Lexus dealer.
When the light comes on after blinking for 1 minute:
Malfunction in the tire pressure warning system
 Have the system checked by your Lexus dealer.

When trouble arises
■If the low speed four-wheel drive indicator light or the center differential lock indicator
light blinks
Take the specified steps. ( P. 3 3 8 )
■When the tire pressure warning light comes on
Check the tire inflation pressure and adjust to the appropriate level.
■The tire pressure warning light may turn on due to natural causes
The tire pressure warning light may turn on du e to natural causes such as natural air leaks
or tire inflation pressure changes caused by temperature. In this case, adjusting the tire
inflation pressure will turn off the warning light (after a few minutes).
■When a tire is replaced with a spare tire
The tire pressure warning light will turn on if the tire inflation pressure of the spare tire is
low. If a tire goes flat, the tire pressure warning light will not turn off even though the flat
tire has been replaced with the spare tire.
■Conditions that the tire pressure warning system may not function properly

■If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking for 1 minute
If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking for 1 minute when the
engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mo de, have it checked by your Lexus dealer.
■Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard due to being in a noisy location or audio
sound.
■Customization
The vehicle speed linked seat belt reminder buzzer can be disabled.
