GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CAR
In-depth knowledge of your new vehicle
starts here.
The handbook that you are reading
simply and directly explains how it
is made and how it works.
That’s why we advise you to read it
seated comfortably on board, so that
you can see what is described here for
yourself.SYMBOLS ...................................... 10

IMPORTANT
7) Do not open the sun roof if there
is snow or ice on it: you may
damage it.
8) Use the sun roof only at "spoiler"
position if a transverse roof rack is
fitted.
WARNING
18) When leaving the car, always
remove the key from the ignition
to avoid the risk of injury due
to accidental operation of the sun
roof. Improper use of the roof
can be dangerous. Before and
during operation, always check
that nobody is at risk of being
injured by the moving sun roof or
by objects getting caught or hit by
it.
DOORS

DOOR CENTRAL
LOCKING/UNLOCKING
Unlocking doors from
the outside
Press the
button on the key or turn
the metal insert (located inside the key)
to position 1 fig. 44 in the driver side
door lock.
When the key is turned the doors and
the tailgate are simultaneously
unlocked.Locking doors from the
outside
With the doors closed, press the
button on the key or fit and then turn
the metal insert (located inside the
key) to position 2 fig. 44 in the driver
side door lock.
IMPORTANT If one of the doors is not
completely closed or if there is a fault in
the system, the central locking will not
be activated. If the operation is
repeated 10/11 times in quick
succession, the device is excluded for
approximately 30 seconds.

9) Take care not to knock objects on
the roof rack when opening the
tailgate.
BONNET
OPENING
Proceed as follows:
❒pull lever A fig. 54 in the direction
indicated by the arrow;
❒move the lever B fig. 55 to the right
as shown in the figure;
❒lift the bonnet and, at the same time,
release the supporting rod C fig. 56
from its catch D, then insert the
end of the rod into housing E in the
bonnet (larger hole) and push to
safety position (smaller hole),
as shown in the figure.

FASTENERS
The fasteners are located in the area
indicated in fig. 57.
To use the front fasteners, remove the
cap A fig. 57, accessible with the door
open.
The rear fixing areas B can be found
according to measurements shown in
fig. 58.
29) 30)
Lineaccessori Abarth provides a
specific roof rack/ski rack for the
tailgate.IMPORTANT Follow the instructions
contained in the assembly kit carefully.
Assembly must be performed by
qualified personnel.
WARNING
29) Strictly adhere to the laws in
force concerning maximum
clearance. Never exceed the
maximum permitted loads; see
chapter "Technical
specifications".
30) Evenly distribute the load and
take into account, when driving,
the increased responsiveness
of the car to side wind. Check that
the attachment fixing screws are
tight after a few kilometres.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CAR
SAVING FUEL
GENERAL
CONSIDERATIONS
Car maintenance
Checks and adjustments should be
carried out in accordance with the
"Scheduled Servicing Plan" (see
chapter "Maintenance and care").
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures at least once
every four weeks: if the pressure is
too low, consumption levels increase as
resistance to rolling is higher.
Unnecessary loads
Do not travel with an overloaded
luggage compartment. The weight of
the car and its arrangement greatly
affect fuel consumption and stability.
When transporting particularly large
objects, use a trailer if possible.
Roof rack/ski rack
Remove the roof rack or the ski rack
from the roof after use. These
accessories lower aerodynamic
penetration and adversely affect
consumption levels.Electrical devices
Use electrical devices only for the
amount of time needed. The heated
rear window, additional headlights,
screen wipers and heater fan require a
considerable amount of energy;
increasing the current uptake increases
fuel consumption (by up to +25% in
an urban cycle).
Climate control system
Using the climate control system will
increase consumption: use the air vents
when the temperature outside permits.
Devices for
aerodynamic control
The use of non-certified devices for
aerodynamic control may adversely
affect air drag and consumption levels.
DRIVING STYLE
Cranking
Do not warm up the engine at low or
high revs when the car is stationary;
this causes the engine to warm up
more slowly, thereby increasing fuel
consumption and emissions. It is
therefore advisable to move off
immediately, slowly, avoiding high
speeds: in this way the engine will
warm up more quickly.Unnecessary actions
Avoid accelerating when stopped at
traffic lights or before switching off the
engine. The latter action, as well as
double-declutching, is unnecessary and
causes increased fuel consumption
and pollution.
Gear selection
Use a high gear when traffic and road
conditions allow it. Using a low gear for
faster acceleration will increase
consumption. In the same way
improper use of a high gear increases
consumption, emissions and engine
wear.
Max. speed
Fuel consumption considerably
increases as speed increases. Maintain
a constant speed, avoiding
unnecessary braking and acceleration,
which cost in terms of both fuel
consumption and emissions.
Acceleration
Accelerating violently severely affects
consumption and emissions:
acceleration should be gradual and
should not exceed the maximum
torque.
125
FUEL CONSUMPTION
The fuel consumption figures given in the tables below are determined on the basis of the type-approval tests laid down by
specific European Directives.
The procedures below are followed for measuring consumption:
❒urban cycle: cold starting followed by driving that simulates urban use of the car;
❒extra-urban cycle: frequent accelerating in all gears, simulating extra-urban use of the car: speed varies between 0 and
120 km/h;
❒combined consumption: calculated with a weighting of approximately 37% of the urban cycle and 63% of the extra-urban
cycle.
IMPORTANT The type of route, traffic conditions, weather conditions, driving style, general condition of the car, trim level/
equipment/accessories, use of the climate control system, car load, presence of roof racks and other situations that adversely
affect the aerodynamics or wind resistance lead to different fuel consumption values than those measured.
