Instrument cluster
*1: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode toindicate that a system check is being performed. They will turn off after the engine is
on, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if the lights do not
turn on, or turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*2: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*3: The light turns on when the system is turn ed off. The light flashes quickly to indicate
that the system is operating.
*4: In order to confirm operation, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators illumi- nate in the following situations:
• When the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode while the system is set to on.
• When the system is set to on while the engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators
will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators do not illuminate or do not turn off,
there may be a malfunction with the system.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*5: This light illuminates on the outside rear view mirrors.

BSM (Blind Spot Monitor)∗
The Blind Spot Monitor is a system that has 2 functions;
●The Blind Spot Monitor function
Assists the driver in making the decision when changing lanes
●The Rear Cross Traffic Alert function
Assists the driver when backing up
These functions use same sensors.

Driving
Display the Blind Spot Monitor on/off screen.Press the menu switch.
The multi-information display will
change modes to electronic fea-
tures control mode.
Press the “ENTER” switch
upwards or downwards until
“BSM” appears in the multi-infor-
mation display.
Press the “ENTER” switch to change
to “ON”.
The Blind Spot Monitor indicator will
be displayed.
Each pressing of the switch turns the
Blind Spot Monitor on and off.
When on, the buzzer sounds to inform
the driver that the system is operational.
Press the menu switch to change to
the normal display.

■Conditions under which the Rear Cross Traffic Alert function will not detect a vehicle
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert function is not designed to detect the following types of
vehicles and/or objects.
●Small motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians etc.*
●Vehicles approaching from directly behind
●Guardrails, walls, signs, parked vehicles and similar stationary objects*
●Vehicles moving away from your vehicle
●Vehicles approaching from the parking spaces next to your vehicle*
●Vehicles backing up in the parking space next to your vehicle*

: Depending on conditions, detection of a vehicle and/or object may occur.
■Conditions under which the Rear Cross Traffic Alert function may not function cor-
rectly
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert function may not detect vehicles correctly in the following
conditions:
●During bad weather such as heavy rain, fog, snow etc.
●When ice or mud etc. is attached to the rear bumper
●When multiple vehicles approach continuously
●Shallow angle parking
●When a vehicle is approaching at high speed
●When parking on a steep incline, such as hills, a dip in the road etc.
●Directly after the Blind Spot Monitor system turned on
●When your vehicle is towing a trailer
●When items such as a bicycle carrier are installed on the rear of the vehicle
●Directly after the engine is started with the BSM main switch on
●When the sensors cannot detect vehicles
because of obstacles

Indicates a malfunction in the BSM (Blind Spot Monitor)

Indicates abnormal engine oil pressure
The warning light may come on if the engine oil pres-
sure is too low.
A buzzer also sounds.
→ Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and
contact your Lexus dealer.
