Automatic operation
Automatic release
The complete release of the parking brake is confirmed by the brake

ndicator lamp and the P indicator

When stationary with the engine running, do not depress the accelerator pedal unnecessarily, y
ou risk releasing the parking brake.
Ensure first that the engine is running and the driver's door is properly closed.

Hill start assist
System which keeps your vehicle immobilised temporarily (approximately 2 seconds) when

tarting on a gradient, the time it takes to

ove your foot from the brake pedal to the

This
system only operates when:

he vehicle is completely stationary, with

our foot on the brake pedal,

ertain conditions of slope are met,

ith the driver’s door closed.
The
hill start assist system cannot be

eactivated.
On an ascending slope, with the vehicle
stationar y, the vehicle is held for a
momentarily when you release the brake pedal:
- provided you are in first gear or neutral on a
manual gearbox,

electronic

earbox.
Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, the
vehicle is held momentarily when you
release the brake pedal.
Operating fault
If a fault in the system occurs, these warning lamps come on, accompanied by an alert

qualified workshop to have the system

Stopping the vehicle
In both cases, if automatic operation of the e
lectric parking brake has been deactivated,

ou must apply the parking brake

he control lever.
When
immobilising the vehicle, with

he engine running, you must place the

elector lever in neutral N .
Before
carrying out any work in the
e
ngine compartment, ensure that the
s
elector lever is in neutral N and that
t
he parking brake is applied.
Whatever
the circumstances, you must
m
anually apply the parking brake when
p
arking, if automatic operation has
b
een
d
eactivated. With
the ignition on, the flashing of A or
AUTO , accompanied by an audible signal and
a
message, indicates a malfunction of the
g
earbox.
Operating fault
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a q

In the event of a battery failure, use the
chock

immobilise
the
