WINDOW CLEANING
The right stalk fig. 63 controls
windscreen wiper/washer and
heated rear window wiper/washer
operation.
WINDSCREEN
WASHER/WIPER
This operates only with the ignition
key turned to MAR.
The stalk has five different positions
(4 speed levels):
0 windscreen wiper off.
1 intermittent operation.
2 continuous slow operation.3 continuous fast operation.
4 temporary fast operation
(unstable position).
Temporary fast operation lasts as
long as you manually keep the stalk
in that position.
The lever returns to position 0
when it is released, automatically
stopping the windscreen wipers.
Windscreen wiper speed
reduction according to vehicle
speed (for versions/markets,
where provided)
On some versions, when
decelerating until the vehicle stops,
the windscreen wiper will slow
down automatically by one level.
The speed will be resumed
automatically when the vehicle speed
exceeds 10 km/h. It is possible to
manually change the windscreen
wiper speed at any time.

“Smart washing” function
Pull the stalk towards the steering
wheel (unstable position) to operate
the windscreen washer.
Keep the lever pulled to activate
both the windscreen washer jet and
the windscreen wiper with a single
movement; the latter turns on
automatically if you keep the lever
pulled for more than half a second.
The windscreen wiper stops
operating a few strokes after
releasing the stalk; a further
“cleaning stroke”, after a few
seconds, completes the wiping
operation.

Do not use the
windscreen wipers to
remove layers of snow
or ice from the windscreen. In
these conditions, the windscreen
wipers may be submitted to
excessive effort resulting in the
motor protection cutting in and
wiper operation being inhibited
for a few seconds. If operation is
not subsequently restored,
contact a Fiat Dealership.

CONTROLS
HAZARD WARNING
LIGHTS fig. 64
They are turned on by pressing
switch A, regardless of the position
of the ignition key.
With the device activated, the
switch flashes and the warning
lights flash on the instrument panel
at the same time.
To switch off, press the switch again.The use of hazard
warning lights is
governed by the highway code
of the country you are in.
Drivers must therefore comply
with the regulations that the
code contains.

They only operate with ignition key

When a function is activated, the

Rear fog lights
Switch A: to activate these lights, the
dipped headlights and/or front fog
lights must be switched on. The rear
fog lights are deactivated when the
ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.
Fog lights
Switch B: to activate these lights, the
external lights must be switched on
(not the main beam headlights). The
front fog lights are deactivated when
the ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.Driving lights
Switch C. To activate these lights,
the mean beam headlights must be
switched on. The driving lights are
deactivated when the ignition key is
turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.

FUEL CUT-OFF
SWITCH fig. 66
This is a safety switch that is tripped
in the event of impact, cutting off the
fuel supply, thereby causing the
engine to stop.

If, after a collision, you
smell fuel or notice
leaks from the fuel system, do
not reset the switch to avoid
the risk of fire.

GLOVE COMPARTMENT

To open, pull grip A. On some
versions, when the glove
compartment opens the internal
lighting switches on. Some versions
feature an upper compartment. To
open press button B. If no fuel leaks are detected and the
vehicle can be started again, press
button A to reactivate the fuel
system.
After a collision, remember to turn
the ignition key to STOP to prevent
battery from running down.
Do not travel with the
glove box open: it could
injure the passenger in the
event of an accident.

one of the doors is closed
(within 3 minutes).
The timed period is interrupted if
the ignition is turned to MAR.
Exit timing
After removing the key from the
ignition switch, the roof lights switch
on as follows:
– for a period of 3 minutes within 2
minutes of the engine stopping;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;
– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed (within
3 minutes).
Timing will stop automatically when

The rear roof light is switched on
using the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;
pressed to 2: always on.POWER SOCKET fig.72
This is present only on certain
versions and operates when the
ignition key is turned to MAR.
To use, lift cap A.
It can be used with devices /
accessories with a maximum power
of 180 W.
Before connecting any
electrical accessories,
contact a Fiat Dealership to
check whether this is possible.

OPENING WINDOWS

Two switches are located in the
driver side door panel moulding.
These operate the following
windows with ignition key at MAR:
A - left window;
B - right window.
There is a switch in the passenger
side door handle which controls the
passenger side window.
Press the switches to lower the
windows. Lift to raise them.
Incorrect use of the
electric windows may
be dangerous. Before and
during their operation ensure
that passengers are not at risk
from the moving glass, either
by personal objects caught in
the mechanism or struck by it
directly. When leaving the car,
always remove the ignition key
to avoid the risk of injury due
to accidental operation of the
electric windows.

3) Insert the end of the stay in

engine compartment with the
engine hot to avoid burning
yourself. Do not place your
hands near the fan, as it may
be activated even when the key
is not in the ignition. Wait for
the engine to cool.

HEADLIGHTS
LIGHT BEAM DIRECTION
The correct direction of the
headlights is essential for the
comfort and safety of the driver and
other road users. To ensure the
best visibility when travelling with
the headlights on, the vehicle’s
headlight alignment must be correct.
Contact a Fiat Dealership to have
the headlights checked and adjusted.
HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT
CORRECTOR
This device operates with the
ignition key at MAR and the dipped
headlights on. The vehicle tilts
backwards when it is laden, raising
the beam. The beams must
therefore be realigned in this case.Headlight alignment

To adjust, depending on the version,
use the dedicated buttons on the
control panel to the left of the
steering wheel fig. 97.
The display on the instrument panel
provides a visual indication of the
adjustment position.
Position 0 - one or two people in
the front seats.
Position 1 (for versions/markets,
where provided) - four people.
Position 2 (for versions/markets,
where provided) - four people +
load in the rear compartment.
Position 3 (for versions/markets,
where provided) - driver +
maximum permitted load, all stowed
in the rear load compartment.
