Hands-Free Feature
1.Move your foot under and away fromthe rear bumper similar to a kickingmotion.
2.The liftgate will power open or close.
Note:Make sure you have a remote controlwithin 3 feet (1 meter) of the liftgate.
Note:Manually pushing or pulling theliftgate may enable the bounce-back featureand stop the liftgate from opening or closing.
Note:Splashing water may cause theliftgate to open. Keep the remote controlaway from the rear bumper detection areawhen washing your vehicle.
KEYLESS ENTRY
General Information
Passive locking and unlocking requires avalid passive key to be located within oneof the three external detection ranges.These are located approximately five feet(1.5 meters) from the front door handlesand the liftgate.
Locking Your Vehicle
Touch a locking sensor once to lock yourvehicle and arm the alarm.
Touch a locking sensor twice within threeseconds to double lock your vehicle andarm the alarm.
Two short flashes of the direction indicatorsconfirms that all the doors and the liftgatehave been locked and that the alarm hasbeen armed.

Arming the Engine Immobilizer
When you switch the ignition off the engineimmobilizer will arm automatically after ashort time.
Disarming the Engine Immobilizer
When you switch the ignition on the engineimmobilizer will disarm automatically if acorrectly coded key is used.
Disarming the Alarm
Disarm and silence the alarm by unlockingthe doors with the key and switching theignition on with a correctly coded key, orunlocking the doors or the luggagecompartment lid with the remote control.

To reduce wind noise or buffeting when justone window is open, open the oppositewindow slightly.
GLOBAL OPENING AND
CLOSING
Global Opening
1.Press and release the remote controlunlock button.
2.Press and hold the remote controlunlock button for at least three seconds.
Press the lock or unlock button to stop theopening function.
Global Closing
Vehicles Without Keyless Entry
To close all the windows, press and holdthe remote control lock button for at leastthree seconds. Press the lock or unlockbutton to stop the closing function.
Vehicles With Keyless Entry
To close all the windows, press and holdthe driver’s door handle for at least threeseconds.
MOONROOF (If Equipped)
Opening and Closing the Sunscreen
Press and release the rear of the control toopen the sunscreen. Press and release thefront of the control to close the sunscreen.
Opening and Closing the Moonroof
Press and release the rear of the control toopen the moonroof. Press and release thefront of the control to close the moonroof.
CLOCK
Type 1
To adjust the clock, switch the ignition onand press buttons H or M on the informationand entertainment display as necessary.
Type 2
Use the information display to adjust theclock.
TRIP COMPUTER
Fuel Used
Indicates the approximate distance yourvehicle will travel on the fuel remaining inthe tank. Changes in driving pattern maycause the value to vary.

Failure to Start
If you are unable to start your vehicle, dothe following.
1.Hold the passive key next to the symbolon the steering column.
2.With the passive key in this position, youcan use the button to switch the ignitionon and start your vehicle.
DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER
During regeneration at low speed or engineidle, you may smell a hot metallic odor andcould notice a clicking metallic sound. Thisis due to the high temperatures reachedduring regeneration and is normal.
HILL START ASSIST
The system makes it easier to pull awaywhen your vehicle is on a slope without theneed to use the parking brake.
When the system is active, your vehicle willremain stationary on the slope for two tothree seconds after you release the brakepedal. This allows you time to move yourfoot from the brake to the acceleratorpedal. The brakes are releasedautomatically once the engine hasdeveloped sufficient drive to prevent yourvehicle from rolling down the slope.
BRAKES
Emergency Brake Assist
Emergency brake assist detects when youbrake heavily by measuring the rate atwhich you press the brake pedal. It providesmaximum braking efficiency as long as youpress the pedal. Emergency brake assistcan reduce stopping distances in criticalsituations.
Anti-lock Brake System
This system helps you maintain steeringcontrol and vehicle stability duringemergency stops by keeping the brakesfrom locking.
CRUISE CONTROL
Cruise control lets you maintain a set speedwithout keeping your foot on theaccelerator pedal. You can use cruisecontrol when your vehicle speed is greaterthan 20 mph (30 km/h).

1.Open the lid of the kit.
2.Peel off the label I showing themaximum permissible speed of 50 mph(80 km/h) from the casing and attachit to the instrument panel in the driver’sfield of view. Make sure the label doesnot obscure anything important.
3.Take the hose C and the power plugwith cable G out of the kit.
4.Unscrew the orange cap D and thebottle lid J.
5.Screw the sealant bottle K clockwiseinto the bottle holder E fully tight.
6.Remove the valve cap from thedamaged tire.
7.Detach the protective cap A from thehose C and screw the hose C firmly ontothe valve of the damaged tire.
8.Make sure that the compressor switchH is in position 0.
9.Insert the power plug G into the cigarlighter socket or auxiliary power point.
10.Start the engine.
11.Move the compressor switch H toposition 1.
12.Inflate the tire for no longer than 10minutes to an inflation pressure ofminimum 1.8 bar (26 psi) and amaximum of 3.5 bar (51 psi). Move thecompressor switch H to position 0 andcheck the current tire pressure withpressure gauge F.
13.Remove the power plug G from thecigar lighter socket or auxiliary powerpoint.
14.Quickly unscrew the hose C from thetire valve and replace the protectivecap A. Fasten the valve cap again.
15.Leave the sealant bottle K in thebottle holder E.
16.Make sure the kit, the bottle lid andthe orange cap are stored safely, butstill easily accessible in your vehicle.The kit will be required again when youcheck the tire pressure.
17.Immediately drive approximatelytwo miles (three kilometers) so thatthe sealant can seal the damagedarea.
