Sport mode
The steering effort becomes heavier.
CAUTION
• For your safety, if you press
the steering mode button to
change the mode while turn-
ing the steering wheel, the
LCD display will change as
you selected, but the steering
effort will not change. After
that, if you leave the steering
wheel centered, the steering
effort will change to the
selected mode.
• Be careful when changing the
steering mode while driving.
• When the electronic power
steering is not working prop-
erly, the driver selectable
steering mode will not work.

4. Changing Mirror Angle setting
(if equipped):
Due to mirror positions being angled
towards the driver, the compass mir-
ror can also compensate for drivers
seated on the Left Hand side of the
vehicle (steering wheel on the LH
side of the vehicle) or Right Hand
side of the vehicle (steering wheel on
the RH side of the vehicle).
To adjust the Left Hand, "L" or Right
Hand, "R", setting:
1. Press and hold the button for more
than 12 seconds.
2. Release then press the button to
toggle between "L" and "R".
✽NOTICE
This procedure also causes the com-
pass to be de-calibrated.
3. To re-calibrate the compass, drive
the vehicle in 2 complete circles at
less than 8km/h (5mph).
CAUTION
1. Do not install the ski
rack,antenna, etc. which are
attached to the vehicle by
means of a magnet.They
affect the operation of the
compass.
2. If the compass deviates from
the correct indication soon
after repeated adjustment, we
recommend that you have the
compass checked at an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
3. The compass may not indi-
cate the correct compass
point in tunnels or while driv-
ing up or down a steep hill.
(The compass returns to the
correct compass point when
the vehicle moves to an area
where the geomagnetism is
stabilized.)

4. When cleaning the mirror, use
a paper towel or similar mate-
rial dampened with glass
cleaner. Do not spray glass
cleaner directly on the mirror
as that may cause the liquid
cleaner to enter the mirror
housing.

Illumination
The brightness of the instrument
panel illumination is changed by
moving the illumination control knob
right or left when the ignition switch
or Engine Start/Stop button is ON, or
the tale lights are turned on.• The brightness has 20 levels : 1
(MIN) ~ 20 (MAX)
• If you hold the illumination control
knob on the right end (+) or left end
(-), the brightness will be changed
continuously.
• If the brightness reaches to the
maximum or minimum level, an
alarm will sound.
LCD Display Control
The LCD display modes can be
changed by using the control buttons
on the steering wheel.
(1) : MODE button for changing
modes
(2) : MOVE button for changing
items
(3) : SELECT/RESET button for
setting or resetting the
selected item

Warning Messages
Shift to "P" position (for smart key
system and automatic transaxle)
• This warning message illuminates if
you try to turn off the engine without
the shift lever in P (Park) position.
• At this time, the Engine Start/Stop
Button turns to the ACC position (If
you press the Engine Start/Stop
Button once more, it will turn to the
ON position).
Low Key Battery
(for smart key system)
• This warning message illuminates
if the battery of the smart key is
discharged when the Engine
Start/Stop Button changes to the
OFF position.
Press start button while turn
steering (for smart key system)
• This warning message illuminates
if the steering wheel does not
unlock normally when the Engine
Start/Stop Button is pressed.
• It means that you should press the
Engine Start/Stop Button while
turning the steering wheel right
and left.

Align steering wheel (if equipped)
• This warning message illuminates
if you start the engine when the
steering wheel is turned to more
than 90 degrees to the left or right.
• It means that you should turn the
steering wheel and make the angle
of the steering wheel be less than
30 degrees.
Low Washer Fluid (if equipped)
• This warning message illuminates
on the service reminder mode if
the washer fluid level in the reser-
voir is nearly empty.
• It means that you should refill the
washer fluid.
Turn on "FUSE SWITCH"
(if equipped)
• This warning message illuminates
if the fuse switch on the fuse box is
OFF.
• It means that you should turn the
fuse switch on.

tance since the last tripmeter reset.
- Distance range: 0.0 ~ 9999.9 mi.

• The average vehicle speed is cal-
culated by the total driving dis-
tance and driving time since the

• To reset the average vehicle speed,
press the SELECT/RESET button
on the steering wheel for more
than 1 second when the average
vehicle speed is displayed.
✽NOTICE
• The average vehicle speed is not dis-
played if the driving distance is less
than 50 meters (0.03 miles) or the
driving time is less than 10 seconds
since the ignition switch or Engine
Start/Stop button is turned to ON.
• Even if the vehicle is not in motion,
the average vehicle speed keeps
going while the engine is running.
Elapsed Time (3)
• The elapsed time is the total driv-
ing time since the last elapsed time
reset.
- Time range (hh:mm): 00:00 ~ 99:59
• To reset the elapsed time, press
the SELECT/RESET button on
the steering wheel for more than 1
second when the elapsed time is
displayed.
✽NOTICE
Even if the vehicle is not in motion,
the elapsed time keeps going while
the engine is running.

Fuel Economy
Distance To Empty (1)
• The distance to empty is the esti-
mated distance the vehicle can be
driven with the remaining fuel.
- Distance range : 30 ~ 9999 mi or
50 ~ 9999 km.
• If the estimated distance is below
50 km (30 mi.), the trip computer
will display “---” as distance to
empty.
✽NOTICE
• If the vehicle is not on level ground
or the battery power has been
interrupted, the distance to empty
function may not operate correctly.
• The distance to empty may differ
from the actual driving distance as
it is an estimate of the available
driving distance.
• The trip computer may not register
additional fuel if less than 6 liters
(1.6 gallons) of fuel are added to the
vehicle.
• The fuel economy and distance to
empty may vary significantly based
on driving conditions, driving
habits, and condition of the vehicle.
Average Fuel Economy (2)
• The average fuel economy is calcu-
lated by the total driving distance
and fuel consumption since the last
average fuel economy reset.
- Fuel economy range: 0.0 ~ 99.9
MPG or L/100km
• The average fuel economy can be
reset both manually and automati-
cally.
Manual reset
To clear the average fuel economy
manually, press the SELECT/RESET
button on the steering wheel for
more than 1 second when the aver-
age fuel economy is displayed.
