NOTICE
■Repairing or replacing snow tires
Request repairs or replacement of snow tires from Lexus dealers or legitimate tire
retailers.
This is because the removal and attachment of snow tires affects the operation of
the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters.
■Fitting tire chains
The tire pressure warning valves and transmitters may not function correctly when
tire chains are fitted.
■When standing the windshield wipers up
Raise the wipers in line with the windshield. ( P. 344)
Failure to do so may result in dama ge to the wipers and/or the hood.

The functions can be switched on and off.
Select to set cooling and de humidification function on/off
Adjusting the temperature for driv er and passenger seats separately

Interior features
■Micro dust and pollen filter
Pollen is removed from the air and the air flows to the upper part of the
body.
Select on the option control screen.
When the micro dust and pollen filter is on, is displayed on the air condi-
tioning control screen.
In order to prevent the windshield from fogging up when the outside air is cold,
the dehumidification function may operate.
The pollens are filtered out even if the mi cro dust and pollen filter is turned off.
■Windshield wiper de-icer (if equipped)
This feature is used to prevent ice from building up on the windshield
and wiper blades.
Select on the option control screen.
When the windshield wiper de-icer is on, is displayed on the air condi-
tioning control screen.
The windshield wiper de-icer will automati cally turn off after a period of time.
■Location of air outlets
The air outlets and air volume
changes according to the
selected air flow mode.

CAUTION
■To prevent the windshield from fogging up
●Do not use during cool air operation in extremely humid weather. The dif-
ference between the temperature of the outside air and that of the windshield can
cause the outer surface of the windshie ld to fog up, blocking your vision.
■To prevent burns
●Do not touch the rear view mirror surfaces when the outside rear view mirror
defoggers are on.
●Do not touch the glass at lower part of th e windshield or to the side of the front
pillars when the windshield wiper de-icer is on. (vehicles with windshield wiper
de-icer)
●Do not place anything on the instrument
panel which may cover the air outlets. Oth-
erwise, air flow may be obstructed, pre-
venting the windshield defoggers from
defogging.

CAUTION
■When washing the vehicle
Do not apply water to the inside of the engine compartment. Doing so may cause
the electrical components etc. to catch fire.
■When cleaning the windshield (vehicles with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
●When the upper part of the windshield where the raindrop sensor is located is
touched by hand
●When a wet rag or similar is held close to the raindrop sensor
●If something bumps against the windshield
●If you directly touch the raindrop sensor body or if something bumps into the
raindrop sensor
■Precautions regarding exhaust pipes
Exhaust gases cause exhaust pipes to become quite hot.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch any pipes until they have cooled
sufficiently, as touching hot exhaust pipes can cause burns.
■Precaution regarding the Blin d Spot Monitor (if equipped)
If the paint of the rear bumper is chipped or scratched, the system may malfunc-
tion. If this occurs, consult your Lexus dealer.
Turn off the wiper switch.
If AUTO mode is selected, the wipers may
operate unexpectedly in the following situa-
tions, and may result in hands being caught
or other serious inju ries and cause damage
to the wiper blades.

NOTICE
■To prevent paint deterioration and corrosion on the body and components (alu-
minum wheels etc.)
●Wash the vehicle immediately in the following cases:
• After driving near the sea coast
• After driving on salted roads
• If coal tar or tree sap is present on the paint surface
• If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the paintsurface
• After driving in an area contaminated with soot, oily smoke, mine dust, iron
powder or chemical substances
• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled with dust or mud
• If liquids such as benzene and gasoline are spilled on the paint surface
●If the paint is chipped or scratched, have it repaired immediately.
●To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a place with
low humidity when storing the wheels.
■Cleaning the exterior lights
●Wash carefully. Do not use organic subs tances or scrub with a hard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
●Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
■When using an automatic car wash (vehicle s with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
Turn off the wiper switch.
If AUTO mode is selected, the wipers may operate and the wiper blades may be
damaged.
■When cleaning the windshield
