CHECKING FLUID LEVELS
WARNING
Never smoke while working in the engine compartment : inflammable gases
and vapours may be present , constituting a firerisk.
WARNING
Be very careful when working in theengine compartment when the engine is
hot : you may get burned. Remember that thefan may start up if the engine is hot : this couldinjure you. Make sure that scarves, ties andother loose fitting garments do not get caughtup in moving parts.
When topping up, take care not to mix upthe various types of fluids: they are notcompatible with each other and could
seriously damage the car.

HEAVY-DUTY USE OF THE CARIf the car is used mainly under one of the followingconditions: ❒

check front disc brake pad conditions and wear;

check cleanliness of bonnet and boot locks, cleanliness and lubrication of linkage;

visually inspect conditions of: engine, gearbox,transmission, pipes and hoses (exhaust - fuelsystem - brakes) and rubber elements (boots -sleeves - bushes - etc.);
❒
check battery charge and battery fluid level(electrolyte);
❒
visually inspect condition of the accessory drivebelts;
❒
check and, if necessary, change engine oil andreplace oil filter;
❒
check and, if necessary, replace pollen filter.

BRAKE FLUID
Check that the liquid is at the maximum level (the
fluid level in the reservoir must not exceed the MAX
mark).
If the fluid level in the tank is too low, undo reservoir
cap D (see previous pages) and add the fluid
described in the chapter "Technical Specifications".
NoteCarefully clean the cap of the reservoir and
the surrounding surface.
Take great care to ensure that impurities do not
enter the reservoir when the cap is opened.
For topping-up, always use a funnel with integrated
filter with mesh equal to or lower than 0.12 mm.
IMPORTANT Brake fluid is hygroscopic (i.e. it
absorbs moisture). For this reason, if the car is
mainly used in areas with a high degree of
atmospheric humidity, the fluid should be replaced at
more frequent intervals than specified in the
“Scheduled Servicing Plan”.
Prevent brake fluid, which is highly
corrosive, from coming into contact with
painted parts. Should it happen,
immediately wash with water.
WARNING
Brake fluid is poisonous and highly
corrosive. If contact accidentally occurs,
immediately wash the affected areas with
water and a neutral detergent , and then rinse
thoroughly with water. Call a doctor
immediately if swallowed.WARNING
The symbolon the container indicates
a synthetic brake fluid, which is
different from a mineral fluid. Using a
mineral-type fluid will damage the special
rubber seals of the braking system beyond
repair.

LEATHER STEERING WHEEL/GEAR
KNOB/HANDBRAKE
These components must be cleaned with mild soap
and water only. Never use alcohol or alcohol-based
products.
Read the product label carefully before using specific
products for cleaning the interiors: make sure the
product does not contain alcohol or alcohol-based
substances.
If, when cleaning the windscreen with special
products, window cleaner accidentally drips onto the
leather of the steering wheel/gear lever knob/hand
brake, wipe away immediately and then wash the
affected area with mild soap and water.IMPORTANT Be careful when using a steering wheel
lock device, where applicable, to avoid damaging
the leather upholstery by rubbing.
