Driving
■When using the rear view monitor system
The anti-glare function of the inside rear view mirror will be canceled.
■Automatic shut off
The display will be turned off automatically after 5 minutes.
■Display mode
The rear view monitor display mode can be adjusted when the power switch is
in ON mode and the shift position is in R.
●To select a display language (English, French or Spanish).Push and hold the “AUTO” button for 6 to 12 seconds.
The monitor should turn on and the indicator should turn green.
Push the “AUTO” button.
Each time the “AUTO” button is pushed and released, the language will
change.
The warning message should flash 5 seconds after the button is
released, indicating that the change has been completed.
●To permanently disable the monitor.
Push and hold the “AUTO” button for 12 to 15 seconds.
The monitor will turn off and on after 6 seconds. Continue holding the but-
ton down until the display turns back off.
The indicator should flash orange.
The monitor will not automatically turn on again after the power switch is
turned off and ON mode.
●To manually turn on the monitor when it is turned off.
Push the “AUTO” button.
The indicator shou ld turn green.

●Radio ID
You will need the radio ID when activatin g XM service or reporting a problem. If
“Ch000” is selected using the “TUNE•SCRO LL” knob, the ID code, which is 8 alpha-
numeric characters, will be displayed. If anot her channel is selected, the ID code will no
longer be displayed. The channel (000) alternates between displaying the radio ID and
the specific radio code.

●Voice commands may not be recognized if:
• Spoken too quickly.
• Spoken at a low or high volume.
• The roof or windows are open.
• Passengers are talking while voice commands are spoken.
• The air conditioning speed is set high.
• The air conditioning vents are turned towards the microphone.
●In the following conditions, the system may not recognize the command properly and
using voice commands may not be possible:
• The command is incorrect or unclear. Note that certain words, accents or speech patterns may be diffi cult for the system to recognize.
• There is excessive background noise, such as wind noise.
■When searching for a track
●A USB memory or iPod must be connected to enable track searching and playback.

●When a USB memory or iPod is connected, recognition data is created so tracks can
be searched using voice commands.
●Recognition data is updated under the following conditions:
• When the USB memory or iPod data has changed.
• When the voice recognition language is changed. (→ P. 3 2 9 )
●While the recognition data is being created or being updated, a track search cannot be
performed using a voice command.
■The Gracenote® media database

Due to natural language speech recognition technology, this system enables rec-
ognition of a command when spoken naturally. However, the system cannot rec-
ognize every variation of each command.
In some situations, it is possible to omit the command for the procedure and
directly state the desired operation.
This function is available in English, Spanish and French.

After you have signed the Telematics Subscription Service Agreement and are
enrolled, you can begin receiving services.
A variety of subscription terms is available for purchase. Contact your Lexus
dealer, call 1-800-25-LEXUS (1-800-255-3987) or push the “SOS” button in
your vehicle for further subscription details.
■Safety Connect Services Information
●Phone calls using the vehicles Bluetooth® technology will not be possible during Safety
Connect.
●Safety Connect is available beginning Fall 2009 on select Lexus models. Contact with
the Safety Connect response center is dependent upon the telematics device being in
operative condition, cellular connection availability, and GPS satellite signal reception,
which can limit the ability to reach the response center or receive emergency service
support. Enrollment and Telematics Subscrip tion Service Agreement required. A vari-
ety of subscription terms is available; ch arges vary by subscription term selected.
●Automatic Collision Notification, Emergency Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Location
will function in the United States, includ ing Hawaii and Alaska, and in Canada, and
Enhanced Roadside Assistance will function in the United States (except Hawaii) and in
Canada. No Safety Connect services will functi on outside of the United States in coun-
tries other than Canada.
●Safety Connect services are not subject to section 255 of the Telecommunications Act
and the device is not TTY compatible.
■Languages
The Safety Connect response center will offe r support in multiple languages. The Safety
Connect system will offer voice prompts in English and Spanish. Please indicate your lan-
guage of choice when enrolling.
■When contacting the response center
You may be unable to contact the resp onse center if the network is busy.
