■If a warning light comes on, a warning message is displayed, or the 12-volt battery is
disconnected
The hybrid system may not start. In that case, try to start the system again. If the
“READY” indicator does not come on, contact your Lexus dealer.
■Running out of fuel
When the vehicle has run out of fuel and the hybrid system cannot be started, refuel
the vehicle with at least enough gasoline to make the low fuel level warning light
(  P. 506, 528) go off. If there is only a small amount of fuel, the hybrid system may
not be able to start. (The minimum amount of fuel to add to make the low fuel level
warning light go out is about 2.6 gal. [10.0 L, 2.2 Imp.gal.], when the vehicle is on a
level surface. This value may vary when the vehicle is on a slope.)
■Electromagnetic waves
●High voltage parts and cables on the hybr id vehicles incorporate electromagnetic
shielding, and therefore emit approximately the same amount of electromagnetic
waves as conventional gasoline powered vehicles or home electronic appliances.
●Your vehicle may cause sound interference in some third party-produced radio
parts.
■Hybrid battery (traction battery)
The hybrid battery (traction battery) has a limited service life. The lifespan of the
hybrid battery (traction battery) can change in accordance with driving style and
driving conditions.

Warning lights and indicators
◆Instrument cluster
The units used on the speedometer and some indicators may differ depending on
the target region.
◆Center panel
The warning lights and indicators on the instrument cluster, center
panel and outside rear view mirrors inform the driver of the status of
the vehicle’s various systems.
For the purpose of explanation, the following illustration displays all
warning lights and indicators illuminated.

*2: These lights turn on when the power switch is turned to ON mode to indicate that
a system check is being performed. They will turn off after the hybrid system is on,
or after a few seconds. There may be a ma lfunction in a system if the lights do not
come on, or turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*3: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*4: The light comes on when the system is turned off. The light flashes faster than
usual to indicate that the system is operating.
*5: In order to confirm operation, the BSM ou tside rear view mirror indicators illumi-
nate in the following situations:
• When the power switch is turned to ON mode while the BSM main switch is set
to ON.
• When the BSM main switch is set to ON while the power switch is in ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators
will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicato rs do not illuminate or do not turn off,
there may be a malfunction with the system.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

when you start the hybrid system, this co uld mean that these systems are not avail-
able to help protect you in an accident, wh ich could result in death or serious injury.
