Hybrid Awareness
Your vehicle is virtually silent in the electric mode. If you exit your \
vehicle while it is ON but the
engine is not running, the engine will automatically start, informing yo\
u that the car is still ON.
Do not store your INFINITI Intelligent Key within the detection range of\
the vehicle. This may
cause welcome lights and other functions to activate, creating unwanted \
battery drain.
The hybrid system is designed for optimum efficiency and performance. Ac\
tivation of the
electric mode may vary with driving conditions and driver input. A full \
battery display does
not indicate the vehicle should be in the electric mode.
The ready to drive indicator light illuminates when the hybrid system is powered and the
vehicle may be driven.

Direct Response Hybrid™ System Warning Light
This light will illuminate when the ignition switch is in the ON positio\
n
and will extinguish when the hybrid system is started.
The light will also illuminate when a malfunction occurs in the electric\

motor or hybrid system.
When this light illuminates while driving, immediately stop the vehicle \
in a safe location and
contact an INFINITI retailer.
If the hybrid system warning light blinks while driving, it may indicate\
that the Li-ion battery
charge is low and you cannot continue to drive.

Loose Fuel Cap
A LOOSE FUEL CAP warning message will appear in
the vehicle information display 1 when the fuel-filler
cap is not tightened correctly.
To tighten, turn the cap clockwise until a single click
is heard.
The warning message will extinguish when the
vehicle detects the fuel-filler cap is properly tightened
and the or button 2 is pressed.
If the cap is not properly tightened, the Malfunction
Indicator Light may illuminate.

INFINITI Intelligent Key System
The INFINITI Intelligent Key system allows you to lock or
unlock the vehicle, open the trunk and start the engine. It is
important to make sure the Intelligent Key is with you (that
is, in your pocket or purse).
The operating range of the Intelligent Key is within
31.5 in (80 cm) from each request switch.
LOCKING AND UNLOCKING DOORS
Using Intelligent Key:
• Touch the inside of the door handle 1 to unlock the
corresponding front door.
• Pressing the request switch 2 while touching the
inside of the door handle will unlock the rest of
the doors.
• To lock the vehicle, push either door handle request
switch 3 once.
• Change vehicle settings to unlock all doors by touching the inside of
the door handle 1. For more information, refer to the “Information
and settings (section 8)” of your Owner’s Manual.
Using Key Fob:
• Press the button 5 on the key fob to unlock the driver’s door.
• Press the button 5 again; all other doors will unlock.
• Press the button 4 on the key fob.
To release the trunk lid, press the button 6 for more than
1 second. Lift the trunk lid to access the trunk.
The Intelligent Key can also be used to activate the panic alarm by
pressing and holding the button 7 for more than 1 second. Once
activated, the panic alarm and headlights will stay on for a period of t\
ime.
INFINITI INTELLIGENT KEY BATTERY DISCHARGE
If the battery of the Intelligent Key is discharged
or environmental conditions interfere with the
Intelligent Key operation, start the engine according
to the following procedure:
1. Move the shift lever to the P (PARK) position.
2. Firmly apply the foot brake.
3. Touch the ignition switch with the Intelligent Key,
and a chime will sound.
4. Within 10 seconds after the chime sounds, push
the ignition switch while depressing the brake pedal and the engine will\
start.

Vehicle Information Display
When the or button 1 is pressed,
the following modes will appear on the vehicle
information display 2 :
• Fuel Economy – Displays the current
fuel consumption.
• Average Speed – Displays the average vehicle
speed since the last reset.
• Distance/Time – Displays the elapsed time and
total distance the vehicle has been driven since
the last reset.
• RANGE – Displays the estimated distance to empty
(dte) the vehicle can be driven before refueling.
• Navigation (if so equipped) – Displays the
navigation route information when route guidance is set in the navigatio\
n system.
• Audio – Displays the status of the audio information.
• Driving Aids (if so equipped) – Displays driving aid status.
• Tire Pressure (if so equipped) – Displays the current tire pressure in each tire\
.
• Chassis Control – Displays the status of Active Lane Control and Active Trace Contro\
l.
• Energy Flow - Displays the energy flow between the engine and the Li-ion battery and t\
he
current charge level of the battery.
• EV Odometer - This indicates the total distance traveled using the electric motor only\
.
• Acceleration Guide - Displays how efficiently the vehicle is being driven based on the
accelerator pedal position.
• Coolant Temp - Displays the current temperature of the coolant.
• Warning – Displays when a warning is present.
Push the TRIP RESET switch 3 for approximately 1 second to reset the currently displayed
trip odometer to zero.

A cellular telephone should not be used while driving
so full attention may be given to vehicle operation.*
SYSTEM OPERATING TIPS
Press the button on the steering wheel to activate
voice recognition.
Press the button to interrupt the voice prompts at
any time and speak a command after the tone.
To use the system faster, you may speak the second
level commands with the main menu command on the
main menu.
