To cancel cruise control, do
one of the following:
Depress the brake pedal.
Shift into N (Neutral) with an auto-matic transaxle.
Move up the lever (to CANCEL) located on the steering wheel.
Decrease the vehicle speed lower than the memory speed by 20
km/h (12 mph).
Decrease the vehicle speed to less than approximately 30 km/h (20
mph).
Increasing the vehicle speed to more than approximately 200 km/h
(125 mph). The ESC is operating.
Downshifting to the 2nd gear with
manual mode.
Operating the EPB switch. Do not operate the parking brake while
driving except in an emergency sit-
uation.
Each of these actions will cancelcruise control operation (the
SET
speed in the instrument cluster willgo off), but it will not turn the systemoff. If you wish to resume cruise con-trol operation, move up the lever (toRES+) located on your steeringwheel. You will return to your previ-ously preset speed.
To resume cruising speed at
more than approximately 30
km/h (20 mph):
If any method other than the
CRUISE lever was used to cancel
cruising speed and the system is still
activated, the most recent set speed
will automatically resume when you
move the lever up (to RES+).
It will not resume, however, if the
vehicle speed has dropped below
approximately 30 km/h (20 mph).

Always check the road conditions
when you move the lever up (to
RES+) to resume the speed.
To turn cruise control off, do
one of the following:
Move the lever up (to CRUISE).
(the CRUISE indicator light in the
instrument cluster will go off)
Turn the Engine Start / Stop Button off.
Both of these actions cancel cruisecontrol operation. If you want toresume cruise control operation,repeat the steps provided in “To setcruise control speed” on the previouspage.

vehicle to maintain a set speed so
long as it is not limited by traffic.
When traffic is encountered the vehi-
cle will slow down to maintain a set
distance behind traffic without
depressing the accelerator or brake
pedal.
Use the ASCC only when traveling
on open highways in good weather.

vation.
If the ASCC is left on, (CRUISE
indicator light in the instrument
cluster illuminated) the ASCC
can be activated unintentional-
ly. Keep the ASCC off (CRUISE
indicator light OFF) when the
ASCC is not in use, to avoid
inadvertently setting a speed
which can increase the risk of
accidents.

The advanced smart cruisecontrol is a supplemental sys-
tem and is not a substitute for
safe driving practices. It is the
responsibility of the driver to
always check the speed and
distance to the vehicle ahead.
Do not use the advanced smart cruise control when it
may not be safe to keep the
car at a constant speed, for
instance, driving in heavy or
varying traffic, or on slippery
(rainy, icy or snow-covered) or
winding roads or steep hills
up-hill or down-hill roads.

Speed setting (ASCC)
To set cruise control speed:
1.Move the lever up (to CRUISE), toturn the system on. The CRUISE
indicator light in the instrument
cluster will illuminate.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed. 30 km/h (20 mph) ~ 180 km/h (110 mph) : when there is no
vehicle in front
0 km/h (0 mph) ~ 180 km/h (110 mph) : when there is a vehi-
cle in front 3.Lever must be moved down (to
SET-) prior to setting any desired
speed. The set speed and vehicle
to vehicle distance on the LCD
screen will illuminate.
4.Release the accelerator pedal. The desired speed will automatically be
maintained.
If there is a vehicle in front of you, thespeed may decrease to maintain thedistance to the vehicle ahead.
On a steep grade, the vehicle mayslow down or speed up slightly whilegoing uphill or downhill. To increase cruise control set
speed:
Follow either of these procedures:
Move the lever up (to RES+), and hold it. Your vehicle set speed will
increase by 10 km/h (5 mph).
Release the lever at the speed you
want.
Move the lever up (to RES+), and release it immediately. The cruising
speed will increase by 1.0 km/h (1
mph) each time you move the lever
up (to RES+) in this manner.
ASCC will operate to a maximum setting of 180 km/h (110 mph).
However all local speed limit laws
must be followed.

If the system does not work properly,
a warning message will appear and
the light on the switch will turn off.
The system will turn off automatical-
ly.
Have your vehicle inspected by an
authorized Kia Premium dealer.
RCTA (Rear cross traffic alert)
When your vehicle moves backwards
from a parking position, the sensor
detects approaching vehicles to the
left or right side direction and gives
information to the driver.
Operating conditions
Select RCTA (Rear Cross TrafficAlert) in "User Settings" under
"Driving Assist" on the instrument
cluster. The system will turn on and
standby to activate.
Select RCTA again, to turn the sys- tem off.
If the vehicle is turned off and on again, the RCTA system will return
to the state right before the vehicle
was turned off. Always turn the
RCTA system off when not in use.
The system is operated when the vehicle speed is below 10 km/h
(6.2 mph) with the shift lever in R
(Reverse).
