CAUTION
■To avoid operating the cruise control by mistake
Switch the cruise control off using the “ON/OFF” button when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for cruise control
Do not use cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in loss of control and could cause an accident resulting in
death or serious injury.
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On winding roads
●On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep hills
Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill.
●During emergency towing

CAUTION
■To avoid inadvertent cruise control activation
Switch the cruise control off using the “ON/OFF” button when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for dynamic radar cruise control
Do not use dynamic radar cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in inappropriate sp eed control and could cause an accident
resulting in death or serious injury.
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On winding roads
●On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep downhills, or where there are sudden changes between sharp up and
down gradients
Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill.
●At entrances to expressways
●When weather conditions are bad enough that they may prevent the sensors
from functioning correctly (fog, snow, sandstorm, heavy rain, etc.)
●When an approach warning buzzer is heard often
●During emergency towing

CAUTION
■Situations unsuitable for LKA
Do not use LKA in any of the following situations.
Otherwise, the system may not function correctly and could result in an accident.
●When driving with snow tires, tire ch ains, a spare tire, or similar equipment
●When the tires have been excessively worn, or when the tire inflation pressure is
low.
●When there are objects or structures along the roadside that might be misinter-
preted as lane markers (such as guardrails, curb, reflector posts, etc.)
●When driving on snowy roads
●When pavement lane markers are difficult to see due to rain, snow, fog, sand, dirt,
etc.
●When there are visible lines on the pavement from road repairs, or if the remains
of old lane markers are still visible on the road
●When driving on slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●When driving in a lane other than the driving or passing lanes on a freeway or
highway
●When driving on a road with lane closures due to maintenance, or when driving
in a temporary lane
●When emergency towing
NOTICE
■To prevent damage to or incorrect operation of the LKA system
●Do not modify the headlights or attach stickers to the surface of the lights.
●Do not modify the suspension. If any suspension part needs to be replaced, con-
tact your Lexus dealer.
●Do not install or place anything on the h ood or the grille. Also, do not install a
grille guard (bull bars, kangaroo bar etc.).
●Do not modify the sun visor. If any sun visor part needs to be replaced, contact
your Lexus dealer.
●If your windshield needs repair s, contact your Lexus dealer.

■Stolen Vehicle Location
If your vehicle is stolen, Safety Connect can work with local authorities
to assist them in locating and recov ering the vehicle. After filing a police
report, call the Safety Connect response center at 1-800-25-LEXUS
(1-800-255-3987) and follow the pr ompts for Safety Connect to ini-
tiate this service.
In addition to assisting law enforcemen t with recovery of a stolen vehi-
cle, Safety-Connect-equipped vehicle location data may, under certain
circumstances, be shared with third parties to locate your vehicle. Fur-
ther information is available at Lexus.com.
■Emergency Assistance Button (“SOS”)
In the event of an emergency on th e road, push the “SOS” button to
reach the Safety Connect response center. The answering agent will
determine your vehicle’s location, assess the emergency, and dispatch
the necessary assistance required.
If you accidentally press the “SOS” button, tell the response-center agent that
you are not experiencing an emergency.
■Enhanced Roadside Assistance
Enhanced Roadside Assistance adds GPS data to the already included
warranty-based Lexus roadside service.
Subscribers can press the “SOS” button to reach a Safety Connect
response-center agent, who can help with a wide range of needs, such
as: towing, flat tire, fuel delivery, etc. For a description of the Roadside
Assistance services and their limitati ons, please see the Safety Connect
Terms and Conditions, which are available at Lexus.com.

7-2. Steps to take in an emergency
If your vehicle needs to be towed
The following may indicate a problem with your transmission. Contact
your Lexus dealer or commercial towing service before towing.
●The engine is running but the vehicle will not move.
●The vehicle makes an abnormal sound.
If towing is necessary, we recommend having your vehicle towed by
your Lexus dealer or commercial towing service, using a wheel-lift type
truck or flatbed truck.
Use a safety chain system for all towing, and abide by all state/provin-
cial and local laws.

Do not overly tighten the tie downs
or the vehicle may be damaged.
If a tow truck is not available in an emergency, y our vehicle may be tempo-
rarily towed using a cable or chain secured to the emergency towing eye-
let. This should only be attempted on hard surfaced roads for 50 miles
(80 km) at low speeds.
A driver must be in the vehicle to steer and operate the brakes. The vehi-
cle’s wheels, drive train, axles, steeri ng and brakes must be in good condi-
tion.
