Audio system
Display settings
Go to “Display”: “MENU” button
→ “Display”
Tu r n o f f s c r e e n .
Adjust screen quality.
Adjust screen quality of the rear
view monitor camera.
Change to day mode.
This setting turns the screen off. To tu rn it on, press any button such as the
“AUDIO” button or “MENU” button.
If a screen off image has been set, the set image will be displayed.
When the headlights are turned on, the screen dims.
However, the screen can be switched to day mode by selecting “Day Mode”.
The screen will stay in day mode when the headlights are turned on until “Day Mode”
is selected again.
Select “General” or “Camera” on the “Display” screen or select “Display” on
each audio menu screen. ( →P. 3 3 8 )
Adjust the display as desired by turnin g the controller clockwise (+) or coun-
terclockwise (-).
To select “Contrast”, “Brightness”, “Color” or “Tone”, move the controller to the left.
(“Colour” and “Tone” are available when “Display” on the audio settings screen for
each audio source is selected.)
■Changing the sample image (when “General” is selected)
Move the controller to the right and select the desired sample image.
Settings are available for adjusting the contrast and brightness of the screen.
The display can also be turned off.

Check the wattage of the light bulb to be replaced. (

XVehicles with halogen headlights
You may replace the following bulbs by yourself. The difficulty level of replace-
ment varies depending on the bulb. If necessary bulb replacement seems diffi-
cult to perform, contact your Lexus dealer.
For more information about replacing other light bulbs, contact your Lexus
dealer.

Maintenance and care
■Headlight low beams (halogen headlights)Unplug the connector while
pressing the lock release.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Set the new light bulb.
Align the 3 tabs on the light bulb with
the mounting, and insert. Turn it
clockwise to set.
Set the connector.
After installing the connector, shake
the bulb base gently to check that it is
not loose, turn the headlight low
beams on once and visually confirm
that no light is leaking through the
mounting.

■Headlight high beams (halogen headlights)
For the right side only: Move the
washer fluid filler opening.
Unplug the connector while
pressing the lock release.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Set the new light bulb.
Align the 3 tabs on the light bulb with
the mounting, and insert. Turn it
clockwise to set.

After installing the connector, shake
the bulb base gently to check that it is
not loose, turn the headlight high
beams on once and visually confirm
that no light is leaking through the
mounting.
For the right side only: Reinstall the washer fluid filler opening.
■Headlight high beams (LED headlights)Turn the cover counterclockwise
and remove it.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Unplug the connector while pull-
ing the lock release.

Reinstall the fender liner with 2
screws, a bolt and clip.

wise.
Remove the light bulb.

When trouble arises
8-2. Steps to take in an emergency
If the hybrid system will not start
One of the following may be the cause of the problem:
●The electronic key may not be functioning properly.* (→ P. 559)
●There may not be sufficient fuel in the vehicle’s tank.
Refuel the vehicle. ( →P. 7 0 )
●There may be a malfunction in the immobilizer system.* (→ P. 7 3 )
●There may be a malfunction in the shift control system.* (→ P. 1 5 8 , 5 3 7 )
●The hybrid system may be malfunctioning due to an electrical problem such
as electronic key battery depletion or a blown fuse. However, depending on
the type of malfunction, an interim measure is available to start the hybrid sys-
tem. ( →P. 5 5 8 )
*: It may not be possible to shift the shift position other than P.
One of the following may be the cause of the problem:
●The 12-volt battery may be discharged. ( →P. 5 6 1 )
●The 12-volt battery terminal connec tions may be loose or corroded.
( → P. 484)
Reasons for the hybrid system not starting vary depending on the situation.
Check the following and perform the appropriate procedure:
The hybrid system will not start ev en though the correct starting proce-
dure is being followed. ( →P. 156)
The interior lights and headlights are dim, or the horn does not sound or
sounds at a low volume.
